「 Now, let's get started right away. 」 Midnight said, explaining what will be going on to the students and audience, 「 The first game is what you'd call a qualifier! 」

「 Every year, many drink their tears here! 」 The pro hero exclaimed, pointing to the holographic screen with her flogger-style whip, 「 Now, here is the faithful first game! 」

Everyone watched in anticipation, the audience at the edge of their seats as the students stared at the screen. The screen flickers through all of the games until it stops on . . . 「 This year, it's... this! 」

「 An obstacle course race. 」 Izuku muttered as soon as the game was selected.

「 All 11 classes will be participating in this race. 」Midnight explained, the screen showing the course the students will have to run. 「 The course will be the outer circumference of this stadium—about four kilometers! 」

Licking her lips, Midnight smirked as she stated, 「 our school's selling point is freedom! 」 A sadistic expression forms on her face as she looks at the students, 「 As long as you stay on the course, it doesn't matter what you do! 」 she exclaimed.

「 Now, take your places everyone! 」

The students all made their way to the starting line. Most crowded the front and as he searched for a suitable starting position, Izuku noticed BoBoiBoy stayed at the very back. Before Izuku could tell him to move closer to the front, the brunet noticed his stare and shook his head.

「 Don't worry about me! 」 BoBoiBoy assured the greenet with a smile, before his face shifted to a serious look, 「 I want to be at the back. 」

Izuku simply nodded, understanding that the brunet had a plan. All the students stood in their places, readily awaiting for the chief umpire's mark.

"Start!" Midnight shouted.

In an instant, everyone ran into a sprint. All the while, BoBoiBoy stood still, letting them go ahead. As he waits for the chaos to ensue, the brunet listens to Present Mic's commentary.

「 Okay, here's the play-by-play! 」 The Voice Hero exclaimed, pointing a question to his commentary buddy. 「 Are you ready to do the commentary, Mummy Man? 」

「 You're the one who forced me to come. 」 Eraser Head flatly responded back to the rhetorical query, his response making the brunet chuckle.

「 Let's get started right away, Mummy Man. 」 Present Mic said, getting into the narration of the game, 「 What should we pay attention to in the early stages? 」 He inquired the other.

「 This part right now. 」 stated Eraser Head.

Meanwhile, in the midst of the race, everyone seemed to be stuck in the tunnel cramped up in the narrow halls. Students pushed and shoved, a chaotic mess leaving everyone stagnant. That is until a cold breeze engulfs the air.

「 Sorry, but... 」 Todoroki muttered, his steps leaving an icy trail, as he froze the entire tunnel and any unfortunate student that got caught up in it.

Unexpectedly for the heterochromic teen, some students still managed to avoid his attack. Momo kept one palm facing down as she created a pole to excell her up.

「 Naive, Todoroki-san! 」 The noirette exclaimed as Bakugou could be seen flying off using his explosion, 「 I won't let you get away so easily! You half-n-half bastard! 」 The spiky blond yelled angrily.

All of Class 1-A managed to avoid the heterochromic teen's attack with Aoyama flying using his laser and Kirishima managed to dodge his attack by jumping.

「 You got me with that once. You won't get me again! 」 Ojiro exclaimed, dodging the ice by using his tail to jump upwards.

Mina can be seen using her acid as soon as she landed, practically making the icy ground a skating rink, 「 Woah, that was close! 」

Some used their Quirks, some didn't. 「 I can't use my special move yet... 」 Ochako said, carefully treading the icy ground.

Class 1-A isn't the only one who was able to dodge the heterochromic teen's attack, a few from other classes managed to avoid the attack. Among them was the indigo-haired guy who declared war on Class 1-A.

「 They're used to using their Quirks, huh... 」 He muttered as the students carrying him slowly made their way forward.

The indigo-haired guy's ears then pick up a voice from the distance. He looked over his shoulder, seeing something at the end of the tunnel fast approaching. As it comes closer and closer, the air starts to whoosh towards it.

【 Coming through~! 】 A voice shouts in a language he doesn't understand but before he could wonder who the said person flew straight past him.

In first place, Todoroki is surprised to see those who managed to avoid his attack. 「 More people outside of Class A were able to dodge that than I expected... 」 The heterochromic teen mumbles.

Then he saw him. BoBoiBoy catching up to him, fast. He was so focused on the approaching brunet that he didn't even notice Mineta until he was in the air.

「 I've outwitted you, Todoroki! How pathetic! 」 The purple-haired boy exclaimed as he pulled balls out of his hair, 「 Take this! My special attack! Grap-- 」 But he was immediately cut off when something smacked him across the face.

The purple-haired boy is about to faceplant on the ground when a blue blur flies in and catches him. When he comes to, Mineta sees that it was BoBoiBoy in his Wind form who had saved him from falling.

「 Thanks BoBoi-- AH! 」 Mineta thanked the brunet, only to be suddenly dropped. The purple-haired boy was ready to yell at the brunet when he saw what he was staring at.

「 Targets found. 」 A three-point robot from the entrance exam said, before getting ready into its battle stance. 「 Lots!! 」

「 The faux villains from the entrance exam? 」 Izuku could be heard muttering, staring up at the hoard of robots blocking their path.

「 Obstacles have shown up suddenly! 」 Present Mic narrated, exclaiming loudly to the audience, 「 Starting with... the first barrier! Robo Inferno! 」

Kaminari stared up at the looming humongous zero-point robot, 「 Aren't those the zero-point villains from the entrance exam? 」 The blond remarked anxiously.

Upon hearing that, the other students start to panic, wondering how in the world UA allowed this or how the hero students managed to survive them.

