A lot has changed

"Why is he coming with us?" Hikari asked Nanami looking over her shoulder at Tomoe who looked grumpy but very attractive in the boys school uniform.

"We comes to school with me to protect me while Mizuki stays at home to look after the shrine."

"Where are the ears and tail gone?"

"Tomoe uses transformation magic he uses it to hide them so he looks human." Hikari's eyes seemed to light up at this. If she learnt to use that kind of magic she could still look human at least, but she knew that just looking human wasn't enough to conceal her monstrous self. It would never be enough to keep the instincts that she felt at bay.

"So what exactly is he?"

"He is a fox, he uses fox fire and Mizuki is a white snake. Tomoe was Mikage's familiar but Mikage left for 20 years until a few weeks ago when he passed the duty of land God onto me. I made Tomoe my familiar but Mizuki became my familiar a little later after Tomoe."

"They don't get along all that well do they?"

"No they don't. They are very different after all. Tomoe used to be a wild fox, he is a yokai but he apparently changed since becoming a familiar. Mizuki said he used to be really evil."

"Do you believe him?"

"No I don't. Tomoe can be strict but he is kind and gently too." They was a smile on her face as she said this. Hikari came to a very sudden conclusion.

"You like him don't you?" Nanami's face became bright red. "I'll take that as a yes then."

"It doesn't matter though. I have already had my feeling rejected by him." Her face looked hurt as she thought back to the time she and he spent on the roof top that day. Hikari's blood began to boil as she saw her friends heart broken face.

"Would you like me to deal with him?"

"What? No, don't do that. It's find honestly Hikari you are way too protective over me."

"Any idea where you Father might be?" She asked changing the subject because she knew that if she didn't she would have to really hurt the fox familiar that hurt her best friend.

"I haven't even been looking for him. He could be anywhere and honestly I guess you can say that I'm a little relieved that he is gone. I don't have to worry about not having enough money to eat any more plus Tomoe is a really good cook."

"I get the feeling that he does everything for you."

"He does but that is the job of a familiar to look after the God they serve. Even so I still am grateful for everything he does even though he can be a big jerk sometimes." Nanami stopped talking as they reached the school. Hikari smiled at her and the two walked into the school followed by a Tomoe that was watching the new girl very carefully...

Hikari and Nanami went into the classroom just in front of Tomoe. Like usual there were girls chatting excitedly to their friends and a few boys in the corner playing video games. Isobe immediately came up to Nanami.

"Morning poverty..." He began but stopped suddenly when he saw Hikari's scowling face. "Oh Hikari your back." He said sounding a little nervous. "Well I got to go." He said turning and leaving quickly.

"He still picking on you then." Said Hikari. Nanami smiled warmly at her.

"Don't worry about it." She said sitting down at her desk. Tomoe sat next to her and Hikari took her seat behind her where she sat before she left. Hikari's eyes travelled out the window and she sighed heavily. So much had changed while she had been gone. After she visited the peach God she went on a little adventure, just to see if she could find the God that gave her the human form she wished to keep. She could feel eyes on her and when she turned she found herself under the cold gaze of Tomoe. She looked at him for a few seconds then broke eyes contact. She knew that he knew something was up. After all her was the famous wild fox. Her conversation with Nanami that morning had confirmed that. He was the same fox that destroyed towns along with another demon. He was terrifying back in the day. He was very much like her. They both had pasts that they were perhaps not proud of, they were both evil and merciless but now they were different, but she had to keep her distance from him for more than one reason. The door to the classroom burst open and a few black feather flew into the room.

"Your famous pop star has come to school today." Said a male voice and the girls went wild. They screamed like little girls. Hikari sighed and leant on her hand, looking at the door to see who was to come through the door. A man she recognised stepped through the door. His deep purple hair and purple eyes it was clearly Kurama, the famous pop star. The heart throb for all teenage girls. Hikari knew that Nanami was a fan of his but she did not seem too excited to see him. Kurama came straight up to Nanami and leant on her desk.

"Good morning Nanami." He greeted with a seductive smile on his face. Hikari glared at him but Nanami didn't look the least bit interested in him and looked out of the window instead if looking at him. Kurama noticed Hikari behind her. His eyes travelled up and down her. Looking at her full breast, curvy body, beautiful blue eyes, long white hair, pale face and smooth skin. He blushed at the sight of her but he soon composed himself again. He walked up to the side of her desk bit as soon as he left Nanami side she seemed to lose interest in him. "And who might you be?"

"Hikari." She answered simply.

"A friend of Nanami's?"

"I am." Hikari knew that he was not human, he was clearly a Tengu but that made no sense. Tengu's were not supposed to leaver their mountain and they weren't even allowed to look at women. Now she thought about it it has always been so clear that he was a Tengu, not the fallen angel he was said to be. Only now, having him so close did she finally realise him for what he was.

"You seem so cold towards me, do you know who I am?"

"I don't think there is a girl alive today that doesn't." Kurama smiled and reached his hand out towards her.

"Then how about a little hello kiss?" He said. As he was just about to touch her face she grabbed his hand in a flash. She squeezed it until it hurt but she was careful not to break it. Kurama winced slightly and she glared at him.

"Don't flatter yourself. Just because I know of you does not mean I have any idea to do such a gross thing." She left him go and he stepped backwards. "Leave me alone." She said turning to look out the window.

"I can't believe she just hurt Kurama's hand." Said a girl that had seen the commotion.

"I know but thats Hikari Yukimura. I wouldn't want to go against her." Said her friend.

"Yeah she can get really scary when she's angry." Said another. Kurama brushed his hair back as if it was nothing.

"It takes more than that to brake my hand. Perhaps you are not a fan yet my love but you will be soon. No one can resist me for long." He said walking off.

"We'll see about that." Said Hikari to herself but Tomoe heard. He smiled slightly to himself. This girl was getting more and more interesting, he had to know more...
