Ouran accepts another commoner?!
*ring* *ring*
I awoke to the monstrosity called the phone. I leaped up out of bed and rushed to the phone down the hall.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Greetings, this is Ouran academy. You are invited to come and attend the prestigious school for the wealthy. Please, answer if you want to attend." A man on the other side said.
My mind drew a blank.
"Uhh." Was all I could say, but it was enough for the man.
"Great. School starts Monday, so get prepared." Then he hung up.
"What just happened?" I asked the air.
"Bubby!" I heard a shout come from one of the rooms in this big place.
I ran into the girls rooms.
"What's wrong, Airi?" I asked the trembling girl.
She was on the floor, breathing heavily and trying not to cry.
"I had a nightmare." She said, with a hiccup.
"I dreamed that everyone died. It was really bad." She sobbed quietly.
"Shh, its ok. Big brothers here." I comforted as I pet her hair.
She smiled and crawed back into bed. She laid back down, soon falling back asleep.
"Its almost time for everyone to get up. I have to start making breakfast and tell Aunty Clair what happened on the phone." I said, with a sigh.
I got up from her bed and walked out into the hall, only to be greeted by another little one, a boy this time.
"Hi, what's wrong?" I asked him.
"I want to help you make breakfast." The boy said, with a smile.
"So do I." Called a little girl, coming out of the room I just came from. Their identical faces shined in excitement.
I laughed at their eagerness in the morning.
"Ok, ok. You both can come help. What do you want to eat?" I asked.
"Pancakes."
"Waffles."
They both looked at each other, with a fight in their eyes.
"Guys, I can make both." I said, hoping to calm them down.
The two kids smiled, and dragged me downstairs, where Aunty Clair was sitting in the kitchen reading a book.
"Hi, Aunty." I said.
"Hi, Hibiki. Sora, Sota." She said to me, then the little twins.
"Hi." Said the twins, in sync.
"I'm making breakfast. What do you want?" I asked Aunty.
"I'm good with my instant coffee." She stated, taking a drink.
I nodded and walked into the kitchen, the floorboards creaking.
I put on an apron and said to the kids
"Let's get started."
I put the powder mix in a big bowl. I sighed as I saw the bowl was kinda cracked.
"Hey, Sota, get me some milk." I asked.
"Got it." He shouted, running to go get the milk from the fridge.
"Sora, could you go get the orange juice."
"Okie dokie." She said, skipping to the fridge.
I made the rest of the pancakes and waffles without them.
They came back and placed 2 cartons of milk and 3 jugs of squeezed orange juice on the table, along with 15 cups.
"Alright, the pancakes and waffles are done." I said "Go wake up the others." I told the twins.
"Okay." They said, again, in sync.
They grabbed pots and pans and wooden spoons and rushed upstairs. A couple of seconds later, I heard the loudest metal banging and running footsteps down the creaky stairs. I turned around to find all 14 kids had rushed down the stairs and into the kitchen, mouths watering.
"Hi, guys." I said.
"Hi, big bubby/brother."
"Everyone have a good sleep?" I asked, ready for a bunch of noise. But that didn't happen.
They all nodded or shook their heads.
I was shocked. They would normally be screaming over each other.
I looked into the other room to see Aunty fast asleep.
'Oh.' I thought, understanding.
"Ok, let's eat, but quietly." I whispered.
They nodded their heads in understanding.
I smiled at them and I pulled out the chairs for the littler ones and sat then down.
I said a prayer to bless the food. It was quiet, then chaos erupted in the form of eating.
Loud noises everywhere, kids shouting, laughing. Smiling faces everywhere.
'This is more like it.' I thought.
Suddenly, Aunty walked in.
"Hi, Aunty." All the little ones shouted.
"Hello, my little blossoms." She replied, a smile on her face, her eyes still exhausted from lack of sleep.
She sat down and started to eat the waffle. A smile appeared on her face.
"Hibiki, this is amazing, as always."
"Aunty, I have some news to tell you." I told her, nervous.
"What is it?" She asked.
"Aunty, I got accepted into Ouran." I said.
The room was silent, which was wierd.
"That's great! My little boy is growing up." She exclaimed, making all of the room erupt in cheer.
I smiled at my family.
Aunty continued
"You'll have to join a club and make some friends and..."
I stopped her.
"I need to be here to watch them." I said, my smile fading.
"Nonsense. I'll be here. And everyone here will be good, right?"
"Right, Aunty." The all said and giggled.
I sighed, happily.
"Okay, I'll join a club. Then I'll take you to meet them. How does that sound?" I asked the little ones, bending down to their level.
Another cheer sent up, and smiles broke out on every face.
Sora spoke up.
"Can we go to the park today?"
"Sure, let's go." I said, and everyone rushed to their jackets and ratty shoes.
"Bubby, come help me." A little girl voice asked. I walked over to the little 5 year old named Airi and zipped up her jacket.
"Bubby, help me next." Another voice called.
"Ok." I said, coming over to him.
Again, I zipped up the jacket for him. His name was Taiga.
"Everyone else ok?" I asked the group of kids.
They all agreed and I opened the old door. I took a big breath of fresh air and sighed, watching the little ones run to the Ouran park.
"Stay out of the street!" Aunty called out to them from just behind me.
The park was lavish and looked experience, then again, rich people did buy this.
As I walked in, one of the little boys, named Daiki, walked up to me.
"Bubby?" He asked.
"What's up?" I asked back.
"Could you push me?" He asked, with puppy dog eyes.
I sighed and smiled.
"Sure." I said, walking over to the swings. He sat down and I started to push him.
"Push me, too." A little girl called.
"Me too." Said a boy.
"Me three." Said another boy.
I pushed all three of them on the swing until they could pump themselves.
I watched the other little ones play on the other equipment, smiling and having fun.
'This is what I want for them. Not to live like I did.' I thought.
After a half an hour, I sighed and walked to a bench. Aunty was playing with some of ours and some were running, playing tag. I slumped into the bench and relaxed, only to feel a weight on my leg. I opened one eye and looked at the little girl in front of me. It wasn't one of ours.
"Hello. Are you lost?" I sat up, asking the little girl who was sniffling.
"No, mommy and daddy left me here. They said they never want to see me again." She cried. Tears fell down her face.
"Aww, don't worry." I said, wiping the tears. "Hey, I know a place where you can go. Come with me."
I grabbed her hand and lead her to Aunty.
"Hey, I found another one. She said that her parents abandoned her here." I told Aunty, who looked at the sniffling child.
"What's your name, little blossom?" Aunty Clair asked.
"Kika." Said the child.
"And how old are you?"
"I'm 9." She said, looking proud.
"Well, Kika, you can come live with us, if you'd like." Aunty explained.
"Really." The girl asked.
"Really." Said Aunty.
"Kiddo's! Time to come in and go home." Aunty shouted.
Soon, the swarm of kids made their way over, about 8 or 9 of them.
The rest were playing with Aunty, so they came over as well.
"What's going on?" "Aunty, is something the matter?" "What's wrong? Are we leaving?" The kids questioned.
"Guys. This is Kika, and she is joining us today." Aunty said.
The older ones smiled sadly, knowing what this means. The littler ones smiled happy, for they had someone to play with.
"Kika!" The little ones shouted, running up to her, laughing and smiling.
Kika flinched, but embraced the hugs given by the little ones.
"Let's go home." Aunty called.
