Min

I was amazed of seeing monsters appear. It seems real , as I know it wasn't. It is very different compared to Vanguard. 

The boy I bumped earlier notices me, as if things had been weirder for him to notice I was watching within the crowd. 

"You met Yugi Moto, the King of Games, I take it?" A boy said, as I yelp of the boy's appearance. 

"Sorry I scare ya. It's very cool that you had taken an interest in Duel Monsters. " 

"Duel what?" I ask the boy, unfamiliar of the name. "Duel Monsters is a card trading game that is quite popular here in Domino City. 

You see Yugi, the boy fighting against? He's one of the top players in Duel Monsters. No one can beat him. That's why he's name the King of Games.  I'm Joey Wheeler, I'm his best friend by the way." 

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Joey. My name is Min Li. I'm not from here." I replied to him. 

As I was watching the duel, I felt something wasn't right. 

Laughter boomed through the horizon, as I ran through the throng, as I immediately knew it was trouble. 

I gasp of what I had saw before me.. it was an Unit! But how?

Yugi

Mokuba and I were having a blast of our exhibition match up until laughter boomed through the crowd. 

Mokuba asks, "What was that?" I didn't know the answer either , but there was an monster I never seen before. 

"You will be destroyed! Your precious game of Duel Monsters and Vanguard will be no longer exist! " The monster said, as I was in utter shock. 

The crowd ran in panic , as the monster made everything collapsing as Mokuba said, "Yugi! Watch out!" 

As the piece of the building was coming towards me, an familiar voice yelled, "Stand up my Avatar, Blaster Girl!" 

The monster appears and protected me. In front of me was the girl I bumped into. 

She sighs, "What a relief, you're safe. " 

She turns to the monster, "What is the meaning of this, I thought an Unit from Planet Cray couldn't make it to Earth. So how could you be here, threating innocent people?!?"

"I take it that you're a Cardfighter, I see. Although, yes, I'm from Planet Cray, but every Unit is very happy and disbursing. I couldn't bear it, so I decided to eliminated the happiness of the Clans of Vanguard and destroy anything releated to card games! " He declared. 

"No way I'm going to let you hurt anyone else, or Vanguard! Blaster Girl, make this unit go away! Seek the Mate! Call Queen Genevie! Attack!" 

The Unit went away, "This is the beginning, you will suffer. " 

The monster disappears as the girl sigh, "I guess that this would mean that Vanguard is in trouble, again. Geez , I don't have any break have I?" 

She puts the cards into her deck of cards I never seen before, as she turns towards me. 

"Are you ok, Yugi? I am glad I was able to save you from that. Although, revealing my Avatar like that, I guess you have tons of questions , as I have for you too. " She said. 

I nod, "Do you have a place to stay? You can crash in my place, it's not far from here. " 

We went to the Game Shop residence as she exclaims, "You live in a game shop?!? " 

"Yeah, this surprises you? " I ask her as she waves it off, "No, no. I was amazed because I have a friend back home who also has a Game shop too as his house." 

We went upstairs to my room which she sat at my bed. 

"I guess I should introduce myself, huh? I'm sorry that I didn't tell you my name earlier when we met. My name is Min Lin. I'm a Cardfighter from Kanto. 

That thing you saw... is a Unit. Units come from Planet Cray, and it's a real place. We Cardfighters play a game called "Vanguard"which the Cardfighter play against one other. It's a trading card game that spreads nationwide. It's very popular, just like Duel Monsters." Min explains. 

"So, you are quite familiar with weird stuff happening right, so basically it's normal for you?" I ask. 

"Basically. I been through a lot , and you seem like a nice guy, Yugi. I guess I have someone to help me out with this problem. First thing tomorrow, we go to Card Capital to see my best friends . They'll help us out. Also bring your duel disk with you." Min said. 

"Wait, why would I bring my duel disk? Is something wrong?" I ask her. She waves, "No, it's just I have this sense it would be handy, since our worlds are collided now. It would make sense if a Duel Monster suddenly appears out of nowhere and I don't know anything about Duel Monsters like you do." 

"Good point. So, Blaster Blade is your top monster , huh?" I said, looking at it. 

"You could say that. It's just it's a special Unit to me. I feel an connection to my cards in a special way.  I guess I'm kind of weird , huh?"

"Nah, you don't know what my friends and I had to do in order to protect Duel Monsters . Things always happen to me. Count on it. " 

"I guess. Let's get some rest. " Min suggested.

The next morning, we head to the train station. I still felt queasy of seeing Aichi since he left for the University in U.S, but Kamui told me that he's back home for summer break. 

"This is going to be awkward , for me. " Yugi said, as I looked at the duelist.  "You'll be fine, besides you'll experience Vanguard for the first time. There's no shame in that,  Yugi. " 

Yugi notices the view on his window, "So, that's Kanto?" 

I smiled at the view of my home, as I touched my chest,  remembering about the thrill of the game, all the memories I had of playing Vanguard. 

"Yeah, that's where it all began. Com'on, Yugi!" I said, couldn't wait to see Kamui and the others again. 

"Hey, wait up!" Yugi said , trying to keep up with me. As I continued running, I bumped into a teen as he was heading into my direction. 

"Ooh. I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going. " I apologized , helping the teen up. 

"No problem. I was heading to Card Capital 2 . I was supposed to meet Kamui . " He said. The name shocked me. 

"Wait, how you know Kamui? Is that mean you're a Cardfighter too?" I asked as Yugi finally caught up with me. 

"Indeed I am. I'm Taiyou Asukawa. " 

"There's Taiyou! The member of Team Striders!" Someone yelled at us as Taiyou said, "Not again. I have to escape these fans." 

