Story Chain Unleash!
A hum escaped May as she and Drew eyed the Story Chain Elites prepare. Or at least she thought they were the elites. She wasn't sure. Max was stretching lightly as Red went over to him. He didn't look that bad after a couple weeks of being with the Darkseid Chain. Max smiled at him.
"Are you ready?"
The red eyed boy nodded as Max looked at the others. May spotted Kellyn from the group talking to a blonde girl. It surprised her. He was shaking as he talked. A blue haired male touched his shoulder and sat him down. A yelp escaped the brunette, causing the group to bust out laughing.
"Guys... leave Kellyn alone. He has to make it through today." A group of girls that May recognized instantly giggled at that. The blonde sighed.
"Max, he's shaking right now. Are you sure we should drag him along?" He raised his eyebrow.
"He'll be with me. I can take care of him." Kellyn smiled lightly at his leader before standing up. His face was pale as he shifted the machine on his arm.
"Not only that, but I've been training to get better at this. Paul's been a great help at helping me get better." Max grinned.
"I'm glad Ash suggested it. I've seen you getting a little stronger thanks to him. With enough practice and a little more training, you might be able to start leading missions." Kellyn's eyes lit up as the blonde giggled.
"Max, don't put those thoughts in his head right now. I'm not sure he's ready for that after what happened at Altru." Kellyn's face went pale at the memory of it. He then shook his head.
"I've gotten past that! Just you watch, Rhythmi!" She giggled at the outburst.
"Whatever you say, Kellyn. It takes time." The blue haired male sighed at her words.
"Even then I'm not sure he's ready for a leadership role." Max sighed as Kellyn opened his mouth to make a comeback.
"I'll be the judge of that. Me and Paul have been talking. While it might not be right away, you might earn a bigger role. You're doing well as a Rådgiver with Paul. And you've done great with your spot in this group. I know what is needed, so we'll deal with it after this attack. Ok?" The group nodded as the red eyed champion tapped on his leader's shoulders. Max glanced at him and smiled. "Right. We better start heading out. Rhythmi, where is our attack area?" Rhythmi paused as she looked down at a tablet she was holding.
"Surprisingly it's on the outskirts of Mossdeep City. I was able to get into contact with the gym leaders there to tell them that we have a target we need to take out and they agreed to not jump us. We have an hour." Max nodded.
"Alright, let's get moving. Next stop, Mossdeep City!"
May shot a glance at Drew before they followed the group. Max seemed concentrated as he spoke to his teammates upon arriving at the town.
"Alright, Red and Κίλα, we're going in the back so that the Kimono and Musia can lead the attack. We'll meet in the center." The group nodded as Rhythmi and a brown haired male backed up and the rest shot down to a warehouse. The group split up as they striked the warehouse. It happened so fast that May had to think about what happened. They were back into the air with an impressive amount of time. There was a lot complaining down below, but it was still amazing to see the speed. Kellyn had a huge grin on his face, which got a giggle out of Rhythmi.
"I take it you had fun?" Kellyn's smile got a little bigger at that. Max smiled.
"He definitely had fun. He really went far. I'm ready for when he is stable to really fly and start leading the groups into battle. And maybe if you're lucky, Kellyn, you might gain Ash's attention." Kellyn's face lit up in shock to that.
"R-really?" Max nodded.
"Ash has already seen how well you've progressed in your training and condition that he's been mentioning about a possible opportunity for the entire league to show the world what they're against. Some things have been admitted to being set in stone. We're just waiting on some small details and we might be ready. You and a couple others have to finish your things and we might be able to do this. But that's when that happens." Kellyn nodded. "Until then, great job everyone. Task successful!" The group cheered at that. "You guys go back to your areas. And Red? Don't get attacked." The silent champion shot a glare back at Max as a little electricity hit the air. Max smiled lightly. "Dismissed." The group separated. Kellyn stayed and glanced at Max.
"Has Paul said anything about anything I should be aware of?" Max hummed.
"Other than the meeting later today, he didn't say anything. Why?" Kellyn grimaced.
"I don't want him pulling a sneak attack with something like last time where he asked if I had a blanket. He's been playing me for a little while..." Max laughed at that.
"Paul wants you to be on your feet and ready for anything. He's messing with you. Just relax and wing it." Kellyn nodded as they split. May's eyes narrowed as they followed Kellyn. Why not follow Max? They didn't know what to expect after what happened last time. Kellyn flew towards Sinnoh and landed at Paul's house. The two brothers greeted him before bringing him inside. May sighed as they headed for Hoenn. More questions for later.
