Gloria!?

'Sorry everybody, I have something I need to do. Something I should've done sooner' You thought still glaring at the evil version of yourself as the goo completely curled around your eyes. Encasing you in darkness.

~~~~
The dark was really starting to tick you off.
Like. REALLY tick you off.
But there wasn't much you could do.
All you could do is stare at the bars that you could barely see. And stare at them you did.
Straining your ears at the creaks and moans the ceiling sometimes made from people walking above.
The crude magick-stealing cuffs hanging loosely from your wrists, but not to lose as to slip them off.
It's been at least a day. Which will be well enough time to let your family know that something had happened. And something bad.
Since the black attack unwound from your form you haven't uttered a sound. Even when the golden thorn choker was taken off. Not a peep was heard from your lips.
Of course, Cain took that as that you would comply silently. To not rebel.
He was wrong as per usual when it came to you, you were simply biding your time, saving your energy. Because you knew from previous experiences that you would need it.
But there was also something else. There was someone else in the cell with you.
They were not aggressive, that's for sure. You've heard the shaky breaths they've been trying to keep silent.
And from the energy they were expelling from behind you, they were really, really scared.
Part of you wanted to turn around and see who you were sharing this dismal experience with. So you could save them as well if necessary.
'Cause that's just what you did when surrounded by the dark.
You saved someone.
But the other part of you said that you shouldn't turn around. You shouldn't mingle with a possible enemy. That was the frightened part of you. The more cautious, logical, and serious part of you.
It was screaming at you this time. You had gotten captured again. It had been telling you that you should've been getting ready for another attack, but what did you do? You brushed it aside and procrastinated. Man, you were such a brat. You don't want anybody hurting your family but you do nothing to get stronger than your enemies and now you had to pay for it.
But, there was never harm in meeting someone, so you told your brain to shut up and asked into the black:
"So, What you in for?"
Silence.
"I got abducted while playing a game with my family." You continued "Kind of hilarious, cause they don't realize that I'm not meant to keep locked up."
More Silence.
You smiled. Their breathing got heavier, you kept yours nice and calm still keeping your eyes directed at the bars. More specifically, the lock.
Then after a few minutes, a rough, melancholy, female voice echoed from behind you.
"W-What do you mean by that?" It said weakly. As if they hadn't used it in a long time.
Your smile grew a bit, chuckling you replied to their question.
"They've tried once before, and I got out. So I'll just get out again."
"How?" The voice asked, quicker this time.
"By doing what I always do." You paused "Not give them what they want"
"Does that work?" The despondent voice inquired.
"Every time" Came your answer. You shifted your cramped legs and finally drifted your gaze away from the only exit out of here and down to your crystal hanging from the light gray chord.
Its glow was dim, barely maintaining a stable light source so you could make out its outline. Unfortunately, it was because of the cuffs surrounding your wrists.
"They'll torture you if you don't give them what they want," The voice said, "And they always get what they want..." You looked to the side of your vision then turned your head slightly.
"Sounds like you've had experience" You coaxed.
"More than I ever needed in my life," The voice replied bitterly.
You turned all the way around and lifted an eyebrow at the figure "That makes two of us, what'd they do to you?" The figure shifted.
"They took me from prison. Then demanded that I join them. I refused, and they began zapping me. They only stopped yesterday, when I caved. It doesn't mean I'm doing this willingly though. They put me in here with you to try and make sure you don't get out of those cuffs." You huffed.
"Only these cuffs?" You raised your chained hands and the figure nodded, at least, you thought she did.
"Huh," You turned around. Your legs were starting to burn, and thought about what she said. Zapped? That didn't sound too fun, but, you didn't put it past Cain.
"Do you know who I am?" You asked. The voice's breathing hitched.
"No, but they told me you were powerful" You laughed out loud. You couldn't help it.
"Me? Powerful? Nah, I can't make a weapon out of Magick to harm much of anything." You kept chuckling, but the voice said something that caught your attention. Immediately.
"Really? I was told that you were more powerful then Warrior, more powerful then the rest of the Cowls" You shut my mouth.
"Rest of the Cowls?" You mumbled.
"You don't know? Mr. Cain is creating an army of Cowls. He's been using the old staff of this lab to do so." Now it was your turn for your breathing to hitch.
Memories of all the suffering you had experienced during the existential tests Cain put you through started to ring in your head. Was he doing that to all of those innocent people too? You struggled to even your breathing. This wasn't just about you or your family anymore. Cain had dragged normal people into this mess.
"...You really didn't know" The voice perceived when you began shaking.
"What's your name?" You asked, wanting to be distracted from this information you've just been given.
"(Y/n), I'm so sorry. Could you turn around?" The voice sounded a little more resolute and confident, you scooted around in a circle and faced the female head-on. You narrowed your eyes in the dark. But she spoke first, and her answer made it even harder to breathe then her previous bomb of more Cowls.
"My name is Gloria, your mother."
Your crystal sparked and the cuffs exploded. The pieces flying to the walls and digging into the cement.
"What." Was all you said.
Magick filled your body and was begging to be released. You pushed it down with a weak will, making it slowly seep though your eyes turning them to a glowing (F/c) and pass as thin tendrils outward. The glow they were giving off was strong enough to add light into the room, you took in your mother's widened eyes and blonde hair so dirty it looked brown. Her skin once porcelain, now streaked with grime and blood.
You hung your head and smiled. "So Cain dragged you here too?" You raised your hands and heard the sharp intake of breath Gloria took and stopped, then continued to place them in your lap.
"Relax, I'm not gonna hurt you. I doubt I could if I tried. You are my mother after all..." Your cat ears twitched at the sound of Gloria shifting in her place.
"I-I wasn't expecting that" She said finally. You chuckled.
"We're both getting out of here, Gloria," You stood up, keeping my head hung low. Hearing guards nearing the cell.
"Cause I have some unfinished business. Thanks for giving me a heads up" You looked to her slightly cowering. Keys jingled in the lock and you whipped around throwing three Owl Claws at once. All of them glowing, with essence of Boom Kitty.
The reason that seeing Gloria gave you such a jolt of energy, wasn't that she made you angry. No, it was because you realized that Cain had stooped so low as to make sure the family was all together to see him succeed in his messed up plan he had concocted. And you know how your  family affects you. Both good and bad.
The cell door blew open and all three guards yelped in surprise. You flicked your wrist to summon another few and had them nail Gloria's clothes to the wall so it looked like you had stopped her from tackling you. Looking back once more she was in shock and you huffed running out of the cell and out into the hallway.
