I walk home after school. My nose with dried blood under it, a black eye I don't think makeup can fix and bruises all over my stomach and back.

Fuck what is Jack going to think? I thought as I was nearing my home. I had to think fast, so I decided to put the hood from my hoodie over my face so that Jack nor Signe would see the bruises.

I entered my house and Jack and Signe were watching Rick and Morty in the living room. I ran upstairs, not daring to look back down. I went to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. God they fucked me up! I thought. I heard the door of my room and I quickly put my hoodie back on.
"Keren?" I heard a voice through the door of the bathroom,instantly recognized as Signe, "are you ok? You just came rushing up the stairs."
"Yeah I am fine" I said trying to hide the tears. I hated telling them lies.
"Keren your not fine, I clearly heard you sobbing when I came in."
"Ok fine, I am not ok." I say opening the door, and I took off my hoodie. Singe face was shocked, "What happened?"
"Some girls as school attacked me...."
"Let me get first aid kit, take off your shirt to see if there's any bruises anywhere else"

I did what she said and waited for her on my bed. Signe came though the door and started treating my eye and cleaning up my nose.

When I was all patched up, Signe asked me the weirdest thing...
"Keren do you miss your parents?" I never about that until now.... God, do I? They did treat me nicely and did cared for me like parents, but after the whole "Incident" they treated me like trash, like I was a pest.
"I don't know Signe, I never thought about it. Why you ask?"
"Since the news came about your parents dying came to us, I just curious." Signe responded, "Ok now you're all patched up."

I went downstairs with Jack still sitting on the couch watching TV. I joined them and I felt like I finally found a family that loves me.
