⇒ CHAPTER THIRTY

WILMA AND KILLIAN had had an amazing night together, excluding of course the horrendous nightmare she woke up to, but nonetheless, their evening had been much better than the others' — Cora's ghost had showed up, after all, and it had showed Snow the past, what had really happened, and they had learned more about Zelena and why she was so vengeful.

Wilma was informed of this by Emma, who called the next morning, asking for their presence at the inn, and the woman had agreed to come there as soon as possible. Killian stayed behind, assuring that he would be there in a moment, and after the two had kissed once or twice, or a few more times, Wilma had headed out.

She showed up with blush on her cheeks and a smile on her lips, something that Emma instantly pointed out, along with another detail about her — the tired eyes. "Wilma! You're glowing", she grinned, "but seem exhausted too", with a tilt of her head, and opening her mouth, Wilma was about to tell the others what had happened last night, but before she could, David had lifted a hand and interjected with a rapid shake of his head.

"Please, please, don't. I really don't want to know", the prince grimaced, clearly still trying to accept the fact that Wilma and Killian were a thing, something serious, something that was happening, whether Charming liked it or not. Seemingly not. But instead of keeping her mouth shut, Wilma rolled her eyes and turned over to Emma, ignoring David's comment, even though she was actually fighting off a smile. And the temptation to tell about all their kisses and what not, just to tease David and see the look on his face.

"I had a dream last night. Nightmare, really. Zelena showed up and killed me. Finished the job, she said", Wilma shook her head, her loose curls bouncing as she sighed and took a seat next to Snow, encouraging the princess to take her hand and give her a sympathetic look.

Shooting a look of pure worry towards Wilma, Emma shifted on her seat in discomfort at the thought. "Are you sure it was your... seer side, or just a nightmare?", the Savior questioned, nervously looking at Wilma, who could only give a shrug in the lack of knowledge. Indeed, she could never know — maybe it was a plain old nightmare, nothing to worry about, or maybe it was something destined to happen eventually. Maybe she would die tomorrow, maybe Zelena would return after decades and kill Wilma after she had lived a happy, full life. Maybe it was just a dream, nothing more.

"I don't know. I'm hoping for the latter", Wilma looked down, playing with the hem of her shirt, but before she could sink into despair, Regina had walked over to her and kneeled in front of the woman.

Wilma couldn't ask any questions, when Regina's purple magic began to flow through her palm and into Wilhelmina's chest, glowing until she pulled her hand away and stood up again. Wilma felt a little different, confirming that she was under the effects of the queen's magic, but before she could ask what had happened, Regina had explained. "It's a protection spell on your heart. If Zelena comes for you, she'll have to get creative. And get past me", she promised Wilma, flashing her a small smile, which Wilma returned — just a tad wider, though. Nodding gratefully at Regina, Wilma thanked her for the help. Indeed, she would rather stay alive.

"Where's Killian?", Snow then asked, and turning to the princess, Wilma collected her thoughts and remembered that the pirate had promised to be right behind her, only to now miss his touch and the inner peace his presence always caused to land on her now protected heart.

"He, uh, he said he'll come soon", Wilma smiled, and when Regina pointed out that she had no time to wait for the one hand wonder, the group started to talk about defeating Zelena and returning everyone's memories.

The plan that made most sense, was using Henry to do so. He was the one without his memories of Storybrooke at all, and therefore, it was agreed that the curse could be broken by making him believe again. In order to do that, they needed to find the storybook that had given him hope in the first place, but whereas everyone else headed out to do so, Wilma found something else to do. She did want to help, but with all those heroes on the mission to find the book, she was sure she would only end up being in their way, so instead, she decided to do something she had also promised to do.

Parting from her friends, Wilma headed into the woods where the Merry Men had set camp, and it didn't take her very long to find the man she was looking for — Robin Hood. The sight of him made Wilma smile, and lifting a hand as a greeting, the woman approached him and his son, who was quite adorable, too. Much like his father, she supposed.

"Wilma! How may I help you today?", Robin greeted Wilma with a smile and sent his son to play before standing up and locking her eyes with the woman. Inhaling, Wilma looked around the camp, surprised by how cozy it seemed, before setting her eyes back on Robin and flashing another smile at him.

"If I recall correctly, you promised to teach me a little something about shooting arrows a while ago", Wilma grinned, and laughing, Robin grabbed his bow before giving her a simple nod.

  Shall we?"

———

WILMA WAS SURPRISED by how easy it was to follow Robin's lead and learn how to use the bow and arrows, and it seemed the man was quite amazed by her natural talent, as well. It took her a few clumsy attempts and one close call with her almost shooting the arrow into Robin's head, but eventually, Wilma got the hang of it and like the badass she sometimes turned out to be, she ended up shooting arrows into the targets she had left behind in the woods almost as well as she did with a gun loaded with bullets.

