Epilogue

I paced around the hallway. Scared out of my mind. My dad and Alphys were trying everything they could to get (Y/n) to wake up. She hadn't stirred since that blast she had delt to Warrior. Which was a few days ago.

"So you must be Sans." I shot my head up when my name was called and was greeted by the strangest sight.

There stood a teenage girl, with an oversized robe, stark white hair, the most piercing purple eyes I've ever seen, and a mild case of acne. She was standing against the wall with her arms folded and a friendly smirk on her face.

"That...would be me" I answered carefully, not quite sure what to make of this newcomer. She just chuckled and pushed off the wall.

"Don't mind me, I'm just passing through. I'm only here to make sure that dear (Y/n)'s magick is returned to its proper owner. Speaking of, here it comes." I watched in amazement as (F/c) tendrils I had come to know as part of (Y/n)'s power swirled out of the very door that she was behind.

The swirls of magick drifted into mist and turned into a mixture of Purple, Turquoise, and White. All the while curling around the young girl. I took a step back when a bright light erupted in the hallway as soon as she touched the shimmering mist.

When the flash died down, the girl was gone. In her place was a floating female deity. She had pure silver eyes, the robe was instead a cape attached at the shoulders, just barely grazing the ground, and her hair was flowing in curls like a slow-motion waterfall.

I stumbled and she turned to me.

"Best not think much of it, Sans. Just take good care of her, she's gonna need all the help she can get." With that. She disappeared.

Like, poof, gone.

I blinked frantically and wondered why I was staring at nothing.

"What-?" I was cut off when the door slammed open and (Y/n) frantically rushed out looking everywhere. Before stumbling.

I rushed to catch her and pulled her close. Sliding on the floor before coming to a stop. "Woah there, Pancake, take it easy." Her hand gripped my jacket, she looked up and released a big breath.

"Did you see her?" She asked, I raised a bone brow.

"Uhh, it's just been me in this hallway for a while now, you feeling alright?" Her eyes dimmed and a defeated sigh came from her lips.

"Y-yeah... I feel a little weird, but that's to be expected I guess." I chuckled and held her tighter.

Dad came out at that moment and kneeled down beside us. Looking both scared and relieved.

"The Heck (Y/n). You can't just give me a heart attack like that." He lightly scolded. (Y/n) chuckled nervously, and dug her face into the floof of my hoodie.

"This will take some getting used to..." She mumbled.

'I'll say,' I thought, seeing that her add-ons were no longer a part of her being. She didn't have that sense of magick either, she felt... well, Normal.

After (Y/n) gathered more of her strength, she returned to Dad's little lab room to do some final tests to see if she was in tip-top shape. Surprisingly, she passed every test with flying colors, she walked beside me as we all made our way out of the Hotland Highway Lab.

"Oh! Another thing (Y/n), dad said suddenly, digging through his pockets, producing a leather wallet, and offering it to her. "This came in the mail, it was addressed to you, though I have no idea what it's for."

Once (Y/n) saw it, she smiled, gently taking it from dad she said "You'll see soon, thanks for getting it." My dad and I shared a glance but shrugged as (Y/n) put it in the back pocket of her jeans.

However, what we saw who was just outside the doors made all of us stop. Narrowing my eyes, I tightened my grip on (Y/n)'s hand. Why were they here?

In front of the doors were Cain and Gloria. Looking sort of lost as they kept glancing over their shoulders. That, or they were watching to see if the police arrived. I was about to tug (Y/n) behind me when she stepped up and let go of my hand with an easy-going smile.

"It's alright, I asked them to be there." She explained.

I blinked and pulled a confused face which (Y/n) just chuckled at as she made her way to the doors. I rushed to remain at her side as the two terrible people snapped to attention when the glass doors opened.

Dad also trailed behind us, so it was us three facing the pair. Gloria had her hands in the pockets of her cargo pants, Cain kept playing with his hands as (Y/n) looked at the both of them. The amount of nervousness coming off of them was almost palpable.

"So...." Cain started. Trying to break the silence "It went okay...?" he put a hand on the back of his neck, his attention solely on (Y/n). She nodded.

"I have two things I need to say to the both of you." She stated. She folded her arms and planted her feet on the sidewalk. Looking 10 times more confident than both of her birth parents combined.

"1. I'm keeping my siblings, they're happy right where they are. There's a school for both Monsters and Humans that's starting this coming semester." They nodded, not daring to argue with her. "2. Gloria, your charges are still revoked thanks to Cain's lackeys. And Cain because you were a government scientist everything that has been done on Mt. Helens has been erased. It's like you don't exist."

The adults' jaws dropped.

