Old friend
Prince Naruto was really a man worthy of the title.
Putting everyone first before him.
But no one is worthy of such kindness. All humans are greedy and they will fight for their own lives, killing others if necessary.
I doubt Naruto realize that yet.
He will be safe with me.
I will never betray him.
"And what if you escape again?" I asked, grabbing his wrists. My filthy blood got onto his skin, his pure and soft skin.
"Rest assured I won't." His eyes remained cold as the snow. I dragged him along. And the general could only lay there in shame.
They were sure to come, searching for the prince again. I need to locate a better hideout.
After what feels like an agonizing journey across the earth, I found an old and abandoned tower in the midst of the tall mountains. When we entered the tower, I noticed the long spiral stairs. My legs grew weak and I tripped on the steps of the stairs in the tower. "Sasuke, your lips are turning pale." Naruto held me as I collapsed.
Why didn't he escape while I was weak?
Was he too afraid that he wouldn't make it out of the mountains alive or was it because he was worried of me?
There was no other way. I had to call my only medic friend, who was a rogue as well.
As bandits, we have a secret and special way of contacting each other.
I was too weak to move around, so Prince Naruto began to panic and offered to him.
First - I need to get hold of a crow.
I advised him since we were in a tall tower it was easy. All he needed was to find a mouse and use it as bait.
It was easy to find a mouse here, in this old abandoned building.
In minutes, The frantic prince ran back with a rat, and the crow came swooping in. I was able to stand up and grabbed it.
Second - I placed the receiver's blood on it's beak and let the bird lick it.
Because of or method, we had to keep a small tube of each other's blood.
Lastly, I put the message between it's beak and I set it free.
It took off immediately, finding the scent of the blood's owner.
Slowly but surely, she will come.
The sun was setting and the wind was getting stronger. This tower wasn't protecting us from the cold. I was laid to rest and my wound bled through the poorly crafted bandage.
I have to disinfect this wound quick. Especially in this cold. Fuck.
Naruto was looking around the tower for broken pieces of wood to start a fire and help keep us warm. I didn't know why but I trusted him to stay with me.
Not long after, he came back with wood. "How are you feeling, Sasuke?"
He placed the wood down and tried to lit them up.
"I'll live." I muttered.
My body warmed up as the fire started. It crackled through the cold and silent night.
Naruto rested beside me, sharing our body heat.
"I hope I'll wake up to see you still alive tomorrow."
"You will."
A sharp pain woke me up and I opened my eyes to Sakura, my old partner that had medical knowledge. I met her from a mission assigned by her ex-boss. And just like me, she was a wanted person and a fugitive.
The only difference between her and I, is that I murdered people.
Even though, I worked with her shortly, I trust her and I would willingly put my life in her hands with no doubts. She was a reliable and hardworking partner. And if I ever needed help(which it's not often), she would be there.
She was taking the bullet out from my shoulder. I groaned in pain. My beloved sat beside her witnessing this, he was filled with worries and concerns. Despite my groans, a slight smile developed. When I look at him, my pain seemed to have lessened.
If I was going to hell after I died, I wouldn't mind. Because I spent my days in heaven with him.
When she finally plucked out the damned bullet, she disinfected the wound and sew my skin shut.
"My palms were injured too." I said huskily.
She turned my hand around to see the deep gashes. "Oh my, Sasuke. Why are you always getting in fights?" She sighed aloud.
"It's what I do." I answered while she began stitching my gashes.
After she patched me up, I thanked her. But before she could leave, I stopped her and moved a good amount of distance away from Uzumaki.
"I have a favor to ask." I tried to keep my volume low.
"Yeah, sure. Shoot." She smiled.
"I have to make some money again so Naruto won't starve. Hand over your latest mission to me, if you can."
Now that I've lost the house with everything I had in it, including food and money, I had to start from square one again. I don't want Naruto to suffer with me.
She nodded understandingly while handing over to me a scroll.
"Meanwhile, would you look after him for me?"
"Yes, sir!" She giggled.
I thanked her again.
She nudged me playfully, "Its no biggie. Come on, where is the Sasuke I know?" She chuckled, "This boy sure means a lot to you, huh?"
"I'm going off now. Thanks again. I'll leave him in your hands."
"Hang on, hang on! You have not recovered!" It was her turn to stop me from leaving.
"I'll recover on the way there."
"But-"
"You must be tired you've travelled day and night to come here. Take a good rest."
After that, I disappeared within her sight.