「 So this is what they used in the general entrance exam? 」 Todoroki said blankly, the sight of the faux villains never breaking his calm composure.

「 I wonder where they got the money for it? 」 Momo questioned softly, with the amount of damage the students are bound to inflict on these robots, she wonders how UA got the money to sustain themselves from bankruptcy.

「 If they went through all this trouble, I wish they would've prepared something better, 」 Todoroki muttered, reaching down towards ground with his right hand, 「 since my stupid old man is watching. 」

Ice forms underneath him, and with a swing of his arm, he sends a powerful blast of ice at the enormous zero-point robot. The robot's arm that was reaching out to him froze solid, the frost spreading throughout as Todoroki breathed out a chilled sigh.

The heterochromic teen quickly starts running forward, leaving the stunned students behind, as hears some students shout amongst each other

「 He stopped them! 」 Someone yelled.

「 Between their legs! We can get through! 」 Someone else pointed out.

「 I wouldn't if I were you. 」 Todoroki warned, never halting his pace, 「 I froze them when they were unbalanced. 」

Then, the robot began to lean forward, the ice breaking as the robot started to fall. The panicked screams and yells of the other students muffled in the background, Angin stared at the falling robot, everything seemingly in slow motion.

He never doubted the heterochromic teen's abilities but seeing it in full action was incredible. Todoroki was smart, attacking and defending using just one attack, and continued on without a break in his step. But the brunet's ears rang at what he had heard.

Endeavor was here.

And he was watching.

His hands clenched into fists as he stared at the heterochromic teen's back then back at the falling robot. Bringing himself back to the present, everything starts to move normally. And as the robot is about to hit the ground, the brunet dashes forward, a bright light engulfing him as sparks trails behind him.

【 Elemental Power! BoBoiBoy Petir! 】

【 LIGHTNING BLADE SLASH! 】

In a flash, Petir slashed the falling robot repeatedly, successfully stopping it from trampling a few students. The students watched in shock as the brunet, whose gym attire changed from blue to yellow and the reds turned black, effortlessly took down the robot. Even Todoroki looked behind him for a moment before hurriedly forward.

「 Todoroki from Class 1-A! 」 Present Mic narrated, 「 he attacked and defended in one hit! How elegant! 」

「 However, BoBoiBoy from Class 1-A gracefully defeated the gigantic robot with ease! 」 The pro hero exclaimed as the cheers and shouts from the stadium could still be heard from outside.

Training with Izuku had really paid off, he had used his second tier before against them but now they were easy targets.

「 As expected of someone who got in through recommendations, and UA's first foriegn exchange student! 」

Petir was getting ready to catch up with Todoroki when the smaller robots started attacking him. He clicked his tongue, annoyed but didn't run away. He didn't want to fight the heterochromic teen head on just yet. So for now . . . he's just gonna help out his peers a bit.

In one fell swoop, he slashes at several robots, leaving a path for the other students. His peers noticed this and one of them, a black-haired student, shouts out to the others.

「 Anyway, let's work together for now to clear a path! 」 The black-haired guy said, his arm transforming into green reptile-like skin.

Then, an explosion set off as a certain spiky blond flies up the towering zero-point robot with his Quirk. Students watch as he dodges the robot's attempt to attack him with a punch, the spiky blond flying over the robot.

「 Class 1-A's Bakugou! Since the bottom's blocked, he goes overhead! 」 Present Mic exclaimed, 「 Clever! 」

The spiky blond lands atop the robot for a moment, turning his head over his shoulder to find Sero also climbing over using his tape.

「 You seem like you'd be the type to plow straight through but you can go around when you need to, huh? 」 Sero remarked with a playful smirk as another person joined the fray.

Tokoyami, with Dark Shadow, has also decided to go overhead. 「 I'm going to hitch a ride! 」 The raven head said.

Soon, Bakugou jumps down with Sero and Tokoyami close behind.

Cheers from the stadium loudened as they watched the events happen on screen. From the teachers stand, Snipe comments on the happenings, 「 As expected, most of the group that's gone ahead is from Class A. 」

「 Class B and the other courses aren't bad, either! 」 Toshinori muttered softly, his eyes trained at the screen, 「 It's just... 」

「 ...Class A doesn't spend a lot of time standing around. 」 Eraser Head remarked as students from his class moved forward bravely.

Iida could be seen speeding towards a robot and jumping to kick it, knocking the robot over. Jirou uses her Quirk to attach it onto two robots, channeling violent vibrations causing the robots to spark and malfunction.

「 Those who experience first hand that world above them through the incident at USJ... 」

Kaminari is seen dodging a robot's attempt to attack him, jumping up and landing atop the robot's arm, and sending a shock of electricity. Kirishima is easily destroying the attacking robots in his way, using his hardening Quirk to block and attack.

「 Those who had fear planted in their hearts... 」

Uraraka mutters a soft release, running past the falling robots she used her Quirk on. Ojiro expertly weaves himself above a robot, his tail crashing the robot's face, destroying it.

「 Those who dealt with it and pulled through... They all used that experience to drown out their hesitation. 」 Eraser Head stated, knowingly watching his students run towards their goals.

Meanwhile, Izuku is running, a robot in his way. 「 I can't rely on One For All this early in the competition! 」 Izuku thought to himself.

He didn't want to show everyone his newfound technique and control on his Quirk. Right now, he just needs to make it through the second round. It didn't matter if he was first or not, he'll make up for it in the next game.

Jumping sideways, Izuku narrowly dodges the robot's attack on him, his eyes spotting something on the ground. 「 It's the armor of one Todoroki-kun and BoBoiBoy defeated! 」

Izuku swiftly picks up the hunk of metal, never stopping his running as the greenet hears the robot targeting him. 「 That robot will lock onto the target and track it. 」

「 I'll make it build up momentum... And then-- 」

Once the robot was at an appropriate distance, Izuku then suddenly turned around. And with the metal in his arms, 「 It won't be able to stop suddenly! 」 he sliced off the incoming robot's arm right off.

