Priya spoke to her dad about preetha going to the city.Though her dad was reluctant at first but knowing karan is going to accompany her as he has some work,her dad agrees.Preetha prepares for the interview fully the next day.She is not worried about dance practice as she had been doing it since the past 10 days,she knows the bride team that is her team would win for sure as they practiced really hard,she wants to win mainly she wants to defeat karan.

INTERVIEW DAY

Next day early in the morning,karan is standing near the car.

Karan(to himself): Ahhh ..... Kaha hein yeh ladki? Arey hame jaldi jaana hein.......after reaching there it will take nearly 2 hours to enter into the city and if traffic is much it would take more than that.Doesn't she know this? Idiot girl.........wait why am I even waiting for her?No she is making me wait for her I know this.She is......she is.......ok Cool karan Cool.Babhi kelieye bas.....

Scholding her and himself,he is waiting for her patiently may be no irritably when he sees a person coming out of the mansion.As it's early in the morning nobody woke up and as the fog covered the mansion completely he could just see that person obscurely.

As the person runs in his direction the fog gets cleared slowly revealing the person's face and blowing Karan's mind.The person is ....... Preetha!

She is few metres away from him then he sees her completely and clearly.She is wearing a red chudidar with matching earrings and bangles.While she is running with a bag in her hand,her hair is flying in the air and her eyes glow seeing him.

She reaches him and pants heavily because of her running and the fog too.She is holding her knees and trying to inhale as much as possible when her hair covers her face.Composing herself,she tucks her hair revealing her beautiful face.He then observes the white bindi adorning her fresh face and her wet hair.He is blown.

For a minute or two,he forgot everything and got completely out of zone just looking at her.

Preetha: Chale?

Karan doesn't speak,

Preetha: Karan chale?

He is just looking at her from top to toe,she frowns and shakes him.

Preetha: Karan.......

he then comes out of his world......he even dont know where his world is and why he went there.he sees preetha who is looking at him wierdly,

Preetha: Are you ok?

Karan: h....ha me..mein theek hu (she still sees him)......waise thum kaise kapde pehenke ayi ho?thum interview keliye jaa rahi ho kisi event keliye nai.

Preetha: mujhe pata hein wo baath par mein yahi dresses layi thi.shaadi heina isiliye.........mein college mein change karlungi.and also this is my lucky dress aur mujhe laga ki aaj interview hein so luck tho hona chahiye (excited) and last but not the least it looks so pretty on me.Isnt it?

She is smiling seeing herself and karan looks at her for a second but averts immediately,  

Karan: yeah ofcourse(she smiles widely)......bas bache ke saamne math jaana.

Preetha: kyun?

Karan: chudail samjhke bahot royenge......aur unke parents thumhe bahot maarenge.I don't want your face to be bad than this.

And her smile gets replaced by a frown but she doesn't want fight in the early morning,so she fakes a smile,

Preetha: thumhara nai......mera hein.(he frowns) its my fault to ask you.

Karan(smiling): finally thum maan hi liya ki thumhara fault hein.I am very happy. (suddenly pointing his finger) ab tho samaj gaya na har baar galthi thumhara hi hein.

She widen her eyes and she loses her control,

Preetha: No ......(pointing her finger) its not my fault everytime.Its yours.

Karan:No its yours......thum mujhse ladna shuru karthe ho.

Preetha: No its yours......thum mujhse ladoge har baar. dekho abhi bhi thum hi jagda shuru karliya.

Karan: meine nai kiya thum kiya.

She is very angry,

Preetha: meine kya kiya? thumne mujhe chudail bola....!

Karan: haa galath kya bola?sach hi bola tha meine.....iss red dress mein,khula hua baal ke saath Scarlett witch jaise lag rahi ho.

Preetha: She is a powerful sorceress you know.....

Karan: Yes she is a dangerous witch just like you........

Preetha: sach mein witch hothi tho mein thumhe machar mein badal dethi.You Irritating mosquito!

Karan: Don't wish because you are already a witch!

She gets very angry and is about to hold her neck when Priya and Rohan runs to them,

Priya: kya kar rahe ho thum log?

They both glare each other but doesnt speak,

Preetha:di....yeh start kiya hein first?

