"42 of you have qualified to move onto the next round. You'd all better prepare yourselves for the next test!" Midnight announced, once again in front of the spinning wheel.

It didn't take long before it stopped, the bold words 'Cavalry Battle' showing clearly on the screen.

"Those of you at the top will suffer the most. Of course that's something you'll hear over and over again at U.A. Show us what Plus Ultra means!" She pointed her whip towards Midoriya, a smile plain on her face. "Midoriya Izuku placed first in the qualifier. He'll be worth ten million!"

All of a sudden everyone's looks turned malicious, Akina just looked at the boy with a smile. So in other words. You get his points, and you're a sure win. She thought, her eyes narrowing as she started to think of a plan.

"First Years!" Midnight shouted, getting the glaring student's attention off of Midoriya and back onto her. "These are the rules to abide by. The game itself will last fifteen minutes, individual point values will be added together to reach your teams total. Everybody will know how much you're worth thanks to your headbands. Swipe as many headbands as you can to raise your team's score. Stolen headbands must be worn from the neck up, so the more you steal, the harder it will be to manage. And even if your headband gets stolen, you can keep playing until times up!"

Around her, Akina listened to the chatter from the other students. Most of them already strategizing.

"This is going to be rough, and you can use your quirks as much as you like, but, there are still rules. Make a team fall on purpose and I will slap you with a red card, you will be disqualified!"

With those words, a fifteen minute timer appeared on the screen, signaling that the countdown to make teams was starting.

Placing a hand to her chin in thought, Akina looked around at her options, discreetly sniffing the air and trying to figure out their quirks. Watching everyone team up, Akina noticed Ibara talking with some other class 1-B students. Thinking she could join their team, Akina shook her head. She barely knew Ibara, and besides that fact, class 1-B hated her class, which included her. A sudden tap on her shoulder made Akina turn around, her green eyes meeting angry red ones.

"Hey, Red-head. You're strong right? Why don't you join my team?" Bakugo asked.

Looking at the two behind him, Akina made eye contact with a smiling Mina and a determined Kirishima. "Looks like you racked up some decent teammates. Ah, why the hell not. I bet teaming with you will be fun."

Bakugo grinned. "Good choice. I'd hate to see you pair up with any of those other losers. Now, I'm going to be the horse, you three will make sure that nobody gets my headband, got it?"

"Whatever you say blondie." Akina said.

"Awesome! This is gonna be fun!" Mina exclaimed, jumping up and down.

"We're totally going to own the competition." Kirishima said, hardening his arm and giving a toothy grin.

"Aw man, I'm all fired up!" Akina exclaimed. "Let's get us some headbands!"

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

By the time the buzzer sounded, everybody had created their teams, and as Present Mic was taking, Bakugo's group got into position.

Bakugo was going to be the rider, while Kaminari was in front— being able to take Bakugo's explosions. Mina and Akina were in the back, both tasked with moving them quickly and defending the headband Bakugo had wrapped around his forehead.

"All right, you extras better not ruin this for me." Bakugo said, tiny explosions erupting out of his hand.

"Same goes for you." Akina said, a grin appearing on her face.

"Let's get this party started! One final countdown before the game starts! Three—" Present Mic started.

"Let's get em'." Bakugo said.

"Two, one!"

"Begin!" Midnight announced, and at the word, everyone was off.

Already it was easy to see that almost everyone was going for the high amount of points that Midoriya held, including the team Akina was on. Just as Midoriya rose up into the sky for the second time to avoid oncoming attacks, smoke suddenly filled Akina's nose and she sneezed, watching as Bakugo flew high into the sky in hot pursuit of Midoriya. The blond aimed an explosion towards the team as a distraction, only to be interrupted by a wall of shadow.

Seeing that he lost his momentum, Akina summoned a vine and wrapped it around his waist, bringing him back to her, Mina and Kirishima.

"Bakugo just flew up into the sky to get to Midoriya! Is that even allowed?" Present Mic asked.