「 Move! Move! 」 Izuku yelled in his head, pushing his feet to move as he continued to run forward. 「 This can be a shield, too! It'll be useful! 」 He glanced at the hunk of metal, knowing it would slow him down but he'll take that chance.

Soon, Izuku catches up to some of the students, several zero-point robots blocking their path until they are suddenly shot down with a boom. Izuki turns his head and sees that it was Yaoyorozu's doing.

「 A piece of cake. 」 The noirette said, leaving her cannon behind as she continued to run.

All the students start to run as well. Izuku scanning the fallen robots in amazement, 「 She defeated those zero-point villains so easily? 」 Izuku muttered, 「 no wonder she got through recommendations. 」

Before the students could escape the first barrier, three zero-point robots managed to keep away from the Yaoyorozu's attack, now blocking the path again. Yaoyorozu was ready to create another cannon when she noticed someone with her previous cannon.

「 Be careful! 」 She warned the person, but it was too late. The student accidentally shoots it at the zero-point robots, hitting the robot at the back and causing it to fall forward, trampling the other two robots.

The students would have rejoiced had it not been for the fact that the enormous robots were currently falling over them. Screams of panic echoed as the students tried to run away, Izuku was caught in the midst of all of it. He ran away but knew he wasn't gonna make it, he debated on whether to use his Quirk but then a flash of yellow zipped past him.

【 Elemental Power! BoBoiBoy Tanah! 】

【 EARTH PILLAR! 】

Izuku stares in shock as BoBoiBoy, or Tanah, stands in front of him, the brunet's hands placed on the ground. The greenet's eyes trailed up to the fallen robots that were held up by the pillars, then back to the brunet whose gym attire changed again from Petir's yellow color scheme to Tanah's brown one.

Tanah looks over his shoulder to the shocked students, 「 Go! I don't know how long I can hold this for! 」 he yelled as the students finally shook off their initial shock and start running for it.

As the others run off, not even thanking the brunet, Izuku and Yaoyorozu are hesitant to leave their friend behind. But Tanah simply gives them a smile, reassuring them, 「 Don't worry about me! I'll catch up. 」 The two nodded, not particularly wanting to leave the brunet, but agreed that the brunet is perfectly capable on his own.

As they leave alongside the other students, one person trails behind and uses their Quirk on one of Tanah's pillars. The earth element notices this and watches in horror as the pillar crumbles and breaks, causing the rest of the pillars to fall as well. Izuku and Yaoyorozu look on as their friend gets buried in the metals.

The two ran back towards him, some stunned students stood still. Before they could get any closer, however, the ground began to tremble. Everyone starts to panic and worry again.

Was an earthquake occuring right now? Many questioned but Izuku and Yaoyorozu, relief washing over them, recognized that it was their brunet friend's doing.

Suddenly the ground in front of Izuku and Yaoyorozu broke open, a familiar capped brunet jumping up from it. Turning to the people behind them, Tanah stares down the student who crumbled his pillar down. The look he gave the person sent shivers down everyone's back.

Slamming his fist onto the ground, Tanah shouted out, 【 EARTH WALL! 】 he repeatedly punched the ground, several walls of rocks emerging from the ground and trapping some students behind.

「 All is fair, right? 」 Tanah said, taking the bill of his cap and positioning it forward, then in an instant, he transforms back to Petir. 「 Guess I won't need to worry about everyone else then. 」

Izuku blinked, shocked but not at all surprised. Thinking he'd be an easy competition to get rid of, one person took Tanah's help for granted, and used it against the brunet. But BoBoiBoy wasn't going to go down that easily, and as a result that person made it harder for himself and a few other unfortunate students.

Turning to Izuku and Yaoyorozu, Petir acknowledged them with a nod. 「 See you in the finishing lines. 」 The lighting element said before disappearing in a flash of lighting.

Izuku and Yaoyorozu looked at each other for a moment before they, along with the other students, started running again. They need to catch up too.

「 Hey, hey! The first barrier's a piece of cake? 」 Present Mic exclaimed in a sing-song tone, 「 Then what about the second? 」

Uraraka, Ashido, and Asui stared at the humongous pit, the bottom pitch dark. 「 If you fall, you're out! 」 Present Mic explained, 「 If you don't wanna fall, then crawl! It's "The Fall!" 」

Uraraka backs away from the edge, wondering how in the world they created this. 「 When did they build this stage? 」 She questioned, exasperated.

Undeterred, Asui walks closer to the edge, earning curious glances from her two friends. 「 Tsu-chan? 」 Mina called out to their friend, gasping loudly when the frog girl jumped onto the rope.

「 Kero! This is like a glorified tightrope. 」 Asui said, crawling at a more rapid speed than most, shocking the two girls still at the start. 「 She's fast! 」 Ashido remarked before her and Uraraka's attention shift to the laughter coming from behind them.

「 Glitter. 」 A pinkette said, her equipment glimmering in the sunlight, 「 Here it is! Here's my chance to show off! 」

「 It's time for my support items to be in the limelight! 」 Hatsume exclaimed as people stared at her, 「 Look, all you support companies across the country! 」

「 Wire arrows and... hover soles! Glitter! 」 She said, laughing and smiling.