Yugi said, pulling his arm, "Lead the way, Taiyou!" 

We ran as fast we could as we made it to the Card Capital 2 shop. 

I looked at the building. "Whoa. Shin owns this too, amazing!" 

The door opens as we saw a lot of people inside. Yugi's eyes beamed with wonder, as I exhale in total happiness that I came back. 

"Welcome back, Tayio! I see you brought some friends." A blond-hair boy said to Tayio, as he came up to us. 

"Yeah, they came just when a crowd began to clobber me with autographs again, Shion. I didn't get your names yet." Taiyou realizes. 

I saw the person I wanted to see since I left. It was Kamui. He seems taller now and I wasn't too suprised at all that he's winning a Cardfight. 

"Chrono, you'll lose this time! " Kamui said to a player he was facing against. 

Taiyou sighs, "Chrono vs. Kamui again, huh? They never stop, do they, Shion?" 

"You know Chrono. He's never going to change , considering he won the Under 20, and being a Generation Master. " 

Yugi asks, "A Generation Master? Under 20? Min, what's Shion talking about?" 

As I was about to answer, Kamui lost the Cardfight. 

"Ha!! What about that, Kamui? I beat you again.  " Chrono declares his victory. 

"You and your Gear Chronicle Clan is sure strong, I give you that. You may win today, but sooner or later I'm going to beat you ." Kamui said. 

I smiled as I tiptoed silently as I possibly can as I closed his eyes and said, "Wow, Kamui. You really had changed a lot since we last Cardfight. " 

"That voice. " Kamui said.

After the fight with Chrono, I felt someone's hand covering my eyes. "Wow, Kamui. You really had changed a lot since we last Cardfight." 

I knew that voice. I never thought it was her. "That voice." I said. 

I turned around to see it was Min, along with Taiyo and Shion, with an unfamiliar person. 

"Min! Welcome home!" I said, hugging her tightly as she seems to be relieved to see me. "Thanks, Kamui. It's good to see you." 

"Kai told me what happened back at the Moon Place with Big Bro. Man, I wished I've could've seen it in action." 

"Oh, he did, didn't he? Where's Kai? Isn't he here with you?" She asks me. 

"No. But Big Bro would be arriving here in the shop later in the afternoon, so no biggie. Who's that with you by the way?" 

"This is Yugi Moto. He's a Duelist , and um, we have a problem." 

Min told me of the situation as my mind was in total shock. "An Unit came from Planet Cray, threating Vanguard and Duel Monsters? That's really bad. I'm glad you got saved by Min, Yugi. She's the best Cardfighter. " 

She rubs her head, "No. I'm not really that great as Aichi or Kai yet." 

I grin, "Speaking of wich, how about we celebrate your return by having a Cardfight? "

"Oh, really? You know... it really makes it feel nostalgic, it really take me back memories , including with Kourin. " 

I was silent as Min realizes what she had said. "Oh, right. I totally forgotten she doesn't have her memories back. My bad. Let's go!" 

We went to the start of the board as she and I placed the zero card in the inner circle. 

"How about we battle it out in the Royal Sanctuary? It is great place and it's also we can have a serious Cardfight. " 

"That's fine, but I'll be the victor. " I said. 

"Stand up, Vanguard!" 

Yugi 

Chrono said, looking at me, "You never seen a Cardfight before, right. Now, to explain, there is a parallel world between us and the world called Planet Cray. It's a real place where the cards in the deck are living in peace. 

The deck has 50 cards . You also must have Grades 1, 2, and 3, in your starting hand. If you don't like the cards you have in your hand, you can get rid of them and reshuffle them in the deck. 

Oh, I almost forgot the most important part. You have to imagine." 

"Imagine?" I ask the Cardfighter. Taiyou nods, carrying the rules of the game, "It's the Core of game. In each match, you will be stronger wither you win or lose. It's an amazing game. 

Also, you might be wondering what "Vanguard " means. It means  "The one who leads the way." Chrono was my mentor , as Kamui taught him. " 

"The main point is to also have to be the first person to reach 6 damage. It's a fast-pace game. I'm surprised that Min is a Cardfighter. Can she really keep up with-" Shion said. 

"Here I come! Shining in the holy nation, I crave in my own future! Come forth, my Avatar, Blaster Girl! " 

The solider appears as I saw her in Planet Cray as Kamui seems to form a smile, "Well, that is so you, Min. I see familiar faces. You still use the Royal Paladins, I see." 

Min nods, as she said, "Yeah, I kept the deck since I graduated from Miyaji Academy, and I keep harnessing my skills best I can. Remember this?

Seek the Mate!" 

Kamui's eyes widen, "Oh, man. Not that. Geez, Min, you're not making this any easier on me! " 

"What was that?" I ask. 

"Whatya know. She can do Legion. I'm impressed , but can Kamui counter it?" Chrono asks. 

As the fight was so intense, Min's eyes glowed. "Are you ready, Kamui?" 

"Yeah, I'm ready. B-Bring it on!" Kamui said. 

The fight was ended by Min, who seems tired from the fight. "You ok? " I asked, being worried. 

"I'm fine , Yugi. I guess I overdid it a little. " She explains as Kamui puts his hands to his hips, "You really outdid it with using your Psyqualia though. Even though, I never thought of seeing it in action , considering what we been through." 

At the same moment, a blue-haired boy appeared in the shop, as Chrono exclaimed, "Aichi, I thought you had to be with your sister ." 

"Emi had things to do and told me that I should be heading to the shop. She can take care of herself-" Aichi explains as his eyes widen of Min's sudden appearance. 

"Hiya, Aichi! I'm home. " Min said casually as the room was silence .
