Chapter 11
Chapter 11- A Compromise
"What?" Marco asked a little shocked, and your little answer caused a big ruckus in the court.
"I never cared for humanity then, I do not care for it now. I don't mine seeing the crimson blood leak down on the ground, and see people dying, I've seen it all before, so why should things be different? But, I see that there might be a chance for humanity to rise again and stop these Titans, if you could just place trust on ones who you think could end humanity," You explained loudly and sternly.
Silence was heard again as Zachary nodded and hummed.
"I see, and more reports say that you had try to kill and eat Tenko Shimura, and possible kills were done by you, is that correct?" He asked you.
"I have tried to kill Tenko Shimura, yes. But the corpses that you believed I've killed were already dead by 'Titans'," You bluntly answered.
"Objection, we also have reports of the unnamed civilian not just killing Titans, but saving cadets as well. Such as Marco Bott and Sasha Blouse," You heard the voice of Commander Pyxis stated.
"And who are these people the civilian saved?" Zachary asked.
"Us sir! Marco Bott and Sasha Blouse!" Marco raised his hand.
"Alright then, is it true they have saved you?" He asked them.
"That's true sir! While taking back the HQ for more tank gas, they have saved me from a Titan when I ran out of gas!" Sasha said with a shaky, yet strong tone.
"And me! When my eye was heavily injured, and I was in a hysteric blindness, they have saved me by grabbing me close and taking me to safety!" Marco stated in a same.
'I told you saving people could benefit you! More people on your side means more of people turning a blind eye when you hunt for meat!' The second voice said, and you gotta agree with that statement. Whispers were thrown around in the court and you heard the voices in your head told you that you could live another day.
"Objection! We can't trust what they say! We have no idea what that is is and what it could do! For all we know, the cadets are brainwashed to think that!" The pastor shouted.
"Maybe they are killers too! Maybe they will kill us all right now!" The merchant accused, pointing at Marco and Sasha.
"You hold up now! They're not doing anything wrong! I've been with them and they know the civilian as much as you!" Jean shouted at him, giving him a dirty glare.
"What would you know huh?! You're probably part of this as well! Hang all of them!" The pastor and Nile shouted.
"Order!" Zachary banged his fist against the desk, and he turned to you.
"What do you think?" He asked you.
'Tell them you think that they could stick it in their asses!' The voice shouted.
'Oh lord and heaven,' The second voice muttered as you felt your hands tug at the chains slightly.
"I don't care what happens to me, the life I am living is nothing but absolute hell. I work for no one, I work with no one, I am all alone in this world. Accuse all you want of others, I work alone always," You stated.
"In fact," Drool started to fill your mouth and your eyes dilated slightly.
"I could take all of you out and eat your fragile and fat necks," Your turned your direction to the Military regiment, who's eyes widen and they backed up.
"But yet, here I sit, chained up, muzzled, and at your mercy. So try and hang me, I wouldn't mind at all if you wrap something around my neck. It might feel good before sweet death takes over," You finally had a small smile on your face, feeling nothing else but blood lust.
"See?! It's nothing but a murderous, dangerous, and disgusting monster who should be-"
"NO!!"
'Gasp! A plot twist! He was here all along!' The second voice said as Tenko finally got a man's hand off of his mouth and he ran over to you. Turned out he was near the door where you entered, but someone covered his mouth and held onto him so Tenko wouldn't say anything during court.
"Hey! Grab the kid!" A man shouted, and you turn your head to see Tenko struggling against an man named Levi's grip.
"Oi, brat, you better stop of else," He hissed.
'Oh that does it, let me at him!' The voice snarled and was about to take over, but Tenko spoke up again.
"They're not a monster! They're not disgusting! They have every right to survive just like everyone else!" He cried out, tears falling down his face. You stared at him in confusion. Was he really defending you? What they all said, what they all claimed about you, it was true after all. You weren't gonna deny it, but yet here Tenko was, wanting you to live.
"Cannibal is my savior! They needed to eat! Or else they were going to hurt more people other than me! I didn't care about myself, but I wanted others to survive and Cannibal to have control again! It wasn't their fault that they are not a pig like you all!!" He glared at the Military and continued to struggle against Levi, who listened carefully at him.
"All you do is lay around and eat like a goose getting ready to be butchered for the winter! Cannibal couldn't control themselves, and I was the one who gave the corpse to them! I found a dead body and brought it to them! They say that they didn't care for me, but yet they have saved me multiple times and protected me like a parent! You all are cowards, pissing yourselves while I stood by their side!!"
"Cannibal stopped a Garrison leader from killing Eren Yeager, and thus giving you a chance of gaining back what was ours! They killed more Titans than you fat pigs will ever kill! They are a gift, my guardian angel, and I'll defend them to the very end! I'll help Cannibal, I'll help them to control their urges, I'll help them show that they still have humanity in them!" Tenko's shouts echoed through the court room, no one said a single word.
Tenko then held out a a granola bar that was stored from his pocket.
"This is proof that they have some bit humanity left! When I was alone, scared, and lost, they have saved me from a Titan! A-and then they gave me this when I was hungry! It's called a granola bar, and they shared it right after taking me to a safe place!" He stated, hands shaking as he gripped the bar.
"Please! ...please... I don't have anyone else..." He shed his tears and spilled onto the wooden floor, hiccuping through his broken sobs. Levi still held onto Tenko, taking in his words.
'That killer could be tamed? Tch, piece of cake,' He thought.
"Sir, I have a proposition," Erwin finally spoke up after Tenko's speech.
"Proceed," Zachary nodded.
"We still don't know anything about the unnamed civilian, so I suggest that they should be under supervision by Captain Levi just like Eren Yeager, and we should continue the expedition, proving that they have morality," He explained.
"I don't mind that, if you fail, you have every right to kill me," You piped in, nodding at every word.
'Ha! Like anyone would ever train you like some animal!' The voice darkly laughed.
"Then I have made my choice," Zachary stood up and placed his hands on the desk. Sasha and Marco stared with anticipation, while Jean gulped his fear down.
"The unnamed civilian will live and be supervised under the Scout regiment," He declared, making Tenko sigh in relief, collapsing on his knees.
Marco and Sasha also sighed in relief, and Jean humming.
"Great. Anyways," You stood up on your feet, and held out your chains that were supposed to hold you, unlocked and looking at them.
"Where should I put these?" You questioned.
"WHAT THE HELL?! WERE YOU LIKE THAT THE WHOLE TIME?!"
"Yeah,"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Why did you lie?" You asked Tenko as you two were waiting for the scouts to come in another room after the court was over.
"I could see in your eyes, you were bullshitting through half of what you said. Why go that far of shedding fake tears just to let a killer free?" You explained, more than curious and amused. Tenko simply smiled and looked at you with determination.
"I knew there was no one who could take you, nor you having any control of your urges, but like I said before. I'm going to be with you even if it kills me, and I'm pretty sure it will," Tenko smiled, his chapped lips showed his toothy smile and beamed at you.
'My heart! My non existent heart!' The voice dramatically said. You felt something, you felt extremely overwhelmed bout what you're feeling. You didn't know what it was, and it confused you.
"You're going to regret this one day, ya know that right?"
"Mhm, but right now. I don't regret a single thing,"
"Good,"