「 You're from the support course? 」 Uraraka assumes while Ashido points at the pinkette's equipment, questioning the usage of such items,「 What? It's okay to bring in items? 」

「 The hero course undergoes combat training regularly, right? 」 Hatsume reminded, 「 in order to keep things fair, we are allowed to equip items and costumes, as long as we developed them ourselves! 」

「 Or perhaps I should say... 」 Hatsume then stretches her arms out, a wire shooting from her equipment as it stuck to one of the pillar platforms. 「 ...for those of us in the support course, this is the place where we can show off our ideas and skills to companies! 」 She exclaimed, laughing maniacally as her hover boots activated and she propells herself forward.

「 Come, take a look, all you companies! Especially the big ones! 」 She jumps and starts falling but then presses a button that starts reeling her in. 「 Look at my super cute babies! 」 She exclaimed loudly as she hovered sideways onto the pillar, boosting herself upwards to the sky. Her laughter echoes as she lands atop one of the pillar platforms.

Uraraka watched in awe, mumbling an amazed exclamation, before frowning. 「 That's so annoying... 」 She thought to herself as she began to run forward.

「 I can't lose! 」 She exclaimed as Ashido starts running again too, 「 That's some misplaced equality! 」

Soon, others start running to, and amongst them was the indigo-haired guy. 「 Nice... 」 He remarks, smirking menacingly.

「 A lot of different people are working hard for their chances, huh, Eraser Head? 」 Present Mic commented, glancing at his commentary buddy who is glaring at the screen, 「 What are you idiots stopping for? 」 Eraser Head muttered, annoyed.

Then, we switch onto Todoroki. Still in first, skating on the rope with one foot. Easily clearing the second obstacle with no interruptions. 「 And now, the leader of the pack is easily getting through first! 」 Present Mic announced.

Looking over his shoulder, Todoroki sees Bakugou on his tail, the blond using his explosion to fly over the entire second obstacle. 「 Looks like he's getting fired up. A slow starter? 」 The heterochromic teen thought to himself before looking forward.

Bakugou turns up his explosion power, propelling himself faster, 「 Damn it! 」 He cursed as he chased after Todoroki.

Iida sees his fellow classmates, feeling more and more determined. 「 My older brother is probably also watching. 」 He mutters, extending his arms sideways. 「 I can't let him see me act uncool! 」

Iida speeds forwards, balancing himself on the rope, looking quite comical. 「 That's so uncool! 」 Present Mic commented.

「 The lead pack is a step ahead, but below them, everyone's clumped together! 」 Present Mic continues to narrate.

Izuku could be seen crawling upside-down on the rope with the metal armor hanging from his back. In the sky, Shouji is there gliding over and Aoyama blasting himself over with his laser.

「 They haven't announced how many people will make it through, so you can't relax! Push forward! 」 Present Mic reminded as he then announced, 「 And now, we've quickly arrived at the final barrier! 」

「 The reality here is... that it's a minefield! 」Todoroki stares at the field of mines, carefully but swiftly making his way over each mine. 「 It's set up so that you can tell where the mines are if you look carefully! 」 Present Mic explained, 「 so you have to exploit your eyes and legs! 」

「 By the way, these landmines are for games, so they're not that powerful, but they're loud and flashy enough to make you wet your pants! 」 The pro hero reminded.

「 That depends on the person. 」 Eraser Head comments.

Shocked, Izuku quickly fastens his pace, 「 First place is already there? 」 He thought to himself, shouting at himself, 「 Faster... Faster...! 」

Meanwhile . . .

Mines set off one after another, screams and yells could be heard from behind. At the entrance of the field, Petir stared at the heterochromic teen's back then to the mines outlined into the ground. Sighing softly, Petir looks at his power watch. It glows a soft blue hue before it engulfs him in the light.

Concurrently, Todoroki, still up front, does his best to swiftly avoid the mines. 「 I see. This is an obstacle that puts those in the lead at a disadvantage. 」 Todoroki thought to himself as more and more mines started to explode, 「 Trying to make it entertaining, huh? 」

However, his thoughts were instantly interrupted by a loud explosion, the sound fast approaching him. Todoroki immediately looks over his shoulder, an angered Bakugou flying towards him at high speed. 「 This doesn't affect me! 」 The spiky blond shouted, passing the heterochromic teen who stepped sideways to avoid getting pummeled by the other.

「 Bastard, don't declare war on the wrong person! 」 Bakugou yelled, sending an explosion at Todoroki who promptly dodged it with ease.

「 And now, we've got someone new in the lead! 」 Present Mic announced, the crowd going wild and screaming their cheers, 「 Rejoice, mass media! It's the kind of development you guys love! 」

Then, Iida is seen trying to outspeed the mines but they proved to be the victor as the teen ultimately fails. Other students are also moving at their own pace, some using their Quirks, others not.

「 Hey, hey, hey, the rest of the pack is also speeding up! 」 Present Mic exclaimed, narrating everything that's going on, 「 However! Even as they push and pull at each other, can the two at the top remain in the lead? 」

Todoroki and Bakugou are in the lead. The spiky blond tries to send an explosion to the heterochromic teen but his hand is swiftly pushed away. Todoroki then counters by freezing the other's arm but Bakugou quickly shoves him away.

Preoccupied with their fight, the two don't notice the incoming brunet flying through. 「 Huh? What's this?! 」 Present Mic exclaimed, the two still oblivious until . . .

「 Why are you two fighting? 」

The two immediately turned their heads forward, shock on their faces as Angin, flying hanging upside in front of them, smirked mischievously. Holding his hands out at their faces, the wind element sends a powerful gust of wind at them.

【 WIND BLAST! 】 He shouted out, sending the two former first placers onto the ground and causing an explosion, as the brunet swiftly flipped himself upright and flew ahead.

「 Foriegn exchange student, BoBoiBoy, takes the lead! 」 Present Mic announced, the audience going wild at the advancement.