"So, because you both have nothing holding you back" (Y/n) continued, lifting a hand. "You're free to do whatever you want. Within the laws of course. Which brings me to ask you this." She released her arms and stuck out her right hand as if to give a handshake.

"If you promise to inform me where you are, and to distance yourself from any harmful stuff. I'm willing to let you guys go scot-free and not tell anybody about what you've done to my siblings and me. How'za 'bout it?"

Gloria and Cain stared at her. Then at her hand, then back at her.

"You- You'd really just let us go unpunished?" Gloria asked softly. (Y/n) snarked.

"You've been punished. And while I would love knowing that both of you are behind bars far far away from me for the rest of your miserable lives-" Cain and Gloria shrank into their shoulders at (Y/n)'s slightly harsh tone. "-I've decided to be the bigger person. So, you gonna shake my hand or not?"

The pair looked at her hand once again then at each other. Cain raised his left and slowly clasped it with her outstretched one. (Y/n) kept a tight hold as she shook his hand up and down a couple of times before releasing and offering it to Gloria. She seemed to struggle to comprehend the situation in front of her, though eventually she also shook hands with (Y/n).

"I'm sorry" She mumbled, (Y/n) shook her head.

"Apologies haven't been a suitable exchange in this family for years," She told Gloria. Linking her hand with mine as soon as her handshake ended. "Show me that I didn't make the wrong choice by not turning you in... Mr. and Mrs. Tanvo"

The pair blinked at their new name. (Y/n) smiled and tugged a wallet out of her pocket. Handing it to Cain, she explained.

"Did some digging, turns out you guys had wanted to take Gloria's maiden name but didn't in the end. Well, as (L/n) has been pretty much jack full of some terrible info, I took the liberty of changing your last name and mine. In there are a couple of debit cards with 100 dollars each. A taxi is waiting just around the bend. Take care"

With that, she turned towards the road and tugged my hand to signal me to follow, I did so peering at her face to see her slightly uneasy, but determined expression, she was certain to make this choice. I smiled when her eyes darted to meet mine and I nodded while squeezing her hand.

"Wait! (Y/n)!!" Cain called out, (Y/n) didn't turn around, she just raised her empty hand and waved it.

"Didn't I tell you to show me I didn't make a wrong choice? Use that big brain of yours for something good, old man" She peered over her shoulder and threw the couple a carefree smile. before leading the three of us down a street towards my house.

"That was a very admirable thing you just did, dear (Y/n)," Dad said, after the lab was out of sight. (Y/n) chuckled putting her hand on the back of her neck.

"I guess so, I'm not exactly sure why I did it... They've never really done anything for me, or the Muskets, I suppose I'm just giving them a second chance." I let go of her hand to hook my arm around her shoulders, making her look at me.

"You're just that amazing, Pancake. Though if I was you I would've just thrown them in the slammer" She chuckled.

"There was a time I would have too."

"What changed?"

"..."

(Y/n) looked up into the sky. Eyes searching for something.

"...My eyes were open to another perspective." That was all she said, I tilted my head to the side then looked out at the sky along with her. Wondering what she saw.

THIRD-PERSON

~Somewhere in the Anti-Void~

A young girl that had just left the timeline her old foe had been thrown out of, hopped out of an invisible portal. Her white hair flowing behind her as she fell the short way to the impossible ground.

"Sorry 'bout that Shad," She hummed, looking up to the mass of darkness in front of her. "had some unfinished business that doesn't concern you. Where were we?"

The mass just unfurled menacingly, growling like a thousand different animals, some not even of Earth in any of its variants. The girl smirked.

"Right, battle time" Her body started to glow as her amethyst irises faded away to a sheen of silver. Pushing off the ground, she spun in the air, her hands a blur as she drew symbols on either side of her before bringing them all together. Releasing a giant blast of energy when she righted herself at the climax of her jump.

The mass absorbed the energy like a pill. Before growling again and flinging little projectiles at the white-haired girl. She parried every single one, her face one of concentration. Soon, after a few more exchanges, she fell into a routine, just as she had in the past. She found herself reminiscing the past battles she's had with this very same Evil.

Good and Evil have always been at war with one another, everyone knows that Good prevails in the end, but no story really ends. And so, neither does their fight. Zenfilia is only a name to the girl, just as the same as Sarah, Jessica, (Y/n). She has no sort of connection to it, she is just the personification of good, while the mass is just the personification of Evil, shapeless.

Since Evil is around every corner, while Good is an action done by sentient beings. A girl is just a gender since anyone can be good. Zenfilia is just a name she has felt helps others to connect her to an identity, and Girl is what she chose to be to fit the name. She wasn't even young, as she had told her allies. She was as old as Stories themselves. As was her partner that was currently trying to strangle the life out of her.

