Chapter Two- Lunch

I thought about the girl when I woke up. Now it was getting weird. No matter how hard I tried to stop thinking about the girl, she kept popping up. I finished my homework when I got home. I got ready like usual and walked downstairs to see my Sister and Mom sitting around the island eating breakfast. I sat beside Adelyn, who was eating cereal. Mom was walking back and forth, packing our lunches for school. Mom always tried to pack us the same lunch so we wouldn't fight over who got what for lunch. She packed us something similar to the other day. "Are you taking us to school today?" Adelyn asked. "No, I can't do it every day. You both have to take the bus today." She explained. After we finished eating. Mom gave us our lunches and we walked down to the bus stop. There we a few kids already there. Adelyn's bus came first. I could tell she was nervous riding it alone. Her bus pulled up and she hugged me. I watched her get on the bus with some younger kids who looked around her age.

It was lunch already. The bus ride was good and few kids were on the bus. I got a seat to myself first, then a boy sat with me. The first few classes were good, but the teacher gave us more math homework. It was math I hadn't learned in a long time. This kind of math was something I wasn't good at. I could deal with the other types of math, but this math was harder than it seemed.

I walked to the library to eat lunch and work on the homework for the day. I sat in the same spot I did before. The girl was still there. She was sitting in the same spot as before. She looked up at me as I walked by. She was wearing that same vanilla scent as before. It was stronger. These kinds of smells gave me headaches.  She was still reading the same book as yesterday, but she read much more today than yesterday. Yesterday, she was reading the beginning of the book. Now she was almost finished with it. I started to work on my homework. I sat there trying to figure out how I did it last time. I stared at the paper lying on the table for a while. The vanilla scent was getting closer. I heard a chair being slid out beside me. I looked up and it was the girl.

She was sitting next to me. "I see you're struggling with this, aren't you?" She looked at me. She was very beautiful. Her voice was gentle. She was wearing makeup. I don't remember if she wore it yesterday or not. We stared at each other quietly for a few seconds. "Yes," I sturred out. "I'm Kaelyn," She held out her hand. I shook it. Her hand was soft and my hand smelt like vanilla after. "Kade," I whispered. "What did you say?" She spoke a little louder. "Kade," She laughed. It was cute. She told me she could help me with my homework and she did. She explained it to me in a different way than the teacher did. I understood and got the hang of it. She was very nice to me. I never had someone this nice to me other than my family. She helped me finish it and then the bell rang.
