It was now morning, and the laughter and happiness from the night before was gone. We all stood in the snow, just waiting for the Volturi to come.

walked up to Nik and his family, as all the covens decided to stand separately. Nik and his family stood just next to Bella and Edward right at the front.

I looked into the ocean eyes that I loved so much, the ocean eyes that I didn't know if I could lose.

"Nik, when all of this is over, I want to be included in your Always and Forever."

Nik looked down at me with an amused look. "Now you tell me love?"

I sent him a toothy grin, wrapped my hands around his neck, and brought his face down towards mine so our lips met.

I could feel shocked eyes on Nik and I. I smiled into the kiss, but pulled away as soon as I heard the footsteps.

The Volturi and their army was getting closer.

"The Redcoats are coming! The Redcoats are coming!" Garrett chanted from his spot beside Kate and the Denali's.

Suddenly Aro, Marcus, Caius and their army were visible, and it was clear that we were outnumbered.

"Aro's looking for Alice." Edward informed my sister and I.

I turned my head to see the wolf pack coming out of the forest, Jake coming to stand next to Bella and Ness.

The army finally stood in a line, and Carlisle stepped forward.

I looked at the doctor with concerned eyes. No matter how much I didn't want to admit it, I did care for Carlisle Cullen.

"Aro, let us discuss things as we used to. In a civilized manner." The vampire started off.

The Cold One with the long dark hair, looked at Carlisle with a challenging look. "Fair words, Carlisle. But a little out of place, given the battalion you've assembled against us."

I wanted to roll my eyes, say something snarky, but Edwards warning look prevented me from doing so.

"I can promise you, that was never my intent. No laws have been broken." The Doctor tried to reason.

The shortest of the three leaders glared at Carlisle. "We see the child. Do not treat us as fools." Caius sneered.

I looked over at the Traditionals who had all formed a group. Katherine was staring at someone on the other side of the field, and I narrowed my eyes in confusion. A yearning look was on her face, but then my attention went back to the conversation that was taking place.

"She is not an Immortal! These witnesses can attest to that. Or you can look. See the flush of human blood in her cheeks."

Carlisle was getting impatient. The Volturi was refusing to listen.

"Artifice!" Caius bellowed.

I glared at the blonde man.

Aro held out a hand to his "brother", signalling him to shut up. "I will collect every facet of the truth. But from someone more central to the story. Edward, as the child clings to your newborn mate, I assume you are involved."

Edward looked at my sister, and then made his way towards Aro. I could feel Bella's shield as she tried to extend it to Edward. I grabbed her hand, a subtle hint that she should stop.

Edward had reached Aro, and gave him his hand. Something flashed through Aro's eyes, but it was gone before I could identify it.

"I'd like to meet her." He spoke as Edward dropped his hand.

My brother in law turned to look at his family. It was time. Bella, Ness and I, walked up to Aro with Emmett, Jake and Kol followed us for protection.

The youngest Mikaelson boy had grown quite attached to my niece, and he would die before he let anything happen to her.

"Ah. Young Bella. Immortality becomes you."

Aro smiled at my sister, but then shrieked with laughter. "I hear her strange heart."

I immediately glared at the man. There were so many things I wanted to yell at him for.

Aro held out his hand and Ness walked closer to the man. She placed her hand on his cheek, and I just hoped and prayed that they would leave.

"Magnifico! Half mortal, half immortal. Conceived and carried by this newborn while she was still human. All while her Aunt was transforming into a Traditional vampire."

My eyes widened. I looked at Ness who looked up at me with guilty eyes. I smiled softly at her.

"Piper Amelia Swan. You are in so many memories of young Renesmee." Aro said.

I looked him up and down, not enjoying what I was seeing.

"May I dear?" Aro asked, his hand outstretched.

Before I could even move, two figures guarded me heavily.

"I don't think so Aro." Nik said. I could hear the venom in his voice as he addressed the Volturi's main leader.

Aro chuckled. "Hello Niklaus, Katerina."

My snarky brunette best friend sent a sickly sweet smile at the leader.

"It is impossible for this thing to be half vampire!" Caius seethed.

Aro turned to look at his brother. "Do you think they fooled me, brother?"

I grabbed Nik's hand and pulled him away from the Volturi and back to our side of the battlefield.

I took my place next to my sister, but Nik refused to let me go.

"Bring the informer forward." The young king demanded.

Irina was brought forward, a look of guilt on regret on her face.

"Is that the child you saw?" She was asked.

Irina gulped and looked at the blonde leader with fear in her eyes. "I'm not sure."

Caius smirked. "Jane."

Irina rushed words out of her mouth, to save herself from the wicked gift of Jane.

"She's changed. This child is bigger."

I could feel the tension in the air growing thicker.

"Then your allegations were false." The male said.

Irina took a deep breath and looked away from the Volturi leader to her sisters. "The Cullens are innocent. I take full responsibility for my mistake. I'm sorry."

Everything seemed to move in slow motion. Irina's arms were torn off, her sister going crazy trying to get to her, but they were stopped and Irina was executed.

Edward stepped away from the Denali's and looked back at the Volturi.

"Pain." A small and soft voice spoke. Blonde hair and red eyes watched with amusement as Edward dropped to the ground in pain. That must be Jane.

Edward fell upon his knees for a moment or two, before Bella extended her power around our group of witnesses.

"It's working." Edward told his wife.

Jane looked at others surrounded by Bella's shield, before her eyes landed on Bella who smirked.

Alec stepped forward and a black mist started to come out of his hands before Aro stopped him.

Carlisle took center field and began to speak.

"Aro, you see there's no law broken here."

Aro narrowed his eyes before he began to speak, directing most of his speech towards his Guard.

"Agreed But does it then follow that there is no danger? For the first time in our history humans pose a threat to our kind. Their modern technology has given birth to weapons that could destroy us. Maintaining our secret has never been more imperative. In such perilous times, only the known is safe. Only the known is tolerable. And we know nothing of what this child will become. Can we live with such uncertainty? Spare ourselves a fight today, only to die tomorrow."

I didn't believe what I was hearing. Aro was using our evidence against us.

A gasp was heard, and I turned my attention towards the set of footsteps.

"Jasper." "Alice." "Alice!" I, Edward and Aro said at the same time.

My southern major best friend was back.

"My dear, dear Alice, we're so glad to see you here, after all." Aro clapped.

Alice's face was blank of emotion. "I have evidence the child won't be a risk to our kind."

I narrowed my eyes in confusion at the vampire.

"Let me show you."

Alice extended her hand towards Aro and the two stood for a moment or two before my life would change forever.
