Chapter 9

The next day, Akina was peacefully sitting in the classroom having just finished lunch.

So next we have Hero basic training. I wonder how that'll be. Akina thought, tapping her fingers on her desk. She hoped it would be something fun and in the field instead of the type of class work they had been doing all day.

"Here I am! Coming through the door like a normal person!" Someone shouted entering through the doorway and strutting towards the front of the room.

That was anything but normal. Akina thought, watching All Might.

"Welcome to the most important class of U.A High! Think of it as Hero 101! Here you will learn the basics of being a pro! And what it means to fight in the name of good! Let's get into it!" All Might pulled out a card that read Battle in bold red letters.

Fight training? Oh, this will be fun! Akina thought, a small smile on her face.

"But one of the keys of being a hero is," he pointed towards the wall where compartments were sliding out of them, "Looking good! These were designed for you based on your quirk registration forms and the requests you sent in before school started."

The class cheered with excitement, and Akina had to admit, she was excited as well to get into the costume she designed.

"Get yourselves suited up, and head to training ground beta!"

"Yes sir!" Everyone shouted.

In the changing room, Akina started to change out of her uniform into her hero costume. She had decided to make it similar to what she would usually of worn when going on jobs— except flashing it up a bit. It consisted of mainly two different parts. A white underdress with a puffy skirt like bottom with a green corset top and leaf-like skirt cover laying on the sides of her skirt peacefully. Though of course, a costume isn't a costume without some accessories, with her costume she had a belt with her guild mark in the middle in a shiny gold, as well as a leaf hair pin that pinned back her bangs on the right side of her head.

"Hey Akina, is that a tattoo?" Someone asked, and Akina looked to her side to see a floating pair of gloves, one pointing towards her guild mark on her shoulder.

"I guess it is, in a way." Akina answered, gently placing a few fingers over it with a smile on her face. "It's not really a tattoo, it's more of... my families crest."

"Woah! That's so cool! Is your family some type of big shot or something?" Hagakure asked, the floating gloves punching the air.

Thinking for a second, Akina nodded. "You could say that." Though it's not really for a good reason. We're kind of known as the guild with the most destructive power... keyword destructive. "Anyways, that's a interesting costume... are you, uh, wearing anything other than—?"

"Nope!" She interrupted and with that, the pair of gloves and shoes disappeared through the doorway.

"Aki! Looking good!" Mina exclaimed, and Akina turned around to see her standing proudly in her hero costume.

"You too Mina." Akina said, "Your costume looks just how you wanted it."

"Yours too! Now, I don't want to waste any more time! Battle Training is waiting for us!"

The two of them hurried out of the changing room, running down the hallway and soon arriving where some of the class was already waiting in front of Training ground beta.

It wasn't too long until everyone had gathered, excitement buzzing in the air.

"They say the clothes make the man, young men and ladies. Be fully aware, from now on... you are heroes!" All Might exclaimed after looking everyone over. "That's great, everyone! You all look so cool! Now, shall we begin, you newbies?"

"Sir!" Someone in a suit of armor— Iida— said, raising his hand. "This is a battle center from the entrance exam, so will we be conducting urban battles again?"

All Might shook his head slightly, and held up two fingers towards the group of students. "No, we're gong to move ahead two steps! Most of the time, fighting villains takes place outside, but if you look at the total numbers, atrocious villains appear indoors at a higher rate. Imprisonment, house arrest, backroom deals. In this society filled with heroes, truely intelligent villains hide in the shadows!"

Akina looked at the ground with a solemn expression. She knew that truth all too well. Phantom Lord's attack in the night when everyone was gone, the multitude of jobs she's gone on against dark wizards and being ambushed when investigating a house or cave. Shaking her head clear of the thoughts, she looked forward to All Might, listening as he continued.

"For this class, you'll be split into villains and heroes and fight 2-on-2 indoor battles."

"Without basic training?" Tsuyu asked, tilting her head in slight confusion.

"This is a real battle to understand those basics! However, the key this time is that there's no robot you can just beat up." All Might answered.

Suddenly, everyone was asking All Might a question, before All Might shushed them.

"Hold on! I'll answer all your questions in due time." Taking out a few notecards, he unfolded them and started to read off them— much to Akina's amusement. "The situation is that the villains have hidden a nuclear weapon somewhere in their hideout. The heroes are trying to dispose of that, they need to catch the villains or get to the nuclear weapon back before time runs out. The villains need to protect the nuclear weapons for the whole time or catch the heroes."

Sounds kind of like a normal job to me. Akina thought with her finger to her chin. Catch the villian or dismantle whatever the villains have planned.

"Teams and opponents will be determined by drawing lots!" All Might continued, holding a box up in front of him.

"They're being decided so haphazardly?" Iida asked.

"But think about it." Akina piped up from behind the suited up teen. "In sudden attacks from villains, you have to team up with anybody you can—you can't be picky with who you're paired up with because if you'd pend too much time on trivial things like that, people might end up dying because you took too long. As well as that, heroes have to learn how to adjust to circumstances." Just like how FairyTail has to team up with Sabertooth, Lamia Scale, or Blue Pegasus on a moment's notice.

Kids around her seemed surprised at what she had just said.

"You already sound like a hero, Hayashima." Uraraka complimented, a bright smile on her face.

"Oh, really? Thanks." Akina said, flattered by the compliment.

"I see. So even this is part of training." Iida muttered, mostly to himself, then bowed towards All Might, "Please excuse my rudeness!"

"It's fine! Let's do this quickly!" All Might said, before holding the box out for kids to pick lots.

Grabbing her slip of paper, Akina looked over to who else had picked it. A boy with red and white hair and a scar over his left eye. Walking over to him, she reached her hand out in greeting. "Hayashima Akina. You're Todoroki Shoto correct?"

The boy glanced at her hand before giving her a small nod. "Yeah." He said.

So cold. Akina thought. Well, anyways, that's fine I guess, it's not my first time working with a person like this.

After All Might pulled lots from two boxes— on marked 'Villain' and the other marked 'Hero'. Holding up two balls, he showed them to the class. "The first teams to be fightning will be— these guys!" He said, showing a ball with the letter D and another one with the letter A. "Team A will be the heroes, and Team D will be the villains."

Glancing over shoulder to see who was on both of those teams, Akina placed her fingertips together. Those two are against each other. She thought, seeing Bakugo glare and Midoriya. I never thought I'd have to say this so soon, but I hope to Mavis that nobody dies today.

Below is Akina's Hero costume! Well, a sketch of her costume, I wasn't able to draw her full body. (And ignore the outfit on the left, that was the first idea, the one with all the writing around it is her actual costume)
