COLLAGE AND BACKGROUND

*WILL NOT BE USED IN FINAL GRADE*

In this piece we can see a lot of things has been added together to create an interesting piece of art. I also can't lie, this is my favourite piece of work to date.
We can also see a topic change, I think this is an onion, but I can't be sure anymore.

As you can see the page itself follows a similar set up, but it's the art work itself I'm focused on. And how did I do this?

This is where previous lessons come into play. Collaging, backgrounds and transferring. Bellow is the reference image I used.

And below is a zoomed in section of my art, in which I can talk about what I did.

I first created a background so I used dark red and brown, and I let them drip down the paper. Then I added pieces of collages, mainly brown and red to match the colours of the drips. Finally I added the emulsion paint, which filled down the colours. As you can see above, the brown paper is quiet bold and bright, but when I added the white on top of it, it made the paper white, dull. This is so the image you draw on the background and collage isn't drowned out.
Finally, you use the transfer method, I suggest doing the detailed method instead of a continuous line methods, just so you can use the detail to cover up harsh lines from the collage.

As I said, I'm quiet proud of this piece, just sad I can't use it in my final grade.