Karan: What? jab bhi muh kholthe ho na jhut hi bolthe ho kuch tho sach bolo.....

Preetha: mein jhut nai bolthi hu thumhari tarah......

Karan: hahaha aagayi Satya Harishchandra ki behen jisko jhut ki spelling bhi nai pata.Right?

Preetha: aur thum Yama dharama raj ka bhai hona......Shani.ek baar pakda tho zindagi bhar nai chodega sar pe betega!

Rohan laughs,Priya glares while Karan is about to retort,

Rohan; band karo yaar.....subah subah thum logon ka suprabharat sunne ka mood mein nahi hu mein!

Karan: Bhai yeh....

Priya(yelling): Shut up.

they both get silent standing beside each other,

Priya: Preetha its an important day for you.bhul gayi ho kya?thum aise yaha khade hoke jhagde karthe rahoge tho flight miss ho jaogi.......stop your silly fights now and move.You are getting late.

Preetha nods and Karan too,

Preetha: Ok ......but isse kaho ki mujhse baath math karo.mera mood kharab hojayega.

Karan: jaise mera mood tho bahot acha rehtha heina.........mera mood bhi kharab hojayega so you dont talk with me.

Priya: Ok fine.......interview hone tak thum dono ek dusre se baath math kiya karo theekey.

They glare each other and her and nod for this too,

Rohan(giggles): Arey bade nod kar rahe hein dono....just like toys.fir ek baar karlo?

The three look at him weirdly,

Priya: ab thum shuru math ho jao rohan.......karan preetha forget about your fights for this day and take care of yourselves ok.(they both nod) good.......chal preetha idar aa (she hugs preetha) all the best hmm.Dont be nervous.i know you will do well. 

 Preetha smiles,

Preetha: Thanks di.

Rohan too hugs Karan,

Rohan: chal....all the best to you too bhai.

karan hugs back,

Karan: thanks bhai.....i really need it.iske saath jo jaa raha hu pata nai kya hoga.

Karan and Rohan chuckles while the sisters sees them annoyed,

Rohan: ok.......no jokes now.Karan preetha I want to say mein apna wedding postpone nai karna chahtha hu kisi bhi tarah se.

Karan: So?

Rohan:So aap log mujhe ek wada karo.......

Karan looks at preetha asking whether she knows about the promise,preetha too does the same,they both realize that noone knows about it so they look at Rohan who is looking at them, 

Priya: kya hein Rohan?

Rohan: Wada Karo ki.........aap log ek dusre ko murder nai karega.I want you both alive in my marriage ok.

The three rolls their eyes,

Preetha: it's too much jiju

Karan: Exactly.......

Priya: iske baath math suno.......preetha,karan you have to start now.

Rohan: ha ha bas mera wada math bhulo yaar.thum dono ek dusre ko kuch kiya tho mera wedding ruk jayega so please understand your brothers concern ok?

The three shakes their heads at him nd hugs their siblings and get into the car,he moves to the driver seat with her occupying the passenger one.

Priya and Rohan: Happy Journey!

They drive out of mansion,

Priya: I hope they have a good journey.

Rohan: mujhe sirf yeh bata hein ki mera marriage date change nai hoga.

Rohan leaves inside while priya looks at him shaking her head.

Karan and Preetha board the flight and reach Mumbai in 2 hours.Karan takes the car which has been waiting for them and drives into the city.He is silent in his own thoughts during the whole journey.They had breakfast in the airport itself so they went to hostel directly so that she can change her clothes to college dress code.He told her he would wait in the car itself.

Karan: kya hua mujhe? Mein itna silent kyun hu? Mein usse baar baar kyun dekh raha hu? (He then remembers her running to him) ahhh mein kyun bhul nai pa raha hu.Come on karan it's nothing like that.Yeah she is not that beautiful.ha right. ......wait did I just said beautiful? When did she became beautiful for me? She is not at all beautiful......yeah she is not at all beautiful.hmm.......

While he is talking with himself,he sees the rear view mirror which is showing her walking towards the car.She is wearing a lavender shirt tucked in black pant with her hair tied up in a ponytail.Karan was not blown like morning,he didn't went to his world,he is just seeing her.

