when you looked down to see chara, tears made their way to your eyes, purely out of relief. relief of her not being stuck in an endless void. chara looked up at you and more tears filled her milk chocolate eyes, you smiled past your welled up tears. the act making some of them spill, chara hugged you again and you bent over her, still sitting. f/c magick was still swirling faintly around the both of you and finally settled to a faint glow around your crystal that hung from your neck

after you pulled back from the hug chara looked into your f/c eyes and smiled, "you ready to go home chara?" she nodded excitedly and stood up, you chuckled at her enthusiasm and stood up swiftly, walking over to the two buttons you found that both of them were glowing so bright it almost hurt your eyes to look at them though you could still clearly see the button names

before you could press the Life button, chara grabbed your hand and when you looked at her you were surprised to find her having a slightly frightened expression. drawing your hand to her cheek you wiped away some excess tears "chara, is something wrong?" chara took a shaky breath and looked up at you with watery eyes

"it's just.....sans would remember the genocide runs, and i don't know if-" you put your fingers on chara's mouth to silence her "chara, i talked to sans yesterday and told him that it wasn't you that did all that stuff, don't beat yourself up about it, k?" chara slowly nodded but said "could we get dr. gaster too?" you smiled

"of course chara, let's hurry though" chara nodded and touched the Dreamland button but nothing happened you touched it as well and a bright trail of f/c shot out of your crystal and wound around chara and you both disappeared into gaster's part of Dreamland

you blinked as the trail of bright f/c released it's grasp from chara and re-entered your crystal, you turned and found gaster already shifting into existence near you "y/n, i didn't realize you would be back so soon, who is with you?" you smiled and side-stepped to reveal chara, who you were some-what blocking. chara smiled sheepishly up at gaster and said "i-it's been a while, Dr. Gaster" gaster chuckled and walked up to chara, kneeling on one patella to her level he smiled crookedly

"indeed it has been a very long time, and i'm afraid that i am no longer a 'Dr.' chara, please just call me gaster" chara seemed taken aback but nodded, suddenly the bright f/c trail shot out again from your crystal, this time split into two and wound around both gaster and chara then turned indigo, gaster and chara seemed shocked but when you felt the tug stronger than ever you grasped both of their arms you were teleported to the button room

the gray room was a certain change for gaster, who was used to the never-ending black and bleakness, though this was most likely a pleasant change, you pressed the Life button and when nothing happened the two indigo trails unwound from chara and gaster and snaked into your crystal, which turned indigo and you felt your eyes glow from the sudden surge of magick energy

the Dreamland creaked and split slightly from the overflow of magick you were thrusting onto it the trails exited your crystal and wound again around gaster and chara, who were right beside you "sis? you ok?" chara touched your arm but you refused to break your gaze on the button, both of your hands pressing firmly the fingers spread out. you were Determined to make this the last time you exited Dreamland alone, out of the corner of your eyes you saw fragments covered in indigo trails collide with gaster. surprised, gaster touched your other arm and you felt your magick grow ten-fold

you wanted to close your eyes but couldn't, more indigo trails emitted from your crystal and wound around your own being letting out a grunt of exertion you pushed down even more until your heard a loud

*clunk*

your vision went completely white and the last thing you heard was

"you did excellent y/n, thank you"

~<~<~<~Toriel's POV~>~>~>~

as i stirred the pancake mix in a plastic bowl i could hear frisk's sleepy steps come down the hall, when sleepy child came into the kitchen i smiled kindly at them "good morning my child, how did you sleep?" frisk smiled sleepily back at me and signed 'it was ok, like always, could i go to the skele-bros after breakfast?'

i chuckled pouring the contents of the mixing bowl onto a sizzling pan "we will see my child, y/n or either of the skeleton brothers must invite us first, we cannot go barging in" frisk's face fell slightly, i heard my phone ring the tone whenever i got a text message

frisk's face lit up 'maybe it's y/n!!' before i had a chance to clean my paws of batter frisk was already holding my smartphone to me, i chuckled once again and tapped at the screen until i got to the messaging app, seeing it was actually y/n that texted i suppressed another chuckle

Y/n- Hey toriel, do you mind coming over after breakfast? i have a couple of surprises for you, and asgore

Myself- I do not mind at all y/n, may i ask that you share what you have planned?

