The Worrier

Sans was pacing.

This seemed to be a regular thing now.

It's been a couple of days since you've been brought back, and since then, you've told everyone about what happened on your side of things. Before they came, and what the markings were. Though you didn't say anything about the Mysterious Girl. The markings had faded into your skin tone a few hours after you woke up, but if you used any sort of magick they would glow just enough where you could see their outline.

At this moment, you were sitting on your bed, your empty breakfast plate beside you on the side table. Staring at your boyfriend walk back and forth, back and forth. Muttering here and there, you weren't even sure if he knew you were looking at him.

So, you swung your legs over the side of your bed with only a little trouble and stood in front of his next pass. He bumped into you and you wrapped your arms around him. Surprised, Sans stiffened, but when he realized who you were, he sighed and started patting your head. You dug your face into his shoulder.

"You shouldn't be standing." He mumbled. Reaching his arms to return your hug.

"Maybe you shouldn't be pacing" You mumbled back.

Sans remained silent, though he did bring the two of you a bit closer. The two of you stayed like that for a few minutes, before you spoke up.

"So what's on your mind?" Sans sighed.

"I'm trying to figure out a way where you never see Warrior again without fighting her." You furrowed your eyebrows together.

"There is a way. But that's only by using the markings."

"And how do you know that?"

"Uhhh..."

Sans leaned back, looking you in the eyes. You bit your bottom lip, unsure if you should tell him. I mean, he's always been by your side. And maybe by telling him he won't be so worried?

"Well," You started "There's this girl that's been appearing in my dreams for a while. She's the one who gave me the markings, and the one who said they'll banish Warrior from our world."

Sans blinked.

"She's also the reason I'm a Cowl."

Sans' mouth dropped open.

"And she's the one who gave me my powers in the first place."

Sans looked baffled by the new information you just gave him. But now that you were talking, you couldn't seem to stop. The things she told you became too much to keep to yourself.

"Apparently she's been watching me my whole life, the Shadows are an old enemy of hers, don't ask I don't know the details. But apparently, they got away from her and so she had to find them again, she found them here, in this universe. And that's what's been causing all this heartache. They're also not just attacking this timeline, but others as well. That's why she gave me the markings, she can't enter our world because otherwise, the Shadows would completely explode the entire planet. The markings are her magick. They can take Warrior out of here and we won't ever have to worry about her ever again."

Finally done with your spiel, you sucked in a big breath and waited for Sans' response.

"What in the living-" He started.

After you had explained your guts out to Sans, and he had some time to adjust, you both went downstairs. Apparently, Toriel had been housing a girl that your friends had rescued while on Mt. Helens. You wanted to meet her, and so after she had been accustomed to the area, Toriel decided to bring her the Skele-bros. house.

You stared at the little girl in front of you. Apparently, her name was Isadora, her raven hair looked neatly brushed, and the tiny versions of your own extras adorned her. She returned your staring, looking just as surprised.

As you both sat across from each other on the floor, you were the first to speak.

"I have so many questions"

Isadora blinked.

"I have some too!" She exclaimed, she took one of her hands and pointed it directly at your face, instinctively, you jerked back.

"You are going to save my mommy right?" She blurted out.

It was your turn to blink, you remembered what Sans said before she had come over. That apparently the Cowls you saw before being placed into the plexiglass cage were all being controlled by Warrior.

Without thinking much, you nodded. Still whirling from the fact of this kid was a Cowl. Like you. Once Isadora saw your nod her face lit up. A positively adorable smile stretched from cheek to cheek. She threw her hands above her head and cheered.

"Yay! I miss my mommy, and Number 57, he's like a big brother." You fell silent as Isadora started talking about Number 57 and her mother.

Then, something strange happened. You felt it rather than seeing it at first. But little sparkles of pink Magick started to glitter out of her brown eyes.

The more animated she got about her loved ones the more they sparkled. You sat there completely hypnotized, the feeling of it was light and happy. It must've been the effect of her not having complete control over her powers.

"There was also this one time where Dr. Cain almost took me from my momma and Number 57 slapped him! He was put in the cells for a week after that."

You blinked rapidly, coming back from your thoughts as the name 'Cain' was spoken.

"He did?" you asked surprised. Isadora nodded enthusiastically. You grinned.

"Cain deserved it."

"He sure did! My momma didn't let me go for the rest of the day. Oh! I remember something else!!"

You tilted your head, egging her on.