Karan: ab tho kuch nai hua naa mujhe kuch feel nai ho rai.Ab mujhe pata hein subah mein aise kyun react karliya ........the dress is beautiful and I got impressed by the dress.Right that's what happened.....thank god I figured it out warna......warna kya? Warna kuch nai? Waise yeh kuch bol nai rahi........kyun?kuch tho bakwas bolthi rehthi hein ab tho bahot silent se beth rahu thi....is she avoiding me?(seriously) No she can't avoid me anything like that I should avoid her but she can't ignore me.Haaa......

By that time she sits inside and starts checking her documents,

Karan: Itna late kyun aayi thum haa......?

She doesn't speak,

Karan: Hello mein thumhe puch raha hu......itna late kyun aayi thum?

Again she ignores,karan gets angry so he holds her hand and she sees him,

Karan: mein thumse baath kar raha hu.......itna late kyun kiya thum aur mujhse jawab kyun nai de rahe ho?

Preetha(sharply): Not now yaad hein di ne kya kaha ham dono baath nai karna hein till I am done.........I don't wanna disturb myself so don't speak with me and start the car I will tell you the directions.

Huffing,he starts the car and drives to the place.

They are at placement zone inside the college.All the students were busy discussing themselves.Karan looks around........Some are confident,some are unsure but everyone are nervous for sure.He looks at preetha who is sitting beside him flipping pages nervously.He remembers how she was few minutes ago and how she is now.Seeing her he laughs suddenly,preetha sees him frowning but he continues laughing.

Preetha: Why are you laughing?

Karan still laughs,

Preetha: Karan!

Seeing him laughing she gets angry and pinches him on his arm,he hisses and sees her rubbing his arm.

Karan: kyun pinch kiya?

Preetha: thum mujhe reply nai de rahe ho?

Karan: kyun du mein?bhul gayi kya wo babhi ne kya kaha ham dono baath nai karna hein.

Preetha: ahaha jaise mein mari jaa rahi hu thumse baath karne keliye heina?

Karan(shrugging): shayad

Pretha: thumse meine isiliye baath kiya kyunki thum kisi pagal ki tarah has rahe the aur sab log hame dekh rahe hein.........dekho.(he looks around and she is right)ab thum sach tho pagal tho nai hogaya na?

Karan(pointing his finger,angrily): thum kuch zyada bol rahe ho......mein thumhe chodunga nai.

Preetha(pointing her finger and locking them): Same to you.pehle yeh bathao thumhe itna has kyun aa rahe the?

Karan the removes his finger,she too,

Karan: Wo........ actually thum hamesha pura confidence se,pure immath ke saath mujhse ladthe rehthe ho na ab thumhe aise nervous dekhkar mujhe hasi aa rahi thi.

He chuckles while she narrows her eyes,

Preetha: Thumhare saath ladne keliye na mujhe kuch knowledge nai chahiye par yeh interview crack karnekeliye bahot knowledge chahiye isiliye mein nervous hu.aur yeh baath thumhe nai samjoge because thum kuch interview hi nai diya hoga na as you got your father's company like a piece of cake.

His giggling stops but he smiles,

Karan: You are right..........I never got interviewed.I don't know how it feels to be in waiting period.I never wanted those as I had my father's company.But it was not a cake walk for me.Sure I got the director position easily but being the director was not at all easy for me especially when you are the founder's son, M.D's brother.You will be carrying great expectations from everybody.One mistake....... it leads to many comments.Some you don't even want to hear.But I wanna prove myself,my worth and started working hard, fought with every obstacle and finally established the New york branch with me being the head.

He smiles to himself remembering his achievements,

Karan: I am what I am because of my father preetha but I am where I am because of myself.If you don't believe in yourself nobody believes you.(he holds her hand) see you don't have to think about business strategies or rival companies or upcoming projects or bear comments from unknown people you just have to impress few members.That's it and I am sure you would definitely do it as you impressed me with your fighting skills.

He finishes off with a smile.Preetha is dumb struck listening from him about himself.Its the first time he shared his experiences or to say it's the first time he spoke with her without any sarcasm.Though she was confused but she felt good and confident.Within few minutes,she was called inside,he squeezes her hand assuringly before she leaves.

