I hug my family goodbye before stepping into the carriage. I frown looking out at everyone, I didn't want to leave. I didn't ask for any of this. Sebastian steps in after me sitting down across from me.
looking out the window I spot Calida's eyes on me. I don't know what she sees looking in her eyes but it's enough to make her turn and walk off.
My brothers both look at me with pity in their eyes, and lastly I look at my fathers cold gaze. he's still mad at me for running off on my wedding day.
The carriage begins to take off and the father we go the smaller they all look. Once I can't see them anymore I sit back in the seat and look at Sebastian. He's watching me intently, he sighs reaching out and grabbing my hand. "It'll be good for you." He says gently running his thumb over the back of my hand.
I don't say anything the entire way to Sebastian's manor. I mostly just stare absently out the window, it's not until I see the entrance do I say anything. "Nymphs? It's illegal to inslave them." I look at the few earth nymphs wondering around the grounds their grassy body's a giveaway for their kind. I look at Sebastian confused. "What are they doing here?"
"The king tends to look away on such matters, especially when you supply him with so much." Sebastian says turning his gaze out to the earth creatures.
When the carriage stops I immediately hop out ignoring the nymph coming up to open the door for me. I turn to Sebastian getting out the carriage. "You said there was a lake? Where?" I demand.
"I'll show you later darling, let's eat something first." I shake my head, I wanted to scream. I couldn't stay here, I couldn't watch any of this I couldn't live here.
I cringe when I see the nymphs reaching for my bags in the carriage. Sebastian either doesn't care or doesn't notice because he grabs my hand leading me into the manor.
I nearly scream when we go inside. Heads of dead animas line the walls. Unicorns, wolves, even a dragon and many other animals, worst of all is the nymph heads.
"I'm not hungry, I'd rather sleep please." I basically beg Sebastian to let me go to the room and sleep. He complies showing me to my room he called it. Mine, not ours meaning the loving husband act is over with. Thank god for that I don't think I'd be able to handle it.
Sebastian seemed so kind before. I can see the truth though, written in his eyes is the story of a man who is anything but kind. If that's how he treats animals, I don't want to know how he treats people. A light knock on my door pulls me out of my horrible thoughts. "yes?" I answer. The door opens slowly a shaking nymph walks in quickly a pile of things in her arms.
I have to admit nymphs are beautiful creatures, their skin like smooth grass dirt freckles litter her face with green eyes and a small nose. Her hair lays in moss like waves cascading down her back small flowers are woven though her hair and body making her look like walking land. She brushes her hair behind one of her ears catching my eyes. She quickly averts her gaze as if I scare her.
"Hello, what's your name?" I ask her softly. She flinches at my words she sets some things down on my desk, quickly going into the bathroom with the rest of the things, she came in with. "I wont hurt you." I assure her. "Master expects you to join him for dinner." Her voice rings out, she walks out the bathroom with a brush in her hands. She motions for me to sit in a chair, I walk over to it and allow her to run the brush though my hair.
"Does he hurt you?" I find myself asking. The brush pauses but quickly resumes brushing. I huff out a breath when she ignores me. She styles my hair and then shortly after rushes out the room.
I make my way down to the dinning room. Sebastian is there, his feet propped up on the table a glass of amber liquid in his hand. He smiles when he sees me. "At least those nymphs are good at styling." He motions for me to sit at the empty seat across from him, I walk over to it and sit down. He pulls his feet off the table and leans back in his chair. "Your father expects a child you know." He says calmly. My eyes widen as I shake my head. "He can wait a little while."
"Maybe he can, but what about me?" I look at him frowning. "You?" He looks down his nose at me smiling slightly. "You're going to produce me an heir, Lilah." My eyes widen as I shake my head. "I....I don't want to, not yet please." He chuckles softly. "Of course, not now you need to learn how to be a good little wife first. Then Lilah I will get my heir."
"A good wife?" I ask him for clarification. "Yes, I need an obedient women, not one that runs her damn mouth and contradicts everything I say." He growls. I flinch at his words holding my hands in my lap. I wish I wasn't such an obedient daughter and tried to stop this marriage with greater effort.
Sebastian sighs getting up and walking over to me. He grips my chin forcing me to look at him. "Your body has been so tempting darling." He leans down putting his lips on mine. I struggle to pull away but he just grabs my head pushing me to him. He lifts me up slamming me back down on top of the table. I whimper pushing away from him, he finally lets me go panting. "You don't want me now my love, but you will." He walks away then going up the stairs to his room.
When I hear the door slam shut I bury my head in my hands and let out a quiet sob.