「 The two formerly in the lead have stopped trying to slow each other down and are chasing BoBoiBoy! 」 Present Mic narrated as Todoroki and Bakugou is seen recovering from the brunet's ambush and quickly catching up with him. 「 Now that they have a common enemy, they've stopped fighting! 」

「 The fight's not over yet, though! 」 Present Mic exclaimed.

「 What are you saying? 」 Eraser Head muttered flatly.

Flying with the use of his explosion, Bakugou is catching up. 「 Get back here, you two-faced bastard! 」 The spiky blond yelled angrily.

Covering the ground in ice, Todoroki runs swiftly towards the brunet. 「 This'll give those in the back a path... but I don't have time to worry about what's behind me! 」 The heterochromic teen muttered but he had other things to focus on.

The two soon catch up, both about to attack Angin at the same time when the brunet suddenly flies backwards, the element's offenders instead attack each other. Angin then promptly flies ahead of them as the two quickly recover themselves as they chase after the element.

Bakugou was getting more and more irate at the laughter that came from the brunet whilst Todoroki was getting more and more conflicted. The heterochromic teen didn't want to face the brunet this early in the game but he could falter here.

It's neck and neck.

A mine set here then there. It's at that moment Izuku finally made it the third and last obstacle. Even from the entrance of the minefield, Izuku could see the distance between him and the ones in the lead. 「 It... It's far...! 」

More explosions went off but Izuku stayed determined. 「 But there's still stuff I have to do! 」 He yelled as he lifted the metal armor hanging from his back and hit the ground, scooping the dirt swiftly but carefully.

His mind soon goes into full analytic mode. Recalling how Present Mic had said that the landmines are just for games, not powerful but a huge loss of time if set off. He couldn't take that risk with the injuries he might attain or his stamina's endurance, so going slow and avoiding them is the best course of action.

No one can be careless, and the further ahead you are, the more landmines you'll have to avoid.

「 Look carefully! 」 Izuku mentally told himself, continuing his digging diligently. 「 The places where those in front avoided... 」

「 Everyone was the most careful around the entrance. There are a lot of landmines left. 」

As Izuku mutters to himself, some students pass him, among them is Jirou who glances at him questioning, 「 what's Midoriya doing? 」 she wondered before continuing on.

「 It'll be fine! Don't be impatient here! 」 Izuku mumbles to himself.

「 In the lead is BoBoiBoy! With Todoroki and Bakugou close behind! 」 Present Mic announced, 「 They'll get through the last barrier soon! 」

「 All right! 」 Izuku exclaimed as he finally finished.

He's gathered several mines together, carefully placed atop each other to avoid setting them off and ruining his plan. Placing the metal in front of him, using it as a shield, Izuku readies himself.

「 I'm gonna borrow your idea, Kacchan! 」 He mutters before getting a running start and jumping onto the mines.

In an instant, the mines went off and set off an enormous explosion that towered everyone, everyone had stopped in shock. The students all stared, stunned, at the sudden intense burst of explosion.

「 There's a huge explosion at the back?! 」 Present Mic exclaimed, 「 What's with that force?! 」

Then from above, they see something.

「 That's... 」 Iida trailed off, staring wide-eyed, as he recognized the greenet flying above them.

「 Was it an accident, or did he do it on purpose? 」 Present Mic questioned, exclaiming the unexpected turn of events, 「 Class A's Midoriya is in hot pursuit with that blast! 」

Soon the greenet overtakes the three in the lead, flying ahead at great speed. 「 Actually, he's taken the lead! 」 Present Mic announced as the crowd cheered wildly.

In the air, Izuku is in quite a predicament. 「 I flew just like I'd planned, but there's so much force! 」 Izuku screamed in his head, 「 And... I didn't think about landing! 」

Angin stares at his greenet friend with a smile, 「 That was so awesome! Wait for me! 」 The wind element exclaimed as he pushed himself forward using the wind.

Bakugou is also seen flying towards the greenet, angrily yelling at him, 「 Deku! Don't go ahead of me! 」

Todoroki continues to create an ice path, running swiftly towards the greenet as well. Some students are already using his path for themselves with the occasional students slipping and setting mines off.

Izuku's panic starts to amplify as he realizes, 「 Oh no. I'm losing speed...! That's not surprising... They'll overtake me in an instant! 」

「 Thinking about the time I'd lose landing, 」 his mind tries to figure out a way to recover from this, his three classmates catching up to him finally, 「 there's no way I'd be able to take back the lead. 」

Izuku began to fall, but this wasn't over yet. 「 Damn it! No! Don't let go! 」 Grabbing hold of the wire of the mental, Izuku places his two feet on Todoroki and Bakugou's arms. 「 Grab hold of that chance you got to get in front of these three, and don't let go! 」

Angin notices this and the element finally realizes what the greenet was going to do. He quickly flies backwards, as the greenet slams the mental onto the ground.

「 If I can't take back the lead, then I can't let them get ahead of me! 」 Izuku mentally exclaimed.

The mines soon set off, blasting the greenet forward and sending the two backwards, even Angin who backed away was slightly disoriented by the blast before quickly rushing forward after the other.

「 Midoriya swiftly blocks those behind him!」 Present Mic announced as the audience watched as the greenet rolled on the ground to break his fall before setting off in a run, not even tripping. 「 Would you believe it? He cleared the minefield in an instant! 」

Angin is after him, however, alongside Todoroki and Bakugou who had recovered from the sudden blast. 「 Eraser Head, your class is amazing! What're you teaching them?! 」 Present Mic exclaimed.