AFTER 1 HOUR,

Karan is waiting outside slightly annoyed,

Karan: yaar aur kitna wakth lagega?pura din waiting mein chal raha hein....

he is scrolling in his phone when he hears a girl voice,

Girl: Excuse me

he lifts to see a girl slightly smiling at him, probably from states as her green eyes,blond hair says it.She is in college dress code,

Karan(surprised): Yeah?How can i help you?

Girl:I wanted to ask that......shall i help you in anyway? 

Karan is confused totally as who is she and why is she talking to him so he frowns not understanding,that girl smiles seeing it,

Girl: Let me make myself clear.........i am Amelia Greene studying business here.I was seeing you from the last 30 mins you were standing here and looking around.i thought you were lost and need help.

Karan is really surprised and a smile steals his lips,

Karan: First thank you for asking Ms Greene.........Actually I was here for someone,she is being interviewed inside so i was waiting here for her.By the way this is karan.

He gives her hand to shake,she smilingly takes it,

Amelia: Hello karan.........call me Amelia.By the way are you from the States?I mean you addressed me with my last name which is unusual here.

Karan; I know that. For your question...... no i am not from States but i live there.

Amelia: Wow ......where do you live there?

Karan: New York......you?

Amelia: I am from California.........i came here to study because i like india and i want to experience the culture here.

Karan: Thats so good to know that a western girl chose India to pursue her career..........and i wont ask hows india because i know my country,we welcome everyone with love and treat them with respect no matter what they does to us.

Amelia liked him in the first sight and now listening his talks she liked him more,

Amelia: I agree with it completely.....your country is one of the best countries in the world.

Karan gives his full smile totally proud of what she said,

Amelia: mmmm....if you dont mind shall we go for coffee? I mean it takes another hour for interviews to get finished.so we can catch up who knows we might become good friends! (mind) or more than that.

She gives a little smile hoping he would say yes while karan thinks about what she said,his mood is really not good and this girl seemed to be nice to him so he agrees making her smile fully.She takes him to the cafe conversing and in that short time they became comfortable with eachother.

COLLEGE CAFE

Amelia: Karan what would you take? I would suggest Coffee ......its really good here.

Karan listens her and he suddenly remembers Preethas words ' my college is famous for many things and coffee is first in it'

Karan(mind):jab dekho yahi bolthi rehthi hein wo bandar.....chalo aaj mein bhi dekhlunga ki aise kya hein iss coffee mein ki madam bhul nai pa rahi?

They both order coffee and leave to a table taking their cups.Karan looks around the cafe he liked the place instantly as it is cosy,light and refreshing and the aroma of coffee is too inviting.Unable to wait,he sips it and closes his for a second drowning in its taste.

Karan(mind): Ummmm........this is superb.

He smiles a little and enjoys his coffee taking sip by sip forgetting he has a company,

Amelia: I guess you liked it.

Karan: As much as i became a fan of it.

Amelia(smiling):I told you know coffee here is the best.

Karan: Actually i knew that before.

Amelia(surprisedsed): How?

Karan: Whenever my mom offers coffee to her she literally sings that my college is famous for many things and coffee is first in it.sunke sunke mere kaan kharab hogayi but now i have no choice but agree with her.

Amelia's smile slowly lessens,

Amelia:the one who for whom you are here,?

Karan: Yeah.......the only one.(mind) Only if she didn't come up with this i would have been teaching dance steps to the girls now.Haww.....How much I miss it? All because of her!

He gets angry and sips while she lightly smile stirring her coffee,

Amelia: You seem very protective of your........sister.

Karan chokes listening it,

Karan(shocked): Sister? Who?

Amelia; tha...that girl 

Karan(loudly): No.She is not my sister..........(mind)preetha meri beh......eww mein shabd pura bhi nai kar saktha.how can she think like that? chiii!

Amelia is sad because of his reaction,

Amelia: I am sorry i just thought like that...... I dont know she is your girl friend!

He again chokes,

Karan: Girl friend?yeh thum kya bol rahi ho?