Their shooting competition, which Wilma had confidently suggested, was interrupted when Emma called with some news about what had happened, and even though Robin was quite disappointed that he didn't get to prove Wilma wrong after the woman had bravely claimed that she was going to win, he agreed to pick up the competition some other time. The curse had been broken, meaning that Henry also now remembered everything he had been through, and the rest had their memories, as well. Robin included.

The man instantly made his way to Regina, as there seemed to be something between them — which made Wilma rather happy — but Wilhelmina asked Emma for her location, and headed there. She found them in the cemetery of Storybrooke, and at the sight of Neal's grave, her heart sank. Not just that, but Henry was placing a rose on the grave, and Wilma instantly felt her eyes turn wet with tears, unable to comprehend that a boy so young and innocent had lost his own father. She knew what that felt like, although she had been older when she lost her mother, but at that moment, she just wanted to go over to Henry and hug him.

Instead, she leaned onto David, who wrapped an arm around his best friend and held her as they watched Emma and Henry talk. Still, despite the bittersweet moment, Wilma was glad that Henry, and everyone else too, had their memories back. Now they could work harder on defeating Zelena, gain the upper hand and stand victorious in the end.

"We're going to win, Wilma. We're going to be fine", David sighed, rubbing the woman's shoulder comfortingly as he glanced over to her, a small smile dancing on his lips.

Staring fondly into his eyes, Wilma nodded. "I know. It's not like I've predicted it, but I know we will. You always do", she replied whilst lowering her head onto his shoulder, finding comfort in him. And for a moment, it was peaceful, it was quiet — until Snow suddenly yelped, and David flinched away from Wilma, his hands instantly holding onto his wife and a worried look shining in his eyes. Wilma did the same, turned to Snow and stared at her in concern, asking what was wrong.

"It's the baby", Snow breathed out, looking up at her husband, "it's coming."

Emma rushed over to her mother, and the two women started to walk Snow towards the truck which David drove over to them, all of them in a hurry to get the princess to the hospital for a safe delivery. "It's going to be okay", Wilma kept telling Snow, but perhaps it was mostly to assure herself that things would turn out fine — however, she knew that Snow could use the optimism, after all, she had bad experience of giving birth to a child. And especially now that Zelena was after the baby, the risk of losing it again was real, and it caused Wilma to grow worried, as well. Nevertheless, she had trust in David's comforting words, that they were going to win, and with that in mind, she smiled at Snow while holding her hand on the way to the hospital.

David drove like a maniac, passing all the speed limits, but at least they got to the hospital quickly and Dr. Whale could lead Snow into a room where she was lifted onto a bed. Charming stayed with his wife, naturally, whereas Wilma paced back and forth outside in a rather nervous manner, whilst Emma and Regina put a protection spell around the area to ensure Zelena would be held back. However, Regina had little confidence in how effective it was going to be, which only increased Wilma's worry for Snow and the baby's safety. But, her worries were relieved a bit when the man she loved showed up at the hospital.

"Love", Killian greeted Wilma, "I heard about Snow White", and with that, Wilma looked up only to find herself staring into his gorgeous eyes — bringing a wave of relief over her. Sighing, Wilma rushed to his arms, and surprised by the sudden feeling of her body against his, Killian lifted his hand in the air but it didn't take him very long to wrap his arm around the woman and return the hug.

"Where were you?", Wilma questioned as she let go of the pirate, but he had no time to answer, when the woman saw Emma striding towards the exit, and she instantly turned over to her. "And where are you going?", she turned her attention to the Savior, who gave a simple look to Wilma before walking away.

"I'm going to find Zelena", she announced, and in an instant, Wilma felt the need to go with and help her, even though she was sure that Emma could handle herself. Still, Wilma gave a look to Killian, asking if he was going to join them, and with a nod, the man confirmed that she could speak on his behalf as well.

"We're coming with you", Wilma responded casually, and the two rushed after Emma, hand in hand as per usual, but the blonde had other thoughts. Giving a glare to Killian, Emma shook her head, unwilling to take the pirate with her — indeed, Wilma had heard that Emma was now aware of Zelena's curse on Killian's lips, and evidently, she was quite upset that it had been kept a secret from her. "Listen, I didn't tell you either. But you can either be grumpy about it — which is already Leroy's job, by the way — or you can accept the fact that we want to help you. Please, Emma", Wilma begged after the woman had insisted on leaving Killian behind, as obviously, Wilhelmina wasn't up for that.

Grunting, Emma sighed. "Fine, he can come with us", she simply replied, and with that, she turned on her heel and started to walk away.

Wilma flashed a grin at Killian, nodding with assurance. "We'll be fine", she insisted and squeezed his hand slightly, causing Killian to smile as well. If only she knew how terribly things were going to go.
