In which her near death experience is caused by a can

Rania's pov

I groaned into my soft pillow as Laiths voice booms up the stairs again, "Rania seriously get your butt out of bed right now!" I sigh and look at my alarm clock, it's only one pm.

"LAITH IT'S TOO EARLY!" I yell before smashing back under my pillows. I gulp as I hear his boots thump up the stairs and towards my room. My bedroom door creaks and I stuff myself more under the comforter.

"We have to go grocery shopping." He says agitated and throws a teddy bear at me. He walks towards the window and pulls the blinds up, the sun burns into my eyes making me wince. He stands there with his arms on his waist glaring, I'm about to say something when I notice a half naked body emerge from the window across.

Grabbing my duvet I pull it over my head and hold it together under my chin. Laith looks at me confused before looking over his shoulder, his eyes widen as he sees Maaz putting a shirt on while singing to himself.

"Oh hey there neighbours! Lovely morning we're having aren't we?" He says noticing us. His moves closer to the window as Laith does the same, I watch as he whsipers harshly to him and try to strain my ears to hear what he's saying.

"Gosh Laith calm down, I'm not doing anything." He says running a hand through his hair while leaning against his window sill. He looks behind my brothers shoulder and laughs wildly as he sees me. "Oh my god, you look like a puffy marshmellow!"

"Yeah well you look like a burnt one," I grumble out but he hears me and pauses his laughing ready to retort. Before he can do so Laith puts his hand up and says, "don't call each other food, both of you are too ugly for food. Now goodbye Maaz." We both glare at Laith and he quickly pulls the blinds down.

I take my comforter off and run a hand through my wild hair. "Be ready in ten." He says ruffling my hair even more and walking out the door, I growl slightly patting it back down and get out of bed.

I walk across my carpeted floor and into my bathroom, when you have rich parents, you have a rich house. It's not too big, but then again it's not modern either. We have about six rooms but they're mostly all in the left wing, where everything's ancient and lonely. The only neighbour we have is Maaz's family who's house is sort of like ours but they use their whole house since his family is always bustling around.

He has three older sisters, and a grandma who can be so...hyper sometimes. His dad owns about three restaurants here in Australia while his mom stays at home and cooks a lot.

It's only Laith and I in this large space so we decided on just living in a portion of it, the rest isn't old, creaking and dusty but just really hollow. Our parents own an agricultural firm in almost five countries, the newest one being in America, so they left us here in Australia with tonnes of money and a 'be safe don't do anything crazy'.

We used to live in Canada, but when they opened another firm here in Australia we had to move. I didn't mind it though, Australia's beautiful not to mention how warm it is here.

I finish washing up and head to my closet, making sure the blinds arnt going up any time soon, I start changing into my lazy day clothes. A pair of sweats and a FC Barcelona sweatshirt. I grab a read scarf and wrap it around my head pinning it down, I fluff it up a bit and add some lip balm to my almost dry lips.

I fold my comforter up since I know how much Laith hates it when I don't and walk out of my room. I take the spiralling stairs slowly but then decide in not wasting my energy and slide down the banister instead.

I land gracefully at the bottom and Laith stands there looking at me amused, "you're such a child." Taking the Nutella sandwich from his outstretched hand I mumble, "says the guy who has a jam stain on his pants."

He looks down at his pants and sighs, "Frick," he mumbles and rubs at it, it doesn't look like it's going away soon and he sighs. "Alright finish that up, let's get going." He says grabbing his keys and our grocery list from the fridge, I finish up my sandwich and grab a small chocolate milk bottle, following him out.

As we walk down the driveway to Laiths car, he stops suddenly, waving. I look towards my left and notice Maaz's mum planting.

"Asalamaliakum Aunty! How are you?" Laith asks kindly as I chip in my own salaam. She replies to both us with a smile, "walaikum asalam dears, Alahmdulliah I'm great! How are you two?"

Laith nods with smile replying, "we're good too Alahmdulliah, we were actually just about to go grocery shopping, do you need anything?" She taps her fingers against her hand in though before producing a smile, "oh yes yes, if you wouldn't mind that is."

Laith shakes his head, "nope," she smiles brightly saying, "Ok jazakallah, we just need a few items, cheese, milk, eggs, tomatoes, onio-- actually how about Maaz goes with you?"

Laith laughs nodding his head, "yes aunty maybe that's a better idea." I choke on my chocolate milk, as Aunty scuttles into her house, I glare at Laith harshly saying, "why'd you do that! He's just going to be annoying throughout the whole thing!" Laith rolls his eyes, "don't be so immature Rania, besides we're helping her out."

I pout but he smiles and looks away, I sigh and impatiently  wait until Aunty pops back out tugging at Maaz's ear to hurry along. I can't help but grin as he winces. "Lazy guy fell back asleep I'm sorry," she says as Maaz walks towards us rubbing his ear.

Laith continues talking to her as I glare at Maaz, he glares right back mumbling, "this is your fault." My eyes widen, "how the hell is it my fault? I don't wanna go grocery shopping with you!"

He rolls his eyes tiredly, "it just is your fault." I cross my arms against my chest, "yeah we--"

I get cut off as Laith wraps one arm my shoulder and the other around Maaz steering us to his car, "children, children, please do shut up."

I take his arm off me and sit inside the passengers seat, Maaz gets into the back while Laith takes his sweet time coming to the drivers side. "Ruin anything in here and I'll ruin your face." He says pointing at the both of us.

Sometimes I suspect Laith loves his car more than me. "Go ahead and ruin his, maybe it'll make it look better." I say looking out the window.

"Says the girl who puts on a cake of makeup." I turn around in my seat and glower, "listen here you little turd, do you see this face? It's all natural, so that was technically a compliment. Really good to know you find me attractive." He bites his lip and suddenly pokes my cheek, I growl as he studies his finger, "well would you look at that, nothing. I'll give you this one Rainy."

I cock my eyebrow at him before turning back around and playing candy crush on my phone. Laith looks into the rearview mirror and says, "you better not find her attractive Maaz," I roll my eyes and continues tapping away.

"Can't find something attractive when it never was." He says with an evident smirk, "right back at cha." I say monotonously.

Nothing comes back and I smirk, I see I won, well maybe for now.

------

"Idiot."

"Loser."

"Shallow frog."

"Stupid fly that the frog eats."

"Oh burn, here take some ice," I high five Laith as he tosses an ice pack at grumbling Maaz.

He throws the ice pack into the shopping cart and gazes down at me with beady eyes. Laith rolls his eyes as we intensely glare at each other and goes back to scrounging the shells for pasts sauce.

"Listen here Rainy-"

"Rania." I interrupt with a smirk.

"No I'll call you whatever I want. Now listen here, I don't know where I'm going with this threat but feel threatened." I salute mockingly and turn around helping Laith.

"You need some lessons man," Laith says to Maaz as he grabs a pasta bag and throws it into the cart. "It's only your sister bro, every other girl loves me."

I start choking on my own breath from laughing too hard, other customers look at me as if I'm high but I just seriously heard the funniest thing ever. Maaz smirks, "don't try to hide your jealousy with a laugh Rainbear."

I wipe the tears in my eyes and make a puking gesture, "you wish and never call me that again," he shrugs and pushes the cart after Laith. I start to follow but before I know it my foot rolls out in front of me and I'm on the ground in pain.

"Ouch." I grumble rubbing my behind as I kick the stupid can that made me fall away. Maaz starts laughing like a retarded hyena as Laith sighs rubbing his face.

Well I see I'm not getting any help soon.