Y/n- Sorry tori, no can do ;)

Myself- Well, i guess then i'll just have to see for myself, we will come after breakfast

Y/n- Great! see ya then!

i chuckled once again unable to hold it as i flipped the pancakes, frisk looks up curiously and she signs 'mom, what are you chuckling about? was it y/n?!' she signed the last part rather enthusiastically and i smiled then nodded "yes my child, apparently, y/n want's you, me and asgore to come over for a surprise, though i have no idea what it could be"

frisk bounced up and down excitedly squealing airily 'can we go now!?' i laughed at frisk's excited demeanor "we will have to wait until after breakfast frisk alright?" frisk nodded her head vigorously, so much so that i was beginning to wonder if her head would stay where it is meant to be...

~<~<~<~Your POV~>~>~>~

after ending the text with toriel you guided gaster and chara out of your room as you remembered what happened after your vision went white

you had woken up on your bed, indigo caressing your crystal, then entering it after you took a glance at your add-ons, which were not there, you found chara and gaster on the floor beside your bed and woke them up saying they made it

after you stepped down the last of the stairs you headed to the kitchen to start breakfast, soon after you heard a loud gasp and a cry rang out "FATHER!!"

a dull thump was audible from the living room and you found yourself smiling, as you climbed the cabinets to reach the plates you felt a familiar blue aura lift you the rest of the way, a skeleton waiting for you when you got to the top, you smiled at sans and gasped a bit when he suddenly gripped you into a hug, soon you returned it and stuffed your face into his blue hoodie fluff that smelled faintly of ketchup

when you released from the hug you found sans smiling bigger than ever before. smiling yourself you said "i told you i would get him back"

after breakfast was done (with some help from sans) you ate and talked, gaster and chara revealing their story, not spilling anything about your magick in which you were grateful, even though your siblings knew about it, your other friends did not and you wanted to keep it that way, not wanting to have them see you in a different light and think of you as a true monstrosity

when you heard a knock on the front door you grinned and went to open it, ushering chara out of sight. when you did open the door you were met with the three people you had invited, "hi guys! you came just in time come on in" you stood away from the door and let in the three, asgore waiting for you as you closed the front door,

when you turned to face asgore he said in a deep, and soothing, yet it was also a voice that demanded respect "hello y/n, i believe that we haven't met properly, my name is asgore" you smiled up at the very tall monster king

offering a hand you said "y/n. it is nice to finally see a name to a face" asgore chuckled deeply and took your hand encasing it effortlessly "that goes the same to me, frisk and tori have spoken a lot about you these past weeks"

when you, or rather asgore, released your hand, toriel gasped, making asgore turn to see gaster having just entered from the kitchen, asgore laughed disbelievingly "Dr. Gaster is that truly you?" toriel asked a wide smile adorning her face at seeing her dear old friend from so long ago

gaster spread his arms wide showing his white lab coat "i sure hope so, it took a long time to come back" at this you chuckled both asgore and toriel having confused expressions "i think it may be my fault" you said walking away from the door then sitting on the couch, at this toriel rounded onto you, followed by asgore, frisk was off somewhere with rose most likely so it was up to you and gaster to retell the tale

after you and gaster finished, both Dreemurrs were sitting on the couch along with you. questions came spilling from their mouths and you did your best to answer them, after a long while both toriel and asgore were out of questions and were simply in awe.

"was this your surprise y/n?" asgore said, you chuckled raising from your seat you walked over to the kitchen door frame

"wellll....there is one more" you entered the kitchen and took a shaking hand that belonged to chara, you smiled at her and whispered "chara, don't you want to re-meet your family?" chara looked into your e/c eye and took a deep breath.

"yes"

~<~<~<~Asgore's POV~>~>~>~

when y/n went into the kitchen to get her second surprise i turned to gaster "do you have any idea what other surprise y/n may have in store?" gaster chuckled looking at the kitchen door way "i may have a vague idea" tori turned to him "could you tell us? i have been wondering since i got that text from y/n" 

once again gaster chuckled "i do not need to, see for yourself" he gestured forward and i turned my head to the kitchen only to see two people standing in the door way one was y/n and the other....

was my long lost daughter, chara

tears came to my eyes and i leapt to my feet, tori doing the same, tears were going down her face and my own was coming to the same result "c-chara?" i asked softly our once lost daughter smiled up at both me and tori, letting go of y/n's hand she rushed to us not speaking a word as tears were going down her own rosy cheeked face

i made no hesitation and rushed to her as well, tori following i scooped her up into my muscled arms and hugged her, careful to squeeze her too hard, tori joined and i wrapped one of my arms the other holding chara in-between us tori was sobbing and as was i, chara doing the same

how could someone not cry over someone you thought was dead....only to be alive?
