Ashley thought about what Rachel has said, in her mind, "You want to apologize for what you have done?

You should be apologizing to, is Hayden. Because of you, his life wouldn't be the same again!" 

Ashley couldn't help it, but she feels guilty. It was so stupid, reckless attempt of making a friend, but it really wasn't all according what she wanted.

She walks to the animal shelter, where she decided to do her community services for her classes. 

Her job was to watch over the homeless animals that owners abandoned , and she wanted to make a change of giving each one a forever home, but she can get away from her parents too. 

But she never wanted the students of Berksville High to know her darkest secret about her family. 

As she was bringing the dog food, she bumps into another person as she collapse to the ground.

"Sorry about that. I guess I wasn't- Ashley?" The person stunned to see her at the animal shelter. 

It was Tim, Rachel's brother. 

"Timothy! Uh, I didn't know you would be here." She stammers nervously as Tim helps her up to her feet. 

"I happened to pick up some dog food for Barf. I didn't suspect you would be here." Tim explains which Ashley said, "Oh. " 

She puts the dog food package up to the shelf as she said, "I will be out in twenty minutes if you want to wait and chat. 

You can buy Barf's food on the right shelf, just be careful with the birds. They're quite perky around strangers. " 

As Ashley finished her shift, Tim and Ashley sat in a nearby park. 

Tim said, "You feel ok, I heard about your scholarship being taken away from you. What kind of Scholarship was it?"

"It was a scholarship for college. I was going to do a master degree for a vet." 

"You want to be a Vet? Is that why you became a Cheerleader?" Tim asks, more curious to learn about the bully who caused his sister to cause so much pain.

"It wasn't my choice, it was my father's  idea, and mother agreed, they wanted me to be this perfect girl, and I have to obey their rules.

If I don't..." She show Tim to abusive scars on her arm. 

"Where you get those marks, Ashley? " Tim asks. 

"From my father. He abused me. Mother never knew about it, though, so I basically put an act to show I wasn't scared. "  Ashley admits. That causes Tim to be in total shock and shaken. 

He never thought that the Hofferson's were being that cruel to their own child, especially their own daughter. 

"Ashley, you have to stand up for yourself. Prove to your parents that you can be whatever you want to be." Tim said. 

"Oh, gee, how I suppose to do that?!? I made things absolutely worse! I made a car accident because of my actions , made Hayden hate me because I put him in a three-month coma and get him almost lose his life! 

And I embarrassed your sister in front of the whole school, there's no way that I can change the past."

"Ashley, you can change your future! Go to Hayden, explain what's going on. He'll understand, I do. You're my friend, Ash."

"Really? You consider me as a friend after what I've done to you and your sister?" Ashley said, total shock.

Tim smiles, as he puts his hand in her shoulder, "I do. Now go make things right with Hayden and Rachel."  

As she walks away home, she notices Hayden. "Hayden, wait up!" But as she was running to him, she was about to get hit by a truck as Hayden quickly grabs her hand. 

Hayden couldn't believe it. He has saved Ashley Hofferson, the person who had put him into a three-month coma, and she seems different. 

She was wearing a blue shirt and pants, wearing an animal shelter sheet over her clothes. 

"Ashley Hofferson." He said, briefly as if he was still not happy of what she has done. 

Ashley took a deep breath, "Look, Hayden, I'm so sorry that I put you in the hospital , putting misery to you and Rachel Thorston. 

It's my mistake and I should've thought of the consequences of my actions. I didn't mean any harm."

That took the boy in total shock and surprise. Ashley Hofferson, the former Cheerleader, is making a apology, and seeking redemption?

"You honestly think you would bump into me, and try to make up for the mistakes that you caused to me and Rachel?

You basically turned our lives around! You made me into an amputee, and I lost my leg! You caused pain to Rachel, she was scared for three months, not knowing if I would wake up from my coma!

How could you possibly-"

"My father abused me, Hayden!  That's why I created the car accident in the first place, so I can ease the pain I've gotten."  

Hayden was in total shock as the realization kicks in. Ashley wasn't a bully , but a victim, just like he is. 

Ashley couldn't hold her emotions any longer as she cries into Hayden's arms, like a sister. 

Hayden didn't know what to do, but he knew that Ashley could've gotten help, look for a school consoler about her life at home.

"Ashley, show me." Hayden said, in a serious tone as Ashley removes the sleeves to show the marks she has received from her father.  

Hayden looks shocked of seeing the scars, as he felt guilt, as if the emotions he had against her had faded away. 

Ashley rolled the sleeves up, to cover the marks, as Hayden said, "Ashley, you can't hide this from everyone. Eventually someone would tell the school sooner than you think." 

Ashley said, "I'm not so sure if I can handle the truth come out, Hayden. It's kind of personal." 

"That didn't stop you when you made Rachel miserable. I think it's best that you talk to her.  You guys can be friends." Hayden points out, which causes Ashley to blink of his words, but she understood of what he meant.

"Well, I have to make it up to the both of you .  I know!  I'll make a spring prom at school! A waltz, and you guys can dance to it." 

"A spring Prom? I..." Hayden said, blushing, 

"Hayden, it's my way of showing Rachel that I had changed, for the horrible things I've done to her, and you were making plans for your first official date, weren't you?" Ashley said, grinning smoothly as the young amputee was rubbing his head in total embarrassment. 

"And don't worry, no embarrassing or teasing  from me, and I'll ask Tim and Scott to spread the word and help pitch in for the school Spring prom." Ashley reassures the teen.

 Hayden begins to smile at her, as he can see that Ashley is trying her best to reform her personality from a bully to a friend in need. 

"Thanks, Ashley. It really meant a lot to me to finally get happiness. And if you have any bruises that is too serious, then you have me to back you up." 

 Ashley said, "You're welcome, Hayden. Tim was right, once I told you what's going on in my life, you really know what to do." 

As Ashley walks home from experiencing what has happen, someone was keeping a close eye on her. 

In the shadows, was Tim Thornton.