「 I didn't do anything, 」 Eraser Head remarked, staring at the screen as he watched his students, 「 they got each other fired up on their own. 」

「 UA sports festival, first-year stage! 」 Present Mic started as Eraser Head irately exclaimed, 「 Not listening?! 」

「 Who could've predicted the developments at the beginning or this conclusion? 」 Present Mic said, announcing the first game's winner to be, 「 Right now, the first person back in the stadium is that man... 」

「 Midoriya Izuku's made a huge splash! 」

Cheers erupt from the stadium as Izuku enters first. Cameras flash, shouts and yells echoed. Panting, Izuku slowly looks around, his eyes landing on the skinny blond man in the teachers stand. Toshinori, smiling proudly at his disciple, was there with the other teachers, applauding with everyone.

Their eyes met as Izuku, giving his mentor a determined look, brought his clenched fist to his chest as the other nodded to him. Izuku began to tear up, threatening to spill, but he swiftly wiped his tears away.

In second place was BoBoiBoy, who now in his normal form, immediately approached his greenet friend to congratulate him, 「 Congrats on first place, Izukun! That explosion was a seriously awesome plan! 」

Izuku, scratching the back of his neck, blushed at the brunet's compliment. 「 I was just lucky...! 」 He said, bashfully staring at the ground.

But BoBoiBoy was having none of that. 「 Luck? No way! That was all you! 」 The brunet exclaimed, making the greenet look up and meet his friend's gaze.

A soft smile spreads across his face, giving the brunet a n appreciative nod. His expression then soon changes to curiosity as Izuku pondered.

「 Why didn't you take first place yourself? 」 The greenet instantly covers his mouth, accidentally saying his thoughts out loud.

The brunet stared at him in surprise, both silent for an uncomfortably long period of time before BoBoiBoy finally composes himself. The brunet smiled at Izuku.

「 The sports festival is an important opportunity for a lot of people. 」 BoBoiBoy explained, watching as more students start to finish one after another, 「 I don't want to steal all the spotlight, I'll give it my all of course, but I don't want to deprive others of their chances to shine. 」

「 Besides, I told you before. 」 BoBoiBoy smirked mischievously, earning a curious look from Izuku, 「 I wanted to stay behind. 」

Izuku doesn't get to ask the brunet more about what he meant by that when BoBoiBoy suddenly sees Yaoyorozu and runs off to greet the noirette. Sighing, Izuku concluded that it must've been a part of the brunet's surprise special plan.

Bakugou, holding his left arm, pants heavily. He grutted his teeth, 「 Again... Damn... 」 the spiky blond cursed「 Damn it...! 」

Similarly in a panting state, Todoroki breathed slowly, the frostbite growing on his right side sublimating into a chilled steam. Todoroki glanced at the greenet who was staring at his left hand, before the heterochromic teen turns and walks away.

Present Mic then announces that more and more students are finishing, telling the audience they'll reveal the rest of the placements after everyone finishes.

All the while, BoBoiBoy is making his way over to his noirette friend. 「 This isn't how it was supposed to... 」 Momo said weakly, exhausted from running with extra weight on her back.

「 I killed two birds with one stone! 」 Mineta exclaimed joyously, not at all remorseful for using the noirette to carry him, 「 I'm a genius! 」

「 You're the worst! 」 Momo yells at the perverted short purple-haired boy who's face was swollen from the punch he had received before from the noirette.

Mineta's victory is swiftly distrubed when BoBoiBoy finally reaches them. 「 Min Min~? 」 The brunet said in a sing-song tone, a forced smile on his face as he gives the short purple-haired boy the scariest glare he's ever given.

「 Do you want to have a death wish? 」 BoBoiBoy questioned, his face dark as Mineta's face paled, 「 Eeek! 」 The short purple-haired boy squeaked.

Scrambling away, Mineta is instantly off of the noirette. As soon as he was gone, BoBoiBoy dropped the scary gaze and looked at Momo worriedly

「 Are you all right, Momo? 」 The brunet asked before noticing Mineta's sticky purple balls stuck on the noirette's back. 「 And your clothes! 」

Momo sighed, both in relief and fatigue. 「 I'll be fine, 」 she reassures, 「 and I can always make or ask for a new uniform. 」

「 I'll go ask for a new one! 」 BoBoiBoy offered, surprising the noirette for a moment. He didn't have to do that but the brunet insisted.

Giving him a thankful smile, Momo nodded, 「 Then let me come with you! I need to find a place to change too. 」

The two venture off as quickly as they could, not wanting to miss the announcement of what the next round will be.

「 The first game of the first-year stage is finally over. 」 Midnight announced as she flicks her flogger-style whip at the screen. 「 Now, take a look at the results! 」

Class A, Midoriya Izuku: 1st; Class A, BoBoiBoy: 2nd; Class A, Todoroki Shouto: 3rd; Class A, Bakugou Katsuki: 4th; and the list goes on until it ends on the 43rd student.

「 The top 43 students made it through to the next round. 」 Midnight stated, the screen showing all the placements of the progressing students to everyone.

「 It's unfortunate, but don't worry even if you didn't make it! 」 Midnight exclaimed, licking her lips, 「 We've prepared other chances for you to shine. 」

「 The real competition begins next! 」 She said, smirking widely at the audience and students, as she flicked her whip. 「 The press cavalry'll be over it! Give it your all! 」

BoBoiBoy blinked, 【 Was that a pun...? 】 he inquired mentally, wondering what she meant by that.

「 Now then, here is the second game. 」 Everyone's eyes were on the screen, 「 I already know what it is, but what could it be? What could it be? 」

Placing her glasses down, Midnight smirked as the screen revealed the next game. 「 I just said it, and now here it is... 」

【 Cavalry battle...? 】 BoBoiBoy repeated in his head, staring curiously up at the screen.