"He never touched the ground, so technically it's okay." Midnight shouted.

"Warn us the next time you do that, 'Kay?" Akina asked, "I'd like to prepare myself before I get a mouthful of smoke."

"Whatever." Bakugo scoffed as he took his place as the rider once again before the group started to move around again.

"It's been seven minutes, so let's look at the scores!" Present Mic shouted, and as the new scores went up, a surprised gasp went though the stadium.

Glancing at the board, her eyes widened, other than Midoriya, her class wasn't doing too well. Looking back at Bakugo, so noticed that someone had just slipped the headband off of his forehead.

"Your class is too small minded, think bigger." The attacker said, a cocky tone in his voice.

"What'd you say? Come back here!" Bakugo shouted, provoked by the other teen.

"Midnight said that the obstacle course was only the first game. And they wouldn't cut that many of us off the bat. Would they?" The blond monologued, reminding Akina of a few low-tier bad guys she's encounter. "As we went through the course, we could easily judge your abilities. Only a fool would obsess over winning the preliminary rounds. Wouldn't you agree."

Clearly provoked by the teens provoking, a deadly Aura surrounded Bakugo and even Akina felt unnerved by the amount of malice that was radiating off of him.

"Before we get Deku, we're going to kill every last one of these B-list idiots." Bakugo seethed.

"His scent." Akina murmered, getting Mina's attention.

"Scent? What are you talking about red-head?" Bakugo growled.

"It's taking the form of all the scents around him from everyone else." Sniffing the air and looking right at the boy, Akina grinned. "His quirk has something to do with Copying others, isn't that right?"

Ever so slightly, the boy's composure broke, but he quickly recovered. "You have some crazy enhanced smell quirk? What an interesting pair with those vines of yours. Man, to have those combination of quirks your family must be kinda weak."

Those words struck a nerve in Akina, sure, she knew he was just trying to provoke her, but he somehow said just the right words, and her aura rose up, radiating the same amount of anger and malice as Bakugo.

"Uh, Aki?" Mina asked, looking at the girl with a slightly terrified expression on her face.

"We're beating down these assholes." Akina seethed. "Let's go!"

The group moved forwards towards the boy who provoked them, Monoma, as she heard from one of his teammates.

"You think you're tough?" Bakugo challenged, before aiming an explosion right at Monoma's head. Akina watched as he dodged the attack though not before making contact with Bakugo's skin and his scent merging with Bakugo's causing Akina to suspect that he somehow copied Bakugo's quirk. It didn't take long for her suspicions to be confirmed, due to an explosion being set off right in Bakugo's face.

"Heh. Wow, I see why you like this quirk." Monoma said as his scent changed to be more like Kirishima's.

"Bakugo, wait!" Akina said as the boy started to aim another explosion at Monoma. "He's copied Kiri's quirk."

"What? How can you tell that?" Kirishima asked.

"His scent." She said simply, before she threw her hand forwards and summoned vines to wrap around Monoma's arm, watching it harden to look similar to Kirishima when his quirk was activated. A new scent suddenly filled her nose and she snapped her head to the side, summoning vines up from the ground to form a wall as liquid cement was shot towards them, effectively protecting them from the attack. Feeling a toothy grin make it's way to her face, she looked between the two class 1-B teams. "You really think you'd get the slip on me? My nose can sniff out any upcoming attackers, and you reek of cement."

"Good going Akina! If you hadn't made that wall when you did, I would of been cemented to the ground!" Kirishima said, glancing back at the fiery haired girl.

"No problem!"

"Less chatter and more getting our points back!" Bakugo shouted.

"Right!" Mina, Kirishima, and Akina shouted, moving to chase after Monoma who had used the cement distraction to run away.

Giving chase after the provoking teen, the distance between them started to close up. Glancing at the clock ticking time, Akina noticed that they had less than a minute left. Gritting her teeth and forming a quick plan in her head, she looked forwards towards Monoma who was sticking his tongue out at the group, provoking them all even further.

