Chapter 6

Finally, after around half an hour of walking through A Forest of Mystiche Kreaturen, the two soldiers came across a gate. It was not just any old wooden gate attached to a rotting wooden fence. This gate was metal and polished so much that not only the sun reflected off of it, but both Eleanor and Salvador could see themselves in it; as well as the forest behind them.

The gates handles caught Salvador's attention straight away, they were the same ornate design as the key Eleanor had used earlier. The design being the vines that twisted around each other, with small leaves engraved on as extra detail. However, the gates handles were not the same polished silver of the gates, they were the same bronze, rusted colour as Eleanor's key. Yet again Salvador knew he'd seen the symbol of the vines before, but he just couldn't remember where. He dismissed the thought, knowing that if it was important he would have remembered.

There were two middle aged men stood either side of the gate. They each held a spear in their left hand, the silver blade glistening in the sunlight and the polished wood gave the impression that the Drei Occhi and Ijoba took pride in how they looked.

Various symbols of flowers, leaves and vines were tattooed on their necks and sides of their faces. These men were unlike anything Salvador had ever seen before; in a good way. Salvador had spent his whole life living in the mountains of the East, so coming across civilizations he hadn't seen before immediately sparked a new interest in the planet hr lives on and the inhabitants that also lived on the same planet as him.

''Eleanor Navarro, Salvador Cymont, welcome to The Forest of Ibarra. Please respect our laws beliefs and cultures,'' The man on the left spoke, while the other opened the gate, allowing the two soldiers through.

''How does everyone know my name and where I'm from? When I've never been here before,'' Salvador asked Eleanor, as they passed through the gate and into the Forest of Ibarra.

''Probably Nox,'' Eleanor replied, which didn't help Salvador in the slightest because he had no idea who or what Nox was. He was going to ask, but the shrill sound of a women shouting didn't give him a chance.

''Eleanor, oh my god, your back,'' Eleanor recognised the voice immediately as Isabella's, her best friend. Eleanor had known Isabella since they were around three years old. Their parents had met during a meeting that had been called by the chief of The Ibarra Forest. The two girls had unwillingly attended, but in the end they didn't mind because otherwise they wouldn't have met and become friends.

''Where are you?'' Eleanor called up to the trees, wondering which one her friend was currently sat in.

Immediately, after Eleanor had spoken a figure came into view on the edge of a balcony that around the trees in the forest. It was hard to tell whether it was a man or woman because they were so high up.

Eleanor and Salvador both watched as the figure grabbed a long vine, which dangled from the treetops; before then pushing themselves off the wooden walkway swinging down to the ground.

''Wow,'' Salvador breathed out, not having seen anything like it before; it was needless to say he was amazed. Both girls ignored his comment and instead pulled each other into a bone crushing hug.

When the girls pulled away it was obvious that Isabella was a Ijoba. What made it obvious was one, she didn't have three eyes; only two and they were both gold. The second was her skin was what you'd call olive, (just like Salvador's) where as Eleanor's was very pale, like most Drei Occhi. The third was that Isabella had long dark hair that was styled in a very elaborate plat that held various flowers, which were slotted at the side of her head. Eleanor's hair was shoulder length, a light blonde colour that was much like her fathers had been.

''I can't believe you're back, it's been almost three years since you last visited,'' The Ijoba girl spoke completely oblivious to the fact that Salvador was stood rather awkwardly near them.

''I know, I know, but I'm here now and I brought a friend with me,'' Eleanor replied gesturing to where Salvador was stood.

''Hi,'' He greeted nervously putting his had up to show he had been there all along.

''What's your name?'' The question itself was fine. However, it was the way Isabella had said it, was less fine; by Eleanor's point of view. Isabella had almost spat out the words, demanding Salvador's name. Eleanor had never seen her friend speak to someone in that way before and it worried her; seeing the aggressive tone Isabella had used.

''Izzy what the hell, since when have you been so rude?'' Eleanor had dragged Izzy away from Vador, so she could speak to her in private.

''I'm sorry, it's just Nox has been talking,'' Isabella confesses hanging her head, knowing she shouldn't have snapped at Eleanor's friend.

''Nox is always talking and half the things she says are never true,'' Eleanor said, hoping to get the Ijoba girl to stop worrying.

''But it involves you, she said you'd come back, unexpected and not alone,'' Izzy explained, as Eleanor tried not to show Izzy her panicked expression.

''Why are you suddenly listening to Nox again, as I said she is never ever right,'' Eleanor wanted Isabella to give into defeat and change the subject, but she didn't.

''But it's about you, when it comes to telling the future and you're involved somehow she always gets it right Ellie. The time she said, that a Drei Occhi child born in may would become the first Women solider to join the army,'' As Isabella spoke she reached up to touch Eleanor's necklace, which had the sign of Gemini engraved on it, telling everyone Eleanor had been born on May 24th (the date was written on the back).

''Yeah but she didn't say it was me though,'' Eleanor countered getting board of the convocation, mainly because it was leading them nowhere.

''Yes but everybody knew you were the one who wanted to join. Just admit it, Nox can only predict your future and nobody knows why,'' Eleanor couldn't deny it any more; she had to admit to Izzy that she had a feeling that Nox was somehow connected to her.

''Ok, maybe you're right, but what else has Nox said about my visit?'' Eleanor asked.

''She said you'd come with terrible news, please tell me that's not true,'' Izzy begged.

''I'm sorry I can't,'' Eleanor hated being the one that had to bring the bad news.

''So I guess that's Salvador,'' Isabella said cocking her head in the direction of where the Batalanto soldier stood waiting for them to finish. Eleanor nodded in reply.

''And before you say anything I need to speak with Iris. Then I'll tell you th news,'' Eleanor said, walking away and towards Salvador, ending the convocation between her and Isabella.

''Vador meet Isabella, Isabella Salvador,'' Eleanor introduced the two to each other seeing ad they hadn't actually met yet.

''Are we going to have to climb up there?'' Salvador asked while the group of three walked closer to where Isabella had swung down from.

''Don't worry there are stairs,'' Eleanor reassured him, even though it didn't help the fact that Vador was terrified of heights.

Isabella led the way behind a big oak tree that had wooden steps around it, going up in a spiral.

''I hope all your training in the army has paid off, because it's going to a long walk,'' Isabella commented as the three begun to climb up the stairs. Salvador's and Eleanor's combat boats made loud thuds that echoed though the forest on each step. However, Isabella made no sound since she was barefoot.

After what seemed like days, Eleanor, Salvador and Isabella finally reached the top of the staircase. At the top they were met with a wall of noise. Men, Women, Children, Drei Occhi and Ijoba were everywhere. Many stopped what they were doing when they noticed the two soldiers enter the walkway.

Upon seeing Eleanor the people begun to whisper and Eleanor was sure she heard the name Nox repeated more than once.

''Why don't we go and see Iris, before you got to your parents,'' Isabella suggested earning nod from Eleanor. However, no reply came from Salvador as he was trying to get to grips with being so high up. Salvador did not like heights at all.

''Vador, you coming?'' Eleanor called as her and Izzy begun to walk off fighting through the busy crowd, who were going about their normal day.

''Yeah, wait up,'' Salvador shouted back making his way through the crowd to catch up with the two girls.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

''They are coming, the prophecy is beginning to come true and soon I will be set free,'' Nox repeated to herself as she sat alone staring, staring at what she saw from behind the bars in her cage. How she longed to be free, well she wouldn't have to wait much longer.