Sans and the Muskets watched as you devoted most of your attention to Isadora. Somewhat sulking. Toriel walked out of the kitchen and spotted them in all of their pouty glory sitting on the stairs and chuckled quietly to herself. She padded over and lightly tapped Sans on his shoulder, he looked up to her, and the rest of the Muskets also looked towards the Goat-mom.

"Would you like to help me in the kitchen? I can't seem to find the ladles." She offered. She didn't seem to really need help, but it was something to do rather than look forlornly at the Cowl pair.

"Sure," Sans agreed.

The group all stood up and followed her to the kitchen and helped her finish dinner. Soon, Toriel called that dinner was ready and everyone settled around the table.

"So, what should we do this evening? I was thinking we could watch a movie together." Toriel piped up, eager to include everyone in the conversation, you looked up from Isadora and thought for a second.

"That sounds like fun, I saw a trailer for a new family movie that just came out the other day."

"Which one was it?" Agrian asked.

"I think it was called 'Luca'?" You answered, Agrian nodded.

"I've seen that one too! It looks really cool"

Toriel smiled and nodded.

"How does everyone else think of it?" After getting a lot of agreeing statements, Tori clapped her paws together.

"Wonderful! I shall go set it up, Gaster if you are done would you like to help me?" Gaster nodded.

"I'd be delighted to, Toriel."

'I bet Luca's dad would have a hard time with the Ferris Wheel'

Everyone started laughing at Rose's comment, only Isadora looked confused. Toriel, through giggles, explained what she had said. Soon Isadora was also a giggling mess.

They had just finished the movie and were now just making light fun of the characters in different situations. The one they were on right now, was how the Luca cast would feel about going to a normal human Fair.

As the laughter died down, a knock started to come from the door. Pap jumped from his seat and rushed to answer it. You quietly wondered who would be knocking at this hour, though you ruffled Rose's hair as a punishment for her comment. She playfully swiped away your teasing hand shooting you a mock irritated expression.

"HELLO! WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?" Pap's loud voice echoed from the foyer.

Someone seemed to answer, and when you looked over, you saw Pap backpedal away from the door. A shocked look on his skull.

"Everything good bro?" Sans called, Pap looked over. Then back at the door. Sans was on his feet and walked over. Before he too jumped back.

"Why are you here?" He snapped. Summoning a bone from out of nowhere.

Now you were curious. Waving your hand, your cover settled into your extras as you also stood. The happy atmosphere settled into something of confusion for your siblings. Sans held up a hand signaling you to stop and not come any closer.

"Answer me," He told the people at the threshold.

You shuffled slowly forward, as to not alert Sans that you were in fact, not staying put. and managed to hear the sentence that the other side was saying.

"We need to speak to (Y/n)" A male voice said with a note of panic.

You strode to be in front of Sans, who instantly grabbed your arm to stop you but it was too late.

"What do yo-" You stopped. You saw who was outside. The sight churned your stomach, years of anger and pain starting to resurface all over again seeing the two of them side by side.

Cain and Gloria.

W̴A̵R̴R̵I̴O̸R̸

"YOU INSOLENT FOOL!!" I roared.

The Cowl I was scolding didn't even flinch. Such was the effect of being under my control.

And yet... Even with my control it still didn't complete the task I set it to do even remotely right. If I want to get rid of Her and her little friends then I cannot afford mistakes. Not any more.

Yet, the mistake now was letting both of that little Angel's biological parents escape. And by escape I mean out of my manipulation. I had that idiotic Cain wrapped around my finger. Now, I can no longer sense him as part of my arsenal.

Growling, I flipped a metal table from where it had been screwed into the concrete floor with one hand, the other I sliced up and cut the metal into several chunks in an effort to let out my frustrations.

And it clearly wasn't working.

Still seething, I stomped over to the Black Container. It opened when it sensed my presence nearing and as I entered it, I let out on last command.

"Gather the Cowls. We fly at Dawn." The Cowl I had just finished reprimanding turned around and exited the room.

"That idiotic (Y/n) has no idea what is coming for her," I seethed, relishing in the feeling of my powers from the Void entering my system. I guess I should send her a nice little letter where we may have our final battle.

Gathering some energy, I sent the message where she would find it. right in the middle of the pure magick she carried with her. I sneered at the ichy feeling, being reminded of who gave her such power in the first place.

"As for that little goody-two-shoes Zen-" I cut myself short before I said her full name. A highly uncomfortable strike of lightning curled from the base of my spine before spiraling up. I growled and shook myself to rid myself of the dreaded energy.

"Her protector," I corrected angrily, "Well. I suppose we'll do the same song and dance as we've done for millennia"