「 A cavalry battle? I'm bad at those... 」 Kaminari muttered, looking at the screen in discomfort, as Tsuyu wondered how the game would proceed, 「 It's not an individual event, so I wonder how it'll work... 」 Tsu

BoBoiBoy quietly listens, mumbling to himself in his native dialect, 【 I'm at a disadvantage. I've never played this before... 】 His statement received some confused and curious looks from the students near him.

「 Let me explain. 」 Midnight started, explaining the point system of the game. 「 The participants can form teams of two to four people as they wish. 」

「 It's basically the same as a regular cavalry battle, but the one thing that's different is... based on the results of the last game, each person has been assigned a point value. 」

「 A point-based system like the entrance exam, huh? 」 Satou muttered, nodding in understanding, 「 That's easy to understand. 」

「 In other words, each team is worth different points depending on who's on the team! 」 Ochako concluded as Mina exclaimed, 「 I see! 」

「 You guys don't hold back even though I'm talking, huh?! 」 Midnight scolded them, flicking her flogger-style whip irritatedly, as the students sweatdropped.

「 Yes. That's right! And the points assigned go up by five starting from the bottom. 」 Midnight continued, the screen changing to show each participant's points, 「 So 43rd place gets five points, and 42nd gets ten points! 」

「 And the point value assigned to first place is... ten million! 」

. . .

「 T-Ten million?! 」 Izuku repeated, his face white as a sheet, as everyone immediately turned towards him.

「 Ten million, huh? 」

「 In other words, if you take down the first place player's team... 」

「 ...you can stand at the top no matter what place you're in! 」

「 That's right. 」 Midnight said, smirking sadistically, 「 It's survival of the fittest, with a chance for those at the bottom to overthrow the top! 」

Izuku's breathing quickens, the intense stares from his competitors burning holes into his skin, as he suddenly feels as though they were towering over him. And for a moment, surrounded by his old classmates, he's brought back to his younger years. Except, now he notices that the way his peers here at UA are different from junior high.

Still . . . the heavy weight of being at the top, was this similar to the pressure his mentor has as the number one? This next game . . .

He's fucked, isn't he?

「 Now then, I will explain the rules of the cavalry battle. 」 Midnight stated, gesturing towards the screen with her whip, 「 The time limit is fifteen minutes. 」

BoBoiBoy watched the screen as All Might, Present Mic, Thirteen, and Snipe are shown as an example, it was a little funny to see the number one hero in Japan being the one to be carried.

「 Each team is worth of its members' points, and the riders will wear a headband with that number on their foreheads.  Teams will try to grab each other's headbands until time runs out, and try to keep as many points as they can. Stolen headbands must be worn from the neck up. So the more you steal, the harder it'll be to manage them! 」

BoBoiBoy immediately covers his mouth with his hand, hiding the smile on his face, as he watches the All Might on the screen gain more and more headbands. It was both cute and funny to see the pro hero be bested by headbands.

「 And the most important thing is that even if your headband gets stolen, or if your team falls, you're not out! 」 Midnight exclaimed, pointing her whip at the crowd of students

「 Which means... 」 Momo started as Satou continued, 「 ...since there are 42 people, there will be ten or twelve teams on the field the whole time? 」

「 That's tough. 」 Aoyama said, popping up from below.

「 One strategy could be to let someone take your points first so you'll be more free. 」 Mina suggested as Tsuyu remarked in response, 「 It's hard to say without seeing how all the points end up getting split up, Mina-chan. 」

「 During the game, it'll be a cruel fight where you can use your Quirks. 」 Midnight stated, flicking her whip around as she spoke, 「 But it is still a cavalry battle. 」

「 You'll get a red card for attacks that are trying to make people fall on purpose! 」 She exclaimed, 「 You'll be removed immediately! 」

「 Now, you have fifteen minutes to build your teams. Start! 」

In an instant, BoBoiBoy goes into strategic thinking mode. 【 I want to team up with someone I'm already familiar with... It's better than working with someone who secretly hates me... 】 The brunet thought to himself.

It was a reasonable plan except . . . No one seemed to want to team with him!

Todoroki pulled Momo, Tenya, and Kaminari aside, so they're probably going to be a team. Kirishima, Mina, Sero, Aoyama, Satou, Shouji, and Hagakure want to team with Bakugou so BoBoiBoy's options are limited.

【 I placed second yet no one wants to team with me... 】 BoBoiBoy cries in his head.

But it wasn't as bad as Izuku's situation. BoBoiBoy could feel the stares and glances of students who wanted to team with him but were probably waiting for the brunet to make his first move. All the while, Izuku is being rejected by almost everyone.

As time passed, BoBoiBoy wondered if he had to go with plan B when he spotted a familiar pinkette in the crowd. 「 Hatsume-san! 」 The brunet called out as the said pinkette turned and greeted him back.

「 BoBoiBoy-kun! Been a while, huh? 」 Hatsume remarked as BoBoiBoy nodded, bashfully scratching the back of his head, 「 Yeah, sorry I haven't dropped by lately. 」 He apologized.

「 No worries! 」 Hatsume forgave him, before asking him about her invention, 「 But how's my translator baby? Any problems? 」

「 Oh! 」 BoBoiBoy almost forgot it, carefully pulling out the device from his ear.

He cringes, even though he doesn't know much about technology and inventions, BoBoiBoy could tell that he broke the translator. It sparked and the brunet wondered how in the world he hadn't been electrocuted.

「 Maybe he should've removed it at the beginning... 」 BoBoiBoy muttered softly, giving the small device to the pinkette.