He looks at her surprised with a slight smile while she looks back,

Karan: I mean what are you saying?she is not my girl friend.She is my sister in law's sister.I came here because my babhi asked me. And also I have some nice choice.

Shrugging he continues,

Amelia smiles happily listening it,

Amelia(mind): Thank God!

Amelia: I am again sorry.....i ju...just thought....mmm...just leave it.I heard Indians value and respect their families a lot i mean we follow too but hardly anything and listening you feels great.I am starting to like indian boys.

Karan: Thats true but what's that with me?

Amelia: You are accompanying and waiting for the girl who you barely knew..... practically a stranger to you just because your sister in law asked you.That is great. 

 Karan chuckles at that,

Karan: Oh god you are seriously connecting things very wierdly (she frowns) she is not a barely known person and not at all a stranger......i knew her more than myself.

Amelia(lowly): Ohh...... she is your bestie?

Karan: No yaar she is not my bestie we always fight with each other.

Amelia: then she is your enemy?

Karan: Really? Do you think we are India and Pakisthan.......if so then we are not.We dont fight that much we just tease each other.

Frustrated she asks the question directly,

Amelia: Then whats your relation with her?

Karan(slightly annoyed): She is my babhis sister.

Amelia: You are not getting it Karan......i am asking what relation you both have? See......you said she is not a stranger as you knew everything about her,not a friend as you both fight with each other,not a enemy as you just tease,not a girl friend and not a sister.Then what is she to you?

Karan at once gets blank,he is thinking about her questions and his answers,he never thought about what he said he just answered involuntarily now when she is saying he is thinking about that,

Karan(mind): What is she to me?

Right then he gets a message,he opens to find it from Preetha,

Pagal insaan kaha ho thum? asylum wale tho leke nai gayi thumhe!

He is back to his mood,

thumhe zoo mein saump dene se pehle mein kaha jaaunga bandar.waise itna der kyun liya wo log thumhe bahar dhakka dene mein haa?Mujhe laga thumhe dekhthe hi bahar fek dega.......

He is smirking widely typing the message when he again forgot about Amelia,though he is smirking she saw the excitement in him,

Amelia: You are texting her?

He nods without looking at her awaiting for her reply, 

Karan: haa I think she is out.....aur aathe hi mujhe dundh rahi hogi aur mein nahi tha na waha isiliye mujhe msg kiya!

When he gets another reply,

Preetha: wo log thumhari tarah pagal tho nai heina so aise kuch bhi nai kiya........stop your stupid messages and tell me where are you? I am hungry.

Karan: Ofcourse thum karthe kya ho......khaana,peena sona.fir repeat.mein hi aa raha hu wait......tabtakeliye dusron ki dimaag math khana.baksh do bechare logonko.

Preetha: Thumhari stupid messages ko reply dene keliye mere pass energy nai hein.ek kaam karo mein hostel jaake fresh ho jaungi thum wahi aajana directly.........route tho batha heina? or location send karu mei?

He frowns reading it,

Karan: Hostel? mujhe tho yaad hi nai hein? she made me take many turns that i dont remember one.agar yeh baath bathayi tho mujhe chedayegi.No way......what should i do now?(he sees amelia then and smirks) Thank you God. 

He again types,

mein thumhari tarah nai hu.....ek baar dekhunga tho zindagi bhar yaad rahega.I am on my way you better make it fast.

Seeing his excitement in his eyes,the long fingers which are not taking a minute to text her and him who forgot that he actually has a company made her analyze the total situation,she realized something which made her disappointed.She didnt like it but she cant do anything,

Karan looks at her who is looking at him sadly,he frowns and puts his hand on her just touching her,

Karan: Amelia?(she comes out of her thoughs) you ok?

Gulping the sadness she forces a smile,

Amelia: Yes ......(he slightly smile) so what is she saying?

Karan: Ahhh.....ntg asking me to pick her at the hostel.

Amelia: ohh.....s..so you sh..should leave?

Karan: Yeah......... she is like a hungry lioness already if i go late she will make me her lunch.I don't wanna be her lunch she will kill me cruelly and if something happens to me what will happen to the beautiful girls like you? I dont wanna make them cry.......

Amelia laughs forgetting everything for a moment,

Amelia: You know.....you are so cute.

