It's barely close to noon, Jessie and James have been at the festival for a while now, taking it easy since the red haired rocket is still on crutches.

Lying beneath a sheet of stars, the duo wait for the fireworks to start. It was perfectly warm, not to hot not cold, making this the perfect evening for a festival. Jessie sighed as she leaned back, resting her head on James shoulder. James, who's sitting right behind the redhead, wrapped his arms securely around her torso. "Hey Jess?" the bluenette questions quietly to his girlfriend. she responds with a light "hm?" encouraging him to continue. "If I quit Team Rocket, would you go with me? Meowth says he'd follow us anywhere we go, and our Pokemon obviously go where ever we go. " He finishes with a nervous smile, but it instantly turns into a scared cringe as Jessie turns to him, an angry look on her face. "What kind of question is that, you dobe?! I love you don't I?" His face softens and a smile breaks across his face so large, he thought his cheek bones would break. "Ah, I guess I never thought of it that way. You do know that starting out we'll still have it rough, right?" 

She turns to him as much as her sore leg allowed with a huff. Smacking her hands over both of his cheeks, she pulls him so close to her she can feel his breath on her lips. "We've been through hell together these past ten years. There is nothing we can't get through, okay?" With that, she pulls him the rest of the way, kissing him softly but passionately. When she backs away, James stares at her with a dazed expression, nodding lightly at the fiery redhead. "I love you so much." He says quietly, almost a whisper, but they definitely reached Jessie's ears as her face flushes to match her hair and she starts spluttering and stuttering incoherent words. Just then, a firework was set off into the sky. The duo looks into the sky, a content smile. James looks to Jessie and smiles. "Wanna say the motto one more time for old times sake?" With a surprised smile, Jessie looks at James, then to the sky. 

"Prepare for trouble" she starts, making eye contact with her partner. "And make it double." 

"To protect the world from devastation." "To unite all peoples within our nation." 

"to denounce the evils of truth and love." James entwines one hand with Jessie's and reaches the other towards the sky. "To extend our reach to the stars above." 

"Jessie..." "James" "Team rocket blasts off at the speed of light." "Surrender now or prepare to fight fight fight." They look at each other just as a whistling rocket whisks away into the stars. Both jump when an excessively loud bang rings across the land. Laughing together, the two relax onto the ground, hands intertwined together.

Who knows what lies in their journey ahead. No one can tell, really, but I think they'll be okay.

AN: Did this in my relationships class so its not as long. This was honestly just a filler, the real story continues in the next chapter. The chapter will start off a few weeks after they left team rocket and got jobs at Meowth's noodle shop. well, see ya till then XD
