Chapter-4 First Impression
"Okay but this doesn't leave this room. Honestly I don't think you. Should even tell your brothers or parents. Theirs a reason your biological parents. Didn't give their true races on your birth certificate. But she's the same race as you. Don't know what breed yet. But I think she might be a diamond back. So you can see. Why I want to keep it hush-hush. Sweetie do you remember your biological parents names?" She asked.
"Gabrielle and Ariel. Why?" I replied and the hugest grin plastered on her face.
"Is the last name Stormborn?" The dragon asked intently.
"How did you guess that?" I asked in disbelief.
"Gabrielle Stormborn is the supreme king of the dragons. Which would make you a princess. And his sole his sole heir. Since they have no children." Another elder answered. As the dragon jumped. Down walked up behind me. I grabbed his claws as I felt him bringing. His claws up near my back.
"No ripping my clothes just unzip the back. That's what the zippers for." I said, letting go. Taking off the trench coat and unzipped the back of my jumpsuit. Exposing a part of my mid back, in the middle of my back. It was almost in the shape of a diamond. Where my birthmark was. It was part of my back that my skin always very scaley and made a white diamond like plating on my skin. Like scales. I honestly always forget it's there. Because it's on my back. I heard him let out a deep breath.
"You are a diamond back and only the king's true heir. Are born with his birthmark. You have it you. So your are definatly his daughter." He muttered only loud enough for me and her to hear. He zipped my back zipper back up. Slipped my trench coat on me for me.
"Okay come on dear. Lets get you settled in." Rose said, taking my hand. She led me the part of the cousel building where their living quarters are. She showed me to one of the spare rooms. But normally only one or two counsel members will stay at the council building. So I didn't expect any of them to be there still when I was wondering around trying to figure out where everything was. I always managed to slip through the halls without any of them noticing. There was no way I was getting caught by a male. Thats why females need the soulmate because other wise any male can forcibly soulbond. When I didn't notice was the male dragon trailing me.
"If your going to follow me your gonna have to try better then that." I said, as I snuck out to the back garden. Where I found a stream. I pulled my hunters mask off my face. Letting my hair down it was now down to my waist but I think it's down growing but the color of shade of my hair kept lightening it was at bleach blond. But I knew it wasn't done yet. It felt weird. I've never had long hair. Although I was taking a serious liking to running my fingers threw it. I was looking at my reflection of in the water.
"Takes a while to get used to." The male dragon whispered startling me. Making me jump.
"Didn't your parents ever teach you not to scare people." I accidentally looked up at him forgetting I wasn't wearing my mask. I looked away immediately putting my mask back on.
"Sorry I'm really old fashion. I'm not supposed to show my real face to anyone other than my other half. Lame I know but its how I was raised." I shrugged, looking back at my reflection in the water.
"No one goes by those ways in like three hundred years. You sure are different Aries. In a good way." He laughed.
"Ya can I ask you something?" I asked hesitantly.
"Ya you can ask me anything?" He assured me.
"Have you met my real parents? Do you know what their like?" I asked so nervous my vioce grew so small almost a whisper. He noticed and gave me a gentle hug.
"Sweetie calm down. Trust me you can ask me anything and I'll promise to always answer you as honestly as I can." He whispered soothingly to me rubbing my back as I relaxed.
"See good girl. Have a little faith in me as a mentor, a friend.... Just learned to trust me. I only looking out for your well being. We all live to serve our royal family. I don't care whether I've known them all my life. Your my king's only living heir. Which means your to valuable to just leave you alone unprotected it's not safe. The main a first rule of being a dragon. We don't trust anyone except other dragons. We all have a very deep mental, spiritual connection to one another. Enough to where we could comunicate tellapathically to each other. Your the first female born of the dragon's blood in hundreds of years. I even Leary of some of our kind around you. A females arua/scent especially when she's flowering can make them lose control. But her scent only effects them like that to attract the strongest male to become their soulmate. To give them the best chances of creating a strong bloodline. To give them the best chances to produce healthy and strong offspring. Giving their race the best chances to flourish. Since two purebred parents are normally the only way to produce a purebred offspring especially if their the same race. But females were so scares and they're numbers were dropping so low. They would have to breed and reproduce offspring. With more then one purebred male and from different races just to produce pureblooded off spring. To keep the races that weren't able to produce pureblood females of their race. Which met my mother was a pure bred but a different race." He explained.
"What race is my mother?" I asked.
"Angel. Arch angel which obviously is a lot stronger than a normal angel. But you don't have any angel in you. Your pure white diamond back dragon." He answered looking into my eyes. I smiled, trying to picture. What my real parents would look.
"And my dad what breed of dragon is he?" I asked.
"Actually it's pretty funny the last four generation of your family's king's. Were all born black nightmares. A breed of dragon that's power is more of that of a demon dark and destructive. But female dragons are much bigger and stronger than their male counterparts." He exclaimed.
"What type are you?" I asked, he smirked mischievously.
"Oh so now my princess is curious about me?" He asked, teasingly chuckling.
"Yes well you are the first of my race I've met. Not to mention my only non-human friend." I shrugged.
"Didn't expect you to consider me a friend yet." He smiled.
"You've never given me any reason to think otherwise. Plus you seen my real face so by tradition you are one of my closer friends. Like your my best friend. Anyone that sees my real face forms a strong unspoken bond till I find my soulmate I can't show my face to anyone." I said, as he put his hand over mine.
"I promise I'll look after and guide you till you find your soulmate. But if I don't that he's good enough. I must see he is worthy. Sorry sweetie if he doesn't respect or treat you right. I'm not leaving you with him." He assured me. I smiled, nodding. He still didn't answer what race he was.
