Ch. 7: Mayor Smith

Later on after your parents do some grocery shopping and they pick up Doris, you're at home. Your mom's cooking supper. You're up in your room and Doris is sitting in there with you. You're both listening to The Three Stooges on your radio and you're both laughing.

You can hear the shower running in your bathroom from your room. Hector is showering in there. Your parents went out and bought not just groceries for food, but they bought some men's clothing for Hector. Better ones than what he's had for a while. The clean folded up clothes are laying on the small table in the bathroom.

You look over at your opened bedroom door and you look at Doris. You say, "Hey, Doris. Wait here. I'm going to make sure Hector has enough towels to dry off with." She says, "But don't men only need one? Hardly any guy has long hair like girls do." You say, "Just in case. Keep listening to some comedy." She says, "Okay." You get up and you walk out of the room. Doris hears what one of the stooges say and she giggles.

You walk to the bathroom door and you can hear the shower going. You quietly turn the knob and you slowly push the door open. You see a bit of his silhouette from the glass door of the shower. The song playing is Rose O'Day by Kate Smith. You quietly hum to the song and you smirk.

You hear him singing to the song the song a bit and you tiptoe to the toilet. You grab the string like handle above and you look over. You grin and you whisper, "I'm going to be mean for once." You pull the string handle and the toilet flushes.

You can hear Hector yelping and he says, "Ahh! What the hell?!" You laugh. He stops and he faces you in the shower yelling, "(Y/N)! What are you thinking, toots?!" You approach the shower and you lean in and kiss the glass. He sees your lips on the other side of the glass.

He says, "You're lucky I took a liking to ya, girlie." You say, "Your clothes are right here, Hector. I'll leave, now." He says, "You sure?" You say, "Yeah. Sure." You see him turning and you look down from the glass at his behind.

He says, "I can feel your eyes on my ass there, toots." You grin and you say, "Be ready for supper when you're done.~" You walk out of there. Right in the shower, he looks back and he says, "She's lucky she's so damn pretty. And those lips. Oh god, I'm imagining those lips around my..." He looks away and whispers, "Never mind. Control yourself, Hector. You pervert." He continues showering.

You get back to your room and you sit on the bed next to Doris. She says, "Does he have enough towels?" You say, "Yeah. He does." You lay back and you sigh and say, "He's so handsome." Doris says, "Get together. Even I can tell he really likes you. And he's really nice."

You say, "I feel so bad that he had to hide in the woods for so long until I came along." She says, "At least now everyone knows he's innocent. It was Afton who murdered those women." You say, "Future news reporter." She says, "It's my dream. I'll do what I can to get that spot as one."

You hear your mom yelling up, "Girls! Hector! Supper's ready!" You yell, "Be right down, mama!" You look at Doris and you say, "Go on downstairs. I'm getting Hector." She says, "Okay." She walks out of your room. You turn your radio off.

You walk out of there and you head for your bathroom. You knock on the door and you say, "Hector. You almost done?" He says, "Yeah." You say, "Good. Supper's ready when you come out." He says, "Go on down. I'll be right downstairs with the rest of ya."

You say, "Okay. You alright?" He says, "Yeah. Don't flush the toilet on me again while I'm showering, alright?" You giggle. He says, "Yeah, real joy." You say, "Meet us downstairs." You walk off and you head downstairs.

You get down there and you see your mom setting the table. She sees you and says, "There you are, (Y/N) dear. Did you get Hector?" You say, "Yeah. He just got done with a shower. He'll be down in a little bit." She says, "Alright. Come eat your supper. I'm having Hector sit next to you." You sit down.

Hector gets downstairs and he says, "Sorry it took long Mr and Mrs. (L/N). I needed a good shower without havin' to sneak in here at night, this time. It wasn't that warm, either." Your mom says, "You poor dear. Come get your supper. Eat up."

Hector sits next to you and you blush and smile. Your mom says, "Normally, I'd say a prayer. But... I've lost that faith since my father died when I was fourteen years old. He himself worked for a church." Hector says, "Sorry to hear about your father. My mother's death took its toll on me, too. I loved her so much."

You all eat and Hector says, "Mm. This is delicious. It's been long since I had anything this good." Your dad says, "Well, enjoy what you can, boy. You're out of them woods, now." Your dad eats his supper. You all eat the rest of the time.

The next day, you, your parents and Hector are all at the city hall there in Clinton. Your dad works there now and he brought you and your mom with you. Hector tagged along. Besides, now everyone knows he's innocent.

You're all face to face with the mayor who is mayor Fritz Smith. Your dad says, "Hello there, Mayor Smith." Mayor Smith smiles and says, "Ah, Mr. (L/N). Welcome back. I see you brought your family." Your dad says, "Yeah. It ain't all of them, though. My youngest daughter is at school at the moment."

Mayor Smith... or Fritz says, "I'm sure I'll meet the little gal, soon." He looks at your mom and says, "Hello there." She says, "Hello, Mayor Smith. I'm Loretta. Richard's wife. This is our eldest daughter, (Y/N)." You smile and you say, "Hi there."

He says, "Well, she's a lovely one. Hello to you, Miss. (Y/N)." You say, "Nice to meet you." Your mom says, "Our youngest is Doris and she's eight years old. (Y/N)'s eighteen." Fritz sees Hector and he says, "And you are?" Hector says, "Not part of the family, but I'm a friend. Name's Hector Springtrap."

Fritz says, "Hold on... The same Springtrap from the woods? Falsely accused of two murders?" Hector sighs and says, "That's me." Fritz says, "I'm terribly sorry that happened to ya, my good man. Luckily, they got the real guy and he's behind bars. Former mayor William Afton. I can't begin to tell ya what he made poor Crystal Dahl do, especially. She was his assistant."

You look at Fritz and you say, "Ah crap. Please don't tell me he made her..." He sighs and nods saying, "'Fraid so, miss." Your mom says, "My god. What a disgusting excuse for someone who was the mayor of this town." Hector says, "Trust me... I know. I've been face to face with him before, for years."

Fritz says, "Crystal is still here if you would all like to meet her. The gal is only nineteen years old. Just a year older than you are." You say, "Yes. I would. I have so much to ask her. The shit she went through with that Afton guy." Your mom puts her hand on your shoulder.

Fritz says, "She's located in her office upstairs. Second door to the right." Your dad looks at you and says, "Go on ahead." You nod and you look at Hector saying, "I'll be back." You head for the stairs to find Crystal Dahl.