"Hey, looser!" Bakugo shouted, jumping up again and propelling himself towards Monoma's team with explosions, he landed on a solid wall of air, punching through it just as Monoma's team started moving away and grabbing a few of the headbands.

Summoning a vine, Akina brought Bakugo back to their team, making sure he didn't make contact with the ground.

"Woah woah! Team Bakugo managed to snatch some headbands and shoot up to third place! The final moments of the game have been full of shape ups!" Present Mic announced.

"A warning would of been nice you know, Flame-breath!" Akina shouted, forgetting for a moment that she wasn't talking to Natsu, only remembering when she earned herself a glare from Bakugo.

"Whatever, this means we're advancing!" Kirishima exclaimed.

"We're not done!" Bakugo shouted, "We're going to be the indisputable champions of the game!"

"Now look at this." Aizawa's voice said, echoing around the stadium. "Class 1-B's strategy was effective, but they overlooked one thing."

"We need to get closer! Red-head, Make some vines!" Bakugo commanded.

Akina nodded and summoned two vines from the ground, shooting them forwards and past Monoma's team.

"Raccoon eyes! Make put some acid in front of us!"

"It's Ashido Mina!" Mina exclaimed, shooting Acid right in front of the group. With the combination of the vines Akina was using to propel them forwards, and the slick acid Mina made on the ground, the group slid forwards, quickly closing the gap between the two teams.

As the group got closer, the guy in front blew a wall of air to protect them, Bakugo punching right through it and grabbing the remaining headband that Monoma had around his neck.

"What a shocker! Team Bakugo's shield-breaking strength has placed their team in second place! I can't wait to watch the replay!" Present Mic shouted.

"Now." Bakugo seethed, making the group turn towards a wall of ice. "We're going after Deku!"

"The game is almost over! Time for a countdown!" Present Mic shouted, and Akina looked towards the screen, seeing the numbers count down from ten. She knew they wouldn't make it to Midoriya in time, but Bakugo seemed to believe they would. Once again getting a face full of smoke, Akina watched as the blond flew over the wall of ice that Tdoroki had made a it earlier in the game, propelling himself once again with his explosions.

"Times up!" Present Mic shouted, causing what would be a tense moment to defuse into nothing, Todoroki's group in front that was facing off with Midoriya's group froze, and Bakugo seemed to freeze almost comedically in mid air, falling straight towards the ground. "And with that, the second round is officially over."

Joined with Mina and Kirishima, Akina ran up to where Bakugo had face planted onto the ground.

"Bakugo! Are you okay man?" Kirishima asked.

The blond's only response was a wordless shout of anger, causing Akina to let out a small laugh. "Well, we still managed to pass onto the next round." She said, moving her attention to the scoreboard as Present Mic started to announce who moved on.

"And now, let's look at the line up! In first place Team Todoroki! Second place— Team Bakugo!"

"Ahh, we were so close to first place!" Mina complained and Akina placed a comforting hand on her friend's shoulder.

"Yeah, but we still move on. We'll still be able to show off our power." She said, a wide grin on her face. "Though Bakugo might have other thoughts." She looked towards the blond who was screaming and shaking in rage.

The other teams that moved on consisted of Team Shinsou, and surprisingly, Team Midoriya. It seemed as if Tokoyami had stolen a headband in the last few seconds of the match.

As Present Mic mentioned a break for lunch, Akina head her stomach rumble and she let out a small groan. "Damn am I hungry. Let's grab some grub! I wanna be at my full strength for the upcoming events!" With that, Akina headed out of the stadium behind Mina and Kaminari, the three of them excitedly chatting with each other.

"After the recreational games we'll be having the one on one battles, right?" Akina asked

"Yep! Oh it's going to be so fun!" Mina exclaimed, fist pumping.

"Then I plan on going all out." Akina said, punching her fist into the palm of her hand. "First place is mine!"
