26. summer
Oh, the summer shrills in my ears
In the form of cricket chirps
The dry wind char my moist tears
Then replacing nightmares with each apricot slurp.
The bronze leaves are left behind
behind the red tint of my cheek, it shines
under the sunlight that melts the clouds away,
kissing my skin in the shades of twig, which your feet crushed behind.
Chapped lips, the skins cracks
Flowers finding their way, to break the trap
between my lips, seal them with peach flavoured balm,
shimmering in freckles, the gold on bronze does the charm.
In lap, I rest my head,
which is sore 'cause of a thousand (nightmares) headaches
that now escape with each tear,
tears nourishing my petal arms, in their embraces,
you sleep sound, see in your lucid dreams, a thousand faces.
Poppy line up my path
Nature painting them with the softest strokes
Binding the earth with a holly wreath,
The bells of bicycles carry children's laughter in spokes.
The pastel shorts, the aromatic breeze hits my bare legs
Bare feet I take in the few drops on the grass blade,
Unlike my friends and foe, the wind pushes me forward.
Unlike my family, the dew heals a coward.
The sunrays knock the window, followed by the busy bees
Honey trickling like the sweat, through the sweets and feast
so I turn on the fan, let the feast cool down
Feeling the birds fluttering, around me like a mist.
The waterfalls tell a different tale
The gurgling rocks clean up the pain
That their crevices bore for so long
This summer, we shall heal and cure.

A/N
I m starting a new series— seasons.
Would make a divider chapter later.
This helps me write a poem a day. That'll mean 5 poems now hehe.
I m trying to write everyday as I feel poetry is a hobby first and skill later. Thank you for reading and supporting me. I love y'all.
