A couple days have passed.

Ray POV:

I woke up early and couldn't fall back asleep. I thought about the past few days. What do I do now? A tap on my shoulder startled me.

"Are you okay? You've been staring at the ground for a while," Crumble asked. A while? I checked the clock on the wall. 9:30am.

"Yeah, I was just thinking," I sighed. He smiled at me.

"So what are you two lovebirds up to?" Miff asked, startling us. Ugh, she's always calling us that. Today was our last day at the hotel. We grabbed the keycard and gave it back to the receptionist. I don't get how squirrels are used to trees, it was kinda uncomfortable.

"So, where do we go now?" Crumble asked us. I thought for a moment.

"I guess we get apartments and a job?" Miff told us.

"Well, goodbye... I'll miss you guys..." I said. I searched for apartments and jobs, finally finding them.

A month later...

It was a normal day. I got in my work uniform, ate breakfast, and went to work. A cashier in a local grocery store. I can't believe that only a month ago, I was a lab rat on the loose! Some people ask me about my eyes from time to time, but it's fine. I was thinking of my pet ant, when suddenly, a cat smashed through the glass doors.

"OH FUCK!" I ran out of the store, back to my apartment. I'm not paid enough for that.

Crumble POV:

I was going on a walk, when something behind me picked me up by the collar of my shirt. I looked at what it was. A cat with glass on its sides. Shit.