Karan(smiling): I know that right.Every one says that .......except one.You know that  bandar didn't compliment me once till today........does her kind of girls exist? I mean who will not compliment the dashing guy who literally be with her all the day?huh....khadoos bandar. 

Amelia didnt like him remembering her for everything,

Amelia: i think you should go!

He then remembers,

Karan: haa yeah actually i wanted to ask you a favor in return to my wonderful company?

Amelia: What?

Karan: As i said she is waiting near the hostel and i forgot the route.She made me take many turns that i dont remember anything.Can you please help me?

She smiles,

Amelia: (mind) I can get some more time with you.(to him) Yeah sure......come.

Karan: Thank you.....come lets go.

They are passing the order counter when Karan suddenly stops and orders a large coffee for take away,

Amelia(smiles): You just drank one.......dont you think its too fast to take another.

Karan(smiles): This is not for me.....its for
her.

Amelia is so surprised about him and his behaviour towards her,she even don't know her but she really didn't like her and she blurted out something,

Amelia: You like her a lot?Don't you?

Karan: Yup i like fighting with her.You know i didnt fight with her since the last 6 hours its the first ever time we didnt fight being with each other that too for a long time.And now she might be tired because of all this and i clearly dont want her weak because i want to fight with her a lot.I am waiting for it.

Just then orders arrives,he takes it and they walk to the car.He drives according to her directions and when he sees that they are nearby he stops the car,

Karan: Haaa.....atlast i am here.Good memory karan!

He taps his back while Amelia narrows her eyes, 

Karan: Ok ok........Thank you Amelia Greene for a nice coffee,for listening my story for making my mood better,for the directions totally for being a nice friend.

 He takes her hand and shakes it a lot saying those while she just sees her with a smile, 

Amelia: Thank you too for a wonderful company.I will go now.....

She is about to go when karan stops her holding her hand,

Karan: Hey wait.....don't you wanna meet her? Afterall you asked many questions about her hmm?

Amelia: No.....if I meet her I don't know what will I do.So I will go before she comes.

Karan: What?

He slowly removes her hand frowning,Amelia knew she have to explain and also she wanted to say her feelings,

Amelia: Honestly I got attracted to you at the first sight karan.I wanted to talk with you and know about you that's the reason I came to you.You have been very nice to me that I wanted to become your friend.I don't know about love but after seeing you and talking with you I want you to be someone special in my life but I gotta know you already have someone who is special in everything for you.I was so disappointed and angry listening your every line which either starts with her or ends with her and if nothing like that you will fit her in the middle or somewhere but she has to be there otherwise your conversation would be incomplete.(she chuckles) And gradually I realised that I am just a passing cloud in your life Karan she is your sky without which you are nothing!

Karan who is shocked by her words reacts quickly,

Karan: See you got it all wrong I don't know what are you saying but there's really nothing.....

Interrupting him,

Amelia: There's everything between you both.........that's why you are not able to name your relation.(he is about to say something) No karan I am just saying what I observed and that's the truth.(he is irritated) I know all this is irritating and shocking to you but just store this in back of your head and just enjoy the time with her,fight with her,tease her and what not and one day even without your knowledge you will eventually understand.You have the time of the world boy.......enjoy every bit of it and thanks for making me realize all this.Its one of my best memories.Bye!

Karan is confused, irritated and annoyed she smiles and get down the car,he also does the same.Amelia waves bye with a wide smile.She starts walking,

Karan: yeh kya bol ke chali gayi?

He is thinking when he sees her coming back to him and she hugs him surprising him,he couldnt move for a second and awkwardly he partially hugs her tapping her back,she understands his hesitation and leaves him.He confusedly looks at her while she smiles and goes near him whispering in his ear,

Amelia: When we meet again make sure you have the answer to my question (he frowns) What is she to you?

She kisses his cheek and slowly backs away,she cups his cheek whispering,

Amelia: Turn around someone is waiting!

Winking she walks away in the opposite direction shocking him with her whole act.

He blankly turns to see Preetha from a distance seeing him maybe glaring or staring or....he doesn't know but she is not moving.

Karan(mind): What just happened and what's going to happen?
