Chapter 13 page 3
10 minutes after cooling down and my sweat all dried up, I got into the shower first while he went out taking a fag. When it was his turn to take the shower, I waited inside the training room browsing for anything other than Abs.
Nick called me from inside the shower room a few minutes later so I charged in with his duffel bag without hesitation. To my horror, he was standing in front of the mirror in nude. His body was facing away from me so that I could only see his butt cheeks.
"Woah!" I exclaimed and left the bag by a bench at the changing area. I spun for the door but he ordered me to stay.
"What's wrong with you? Never seen python unleashed before?" he turned his head at me.
"Nope," I said honestly, looking away facing the wall.
He gave an astonished look but immediately shrugged it off. "I thought you're eagerly wanting to admire my body art. Don't you want to take a gander at it?"
"I prefer to appraise them while keeping your genitals covered," I answered.
"You feminist empowering nudity only for your own kind? Isn't that sexist? Where's the equality to it?" he challenged.
"We also promote modesty among people," I said abruptly.
"Now you're just contradicting it," he chuckled and snapped his fingers at me for my attention. "My towel's in that bag."
While having my eyes shut, I unzipped the bag open and pulled out his grey towel, taking a few steps forward towards him while my arms reached up in the air with the towel in my hand. I felt his damp fingers touching mine as he pulled the towel away.
"Can I leave now?" I asked, taking a few steps back still with my eyes closed.
"Nope, I need to ask you something," he answered. I squinted my eyes to see blurry vision of him draping the towel over his shoulder with his upper body still exposed. I turned away towards the wall behind me.
"Can it wait?"
"No, I might forget," he insisted.
"Okay," I groaned.
"Tomorrow new year's eve, you've plans?"
"Yes, I plan to binge watching Big Bang Theory and sleep before the count down," I answered frankly.
"Brill, then you're coming with me," he replied.
"Where to?" I asked.
"Alderley Edge for a private new year's eve do," he said. "My manhood's all covered now."
I pried my eyelids open slowly, ensuring the truth to his claim. I finally opened my eyes when I found his towel wrapped around his lower body down to his knees.
"Okay, thank you," I heaved a sigh of relief. "Private party over Big Bang Theory? I guess I'm up for Alderley Edge."
"Good, then I'll pick you up by 8.00?" he suggested.
"I'll be ready by 8.00 then," I agreed. "Must be boujee. What should I be wearing? Let's go shopping this evening. I've always wanted to have a go at Hervia Bazaar."
"It's already half past 6.00 pm," he reminded me. "We won't be able to make it, even for Hervia Bazaar."
Oh, damn! I looked down at my wrist watch to see 6.32 pm in bold digits glaring at me. Nick was right, we just missed the operation hours of most shops within the city centre. But I doubted Nick would be interested to walk around in crowded areas with the possibility of bumping into people he tried to avoid, especially the family members of his dead victims.

The New Year's party at a mansion in Alderley Edge was already packed with invitees, servers and entertainers when we arrived. The whole ambiance looked swank and majestic, like a grand celebration with expensive brews from all over the world.
The place was lit up with colourful streams of lights that ran parallel to the boundary wall making it simple yet elegant. An enclosed marquee in the middle of the back garden was ancillary to the occasion for people to get down on the dancefloor.
Wealthy and affluent guests dressed in black tie from designers you can't even pronounce. They mingled around with each other, discussing important matters spanning from businesses to politics, work, charities, investments or simply just whispering campaigns over to one another.
Nick ordered me to have some fun while prohibiting me from exhibiting too much on social media. I paid less attention to my phone and scanned around the property for any famous celebrities other than some familiar faces I knew from BBC while DJ Goldierocks mixing the music to appease the crowd. That's when I saw Milla once again.
