Secret Santa
I shouldn't have joined this year's Secret Santa.
The pressure of finding the perfect gift, coupled with drawing the name of the new guy in their group, made Carol's holiday shopping an absolute nightmare.
She holds her breathe as Angel tears the wrapper; brandishing the mittens for their entire group to gawk at.
"Who made this?"
She shyly waves at Angel to signal that it was her.
It could've been the champagne messing with her, but, as they made eye contact, his expression softens into a sincere smile that erases Carol's worries.
Maybe joining isn't so bad after all.