「 Hey! Don't worry about it! 」 Hatsume assured the brunet, 「 I can fix it up for you! 」

BoBoiBoy smiled, but then thought about it more. 「 Thanks but I think I won't need it anymore. 」 The brunet said, receiving a curious look from the pinkette.

「 You're Japanese is pretty good nowadays, 」 Hatsume noticed, before shrugging and insisting, 「 but you can never be too careful! 」

「 I'll still give you an upgraded one when you drop by the development studio just in case, alright? 」 BoBoiBoy nodded in response, 「 Alright! 」 he said.

「 Sooo... what did you want? 」 Hatsume then changes the topic, reminding the brunet of the reason why he approached the pinkette in the first place.

「 I was wondering if you'd like to team with me? 」 BoBoiBoy asked, surprising the pinkette a bit. She seemed to be debating whether or not to accept his offer but soon decides to decline it.

「 Sorry, but I was already planning on asking the first placer if I could join his team. 」 Hatsume stated, apologizing, as BoBoiBoy's face fell.

She felt a bit guilty but this was her chance to show off her inventions, and everyone is bound to be hooked onto the first placer with ten million points. Sure, you could say she's just using the first placer but that is how it goes. And to her surprise, BoBoiBoy understood it all.

「 Don't worry! I get it! 」 BoBoiBoy reassured the pinkette, his smile back as he stated, 「 This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for you to show off your babies to the support companies, right? So don't let me hold you back! 」

Hatsume's eye sparkled, 「 See! You get it! 」 She exclaimed with a laugh. 「 Y'know what? We can both join him if he'd let us. 」 Hatsume suggested, wondering why she hadn't thought of it before. The first and second placer in a team, that would be the golden opportunity.

「 Nah, I wanna challenge Izukun. So I'll pass. 」 BoBoiBoy declined, determined to challenge Izuku, and surprisingly, Hatsume didn't feel disappointed when he said that.

「 Guess that means we'll meet again as opponents. 」 She said, smirking widely at BoBoiBoy, as she placed her hands on her hips. 「 Excited to see what kind of new babies you've come up with. 」 BoBoiBoy exclaimed, a mischievous grin on his face.

「 See you in the next round, Hatsume-san! 」 BoBoiBoy said as Hatsume started walking—hovering—over to Izuku,「 Obviously! 」 Hatsume responded heartily.

As soon as she leaves, BoBoiBoy lets out a sigh. 【 Guess we're going with plan B after all. 】 He mumbled to himself, staring at his power watch.

Looking up at Midnight, BoBoiBoy starts to make his way towards her, his ears perking at the voices of the other students.

「 Almost everyone here has their eyes on Class A. 」 The blond guy from Class B that made him drop his dessert last time (yes, BoBoiBoy was still upset about that) started speaking to his teammates. 「 Why is that? 」

「 And like Tetsutetsu said, Class A is full of themselves about it... It's strange, isn't it? The only difference between us and them is that they fought villains. Why were those of us in Class B happy with being in the middle of the pack? 

「 Let's let the arrogant Class A know, guys. But we need to be wary of that foriegn exchange student. 」

BoBoiBoy could feel their stares at him as he pretends to be oblivious. The blond's words, however, churned an uncomfortable feeling in his stomach. Not everyone in Class A was full of themselves, much less arrogant. Nitpicking at the class' flaws and ignoring the good side of the students in the class, why do they make it seem like Class A isn't all that perfect?

They aren't perfect. No one is . . .

His thoughts are soon interrupted when he makes it to Midnight and she calls out to him. 「 Hey! Time's running out, if you don't team up with at least one person, you'll be disqualified. 」 She stated, pointing her whip at him.

BoBoiBoy simply smiled, a mischievous glint in his eyes, as he asked, 「 What if... there were three of me? Could I team up with myself? 」 The question caught Midnight off guard, 「 What do you mean-- 」 she was about inquire until--

【 BoBoiBoy Triple Split! 】

The brunet is immediately engulfed in a bright light, a circle with three elemental symbols appearing as three figures suddenly jump out of it. As the light died down, the whole stadium was so silent you could hear a pin drop. Everyone stared at the three lookalike figures, their gym attire different and corresponding to their color scheme.

「 Well? 」 Angin inquired, staring determinedly at a shocked Midnight, 「 There's three of us now. Can we? 」

The silence was soon broken by a boisterous laughter, 「 What a riveting surprise, and such vigor in those eyes! 」Midnight exclaimed, wiping a tear from her eye, 「 I'll allow it! 」

The audience then breaks into wild cheers and shouts. How many Quirks did this single boy have? Questions filled their heads as they wondered just who the hell was this kid?

His peers all stared at him too, shocked and stunned to witness such a thing. And in the crowd of students Izuku was there. The greenet recalled the time the brunet gave him a notebook detailing his elements personalities, was this what BoBoiBoy meant when he left some things out?

Was this what BoBoiBoy meant when he said he had a plan of action?

「 What did you expect? 」 Petir said to their peers, a hand on his hip, as he gave them an eyebrow raise.

「 We did tell you guys! 」 Angin exclaimed, reminding the students of their player's pledge speech.

「 We're giving it our all. 」 Tanah said, facing their opponents with a determined expression.

「 We're aiming for the top. 」

Let me just say this, I am not very experienced at writing fight scenes so it was a pain writing this. I hope guys will still enjoy it, though, even if my writing is poor quality.

If you thought BoBoiBoy was gonna team up with Hatsume, sorry to subvert your expectations ;P I debated on doing it but ultimately decided to go with NerdyGamer77 's elemental split concept because I really liked that idea!

OG Trio has made their appearance! And you will get to see them in action in the next chapter! :D