She snapped out of her thoughts as she grunted, struggling to free herself.

'Curses' she thought to herself, she let her mind wander too far again. This is exactly what happened before the Shadows lept into (Y/n)'s timeline.

Just then a harried shout cut through the gross gurgling of the mass.

"Zenfilia!!" The Good incarnation snapped her head up to see three skeletons she had befriended come running. Ink, Dream, and Blueberry.

'Oh fudge no' Zenflia thought to herself horrifically, that can't interfere, or Shad just might be able to escape again. Into another timeline in this area of the Anti-void. She had to get the both of them away from here.

With that resolve, she breathed in and let herself be consumed.

"NO!" The Star Sanses all yelled.

Only, she let a powerful energy ball grow inside her. It took no less than two seconds before she let it explode, releasing her from the mass. The Star Sanses all screeched to a stop as she landed right in front of them facing the enemy. Her form had no injuries whatsoever, her cape still in perfect condition.

"You three can't be here! I told you already, concern yourselves with fights you can win!!" She barked at them before launching at the mass, blasting it away from the trio.

"We came to help!" Dream shouted, the mass cowered just a little against the onslaught of Zenfilia's attacks. She looked at them and they all froze at the sight of her silver eyes.

However, that was her mistake. The mass took the opportunity to grab her in claws it formed from the oily substance it was made out of. Grunting, Zenfilia started to let her hand glow with energy before another form sliced the claw hand off of the mass. Shad let out a horrible scream as the white-haired female gracefully landed as Dream popped next to her as well.

She grabbed his glove and pulled him to the other side of her as the mass flopped a poorly made arm where he had been standing in an effort to absorb him. Swirling her finger, she made a gust of wind blow him farther away. She did the same for Ink and Blue, who were trying to get close as well.

Jumping from the ground she turned to the mass before making a wide circle with her arms. The mass jerked away but moved too slowly with its bulkiness to avoid the devastating blow of light that produced because of Zenfilia's spell. After it faded, the mass wiggled dejectedly, knowing it would be a few minutes before it would be able to right itself again.

Zenfilia made use of those minutes to fly right to where she had blown the Star Sanses, who were a bit disoriented.

"Look." She started sternly. "I have told of who I am. I have told you who I fight. I have told you exactly why you cannot help me in any capacity. As since you are my allies, Shad over there will only use you to get to me. Correct?" Ink nodded, holding his skull.

"We just thought-"

"I'm working on getting us away from your timelines and universes," Zenfilia interrupted, sensing that Shad was getting back on their hypothetical feet. "If you join me in this battle it's going to be hard to do that, as none of you can survive in another universe. You will cease to exist. Am. I. Clear?"

Zenfilia was only being harsh because in all the time she had been alive it was better if the allies she gathered heard harsher words coming from her as the last things she said to them, it made them less willing to fight beside her. She had lost too many friends the other way, and she was determined to not let another one fall.

The Star Sanses all dropped their heads so their gazes looked at the ground.

"It's no fair you have to fight all by yourself," Blue murmured. Zenfilia sighed, rubbing her temple, she's had this conversation too many times to count.

"Who said I was by myself?" She replied, the three Sanses looked up and once she had their attention she snapped her fingers. Thousands of forms of all of her past allies started to appear, they were slightly see-through, which meant that they weren't real, but still there to offer her support.

Four new forms appeared, three of them in the exact likeness of the Star Sanses, they stood beside Zenfilia looking at the real versions of themselves. The fourth was a girl that had owl wings, cat ears, and a cat tail. The Star Sanses that were sitting on the ground widened their eyes and looked to Zenfilia for answers. She smiled kindly, her eyes flashing purple for a second.

"Every friend I have ever made is always fighting by my side. Every good person is what fuels me and my resolve to fight the evil of the entire cosmos. Every story, every tale, every adventure, is a part of me and them." She pointed to the mass that was growing taller by the second.

"As long as you don't forget what you fight for in your own tale, you help me in the way it matters, without the danger of you to stop existing." She finished her spiel, and prepared to jump once again to fight the mass that was slowly growing closer.

"So, please, keep an eye on all your stories for me, K?" She didn't wait for their answer before launching into the air, the spirits of her friends all following her like they were tied to a string and she held the other end.

As the Star Sanses watched as she plummeted to the mass, her form a glow of white against the black, they all shouted back in unison:

"WE WILL!"

Once the two sides collided, an intense wind picked up and tore through the entire area. The Star Sanses covered their eyes with their arms, but when the wind died down and they lowered their arms. Zenfilia, her allies, and the Mass were gone.

Gone into another Story to fight their battle.
