Chapt. 1 ~ Aunt

• ~ Third Person Perspective ~ •

It was a peaceful Friday afternoon. The children had all arrived back from school. Miko was relieved it was the weekend. Rafael was happy that he was able to hang out longer with Bumblebee. And Jack... well Jack seemed excited.

The boy was pacing, texting back and forth with his mother. Bumblebee, Miko, and Raf stared at him confused. Jack had the biggest smile on his face, which was strange.

"Uhh. Hey Jack? Do you wanna race?" Raf asked, trying to pull Jack out of whatever trance he was having. Barely looking away from his phone Jack responded.

"Huh? No no, I'm good." He answered before indulging back into texting. Miko shrugged at Raf, then took a try her self.

"Did you get Sierra's number?" She asked. Jack said no and continued to text. Miko looked at Arcee who rolled her eyes. Miko jumped off the couch and grabbed Jack's phone as Arcee started to explain.

"His mom told him his ant was coming to town. Which doesn't make any sense why he cares about an ant." Arcee scoffed, Miko laughed.

"Not the bug Arcee! His aunt is coming over." Miko said, reading through the messages between Jack and his mother. "Why are you so excited? Seeing family is the worst. And if she's anything like your mom, well I don't want to meet her."

"First of all, she's not actually my aunt. My mom doesn't have any siblings. Second, give me my phone back!" He demanded before snatching it out of Miko's hand and closing it and putting it in his pocket.

"Then who is she?" Raf asked, starting up a new game with Bee.

"She's one of my mom's friends from medical school. And she is very different from my mom." Jack said, joining Raf on the couch, stealing Miko's spot as revenge.

"How so? Is she like Ratchet? We already have two doctors, we don't need another one." Miko pouted. Jack rolled his eyes and Ratchet did too while he was standing at the screen.

"She's not like Ratchet either. And she never pursued an actual medical career after school. At least not until now." Jack said, sounding excited again.

"Oh no! Don't tell me! She's going to be the school nurse isn't she?!" Miko said, annoyance and fear in her voice. Jack rolled his eyes but nodded.

"Yeah, but she'll be sooooo much better than Mrs. Marty was." Jack said, smiling happily. Miko rolled her eyes.

"So what's she like if she's so much better than your mom, Ratchet, and Mrs. Marty." Miko said, sass in her tone.

"Well, she's calm, she doesn't get upset with people, ...but when she does she's terrifying..., she's very open minded, she's generous, she's very good at reading people, so she takes action depending on your body language and mood, and she always seems to know the right things to say." Jack listed.

"So why are you so close to her?" Arcee asked. "If she's your mom's friend, wouldn't it just be her and your mom, not you and her?"

"Well, she took care of me when mom couldn't and she helped my mom financially when my dad left. She used to babysit me all the time when mom was working. She's kind of like a second mom to me." Jack explained, his smile more gentle and holding happiness.

"So. Monday?" Raf asked, Jack understood automatically and nodded.

"Monday, you'll meet her." Jack confirmed. Jack was then able to calm down for the rest of the day.

When Monday came around, Miko wasn't very excited about going to school. Well... she was more upset about going to school. She didn't want to meet another grump or helicopter adult. Rafael didn't know how to feel about meeting her. He was sure he'd like her, if what Jack said about her was true.

Jack had already seen her, for she came over late Sunday night for dinner. She didn't live far from Jack, but she also didn't live walk distance close. So when she stopped by Jack's house in the morning to offer him a ride, he wasn't exactly surprised. Though, she sure was surprised when she saw the motorcycle.

"Wow. June must've had a heart attack when you brought this beauty home." She commented, giving Jack a hug, then examining the bike. Her voice was soft and soothing, relaxing to listen too.

"Yeah, she wasn't very happy about it." Jack chuckled before sitting on the seat. (Y/n) handed him his helmet.

"I'm so happy to see how mature and responsible you've become." She said, a small smile on her soft (l/c) lips. Jack smiled back at her.

"Well thanks to you and mom's handy work at raising me I've become this way." Jack commented.

"Oh? Well, I do believe you had something to do with that. You challenged yourself to become the responsible boy you are. You took the responsibility of behaving yourself when you didn't have to. So give yourself some credit. You especially helped in your own growth, when you go against your mother's wishes and challenge yourself to become even more responsible, by making these choices." She motioned to Arcee. "It's dangerous, but as long as you feel you're responsible enough to take the precautions, you'll become better."

"Thanks Aunt (Y/n)..." Jack said with a happy smile. (Y/n) nodded to him. She said that she'll see him soon and drove off to school.

"Wow. She really does have a way with words." Arcee commented, prompting Jack to chuckle.

"Told ya."

After school, Jack spotted Miko and Rafael. He approached them and noticed (Y/n) was there with them. She had her bag resting on her hip as she spoke to the two. Miko seemed quite excited to be talking to her.

"Hey guys, I see you've met (Y/n)." Jack said, smiling as he joined their little circle.

"You said she was better than Mrs. Marty? Dude! She is a rockstar!" Miko shouted excitedly. (Y/n) smiled.

"Strong and bold. As you said Jack." (Y/n) nodded to Jack. "Well I hope you don't mind, but I must excuse myself. I will see you three tomorrow. Though, I might see you tonight Jack. Your mother said her shift might get extended."

"Alright. See you later." Jack said with a smile. Watching her leave. Then he looked to Miko. "So, what'd she do to make you like her so much?"

"Well. I was running late to class because Mr. Wilson kept me back without giving me a pass, then she wrote me a note to excuse me. It really saved me today. One more tardy today and I would've gotten detention." Miko said, sounding relieved.

"And Raf?" Jack asked, looking to the younger boy.

"I wasn't feeling good, so I went to her today. She told me to drink water and let me lie down. She said she'd talk to me about it later, which she did." Raf said with a smile. "I'm feeling better now."

"Well that's good. I'll see you guys at base." He said before they all split for base.

"Vehicle approaching." Ratchet said, zooming in to see the familiar cream white car approached.

"And here comes mama bear." Miko pouted, rolling her eyes. Jack sent a small glare to Miko. The car soon came in and parked beside the stairs as usual.

"Hello everyone!" June greeted before spotting Jack and calling him down. She greeted her child with a hug. "Hey honey, I figured I should see you and tell you that I'll be home later tonight."

"Yeah, (Y/n) told me." Jack said in response to her explanation. June chuckled.

"(Y/n). Always seven steps ahead of me." June then seemed to remember something and grabbed Jack by the shoulders. "You should go help her unpack. If you're not doing anything else."

"You know she doesn't accept help from anyone." Jack said, June removed her hands from his shoulder and crossed her arms.

"I know. But it wouldn't hurt to ask." She said, before an alarm went off on her phone. "Well I have to go, bye sweetie. I'll see you tomorrow morning depending on how late I get back."

June kissed Jack on the cheek before bidding everyone a farewell and driving off. Arcee watched as she drove away then looked back to Jack.

"I guess (Y/n)'s going to be a common topic." Arcee joked. Jack shrugged.

"She usually is. Trust me, she doesn't like it either." Jack said, going back up the platform.
