Love triangle

This is where the train wreck comes lol

"Hey Mr. Stark, can..can I ask you a question?" Peter asked nervously from a lab table. His homework was laid out across the tables surface and despite being there for an hour, he hadn't even began working on his assignments. He was too stuck in his thoughts.

"sure kid." Tony responded chewing on his sandwich, he didn't look up from his what he was working on as he continued swiping around on his telegraphs and instructing F.r.i.d.a.y. On what little things to change.

Peer looked down shyly blushing, "never mind." He mumbled, letting his embarrassment get to him.

Tony glanced up before continuing his work, "It's ok Pete, what is it?" The billionaire asked, and he continued swiping.

"Well..uh." He scratched his neck searching for the right words to say but ended up saying "itaboutagerl"

"What?" Tony asked, having not understood the boy.

"ᴵᵗ'ˢ ᵃᵇᵒᵘᵗ ᵃ ᵍᶦʳˡ"

Tony froze holding his sandwich up to his mouth and turned his head to look at the boy who now was a flustering mess. The billionaire showed his famous smirk, "a girl you say?" He asked, placing his sandwich back into his plate. Tony put his hands together, leaning his elbows onto the counter top and watched Peter, awaiting his question.

"uh..yeah." Peter said suddenly becoming extremely interested in the floor tiles, "I just..I really like this girl but I don't know if she likes me and I wanna tell her but I don't want to ruin the relationship we already have and I don't know if she's even allowed to date but I really like her and I need help." He rushed out, "I'm afraid I'll ruin everything and I couldn't stand losing her as a friend."

"try flirting with her." Tony said, picking up How sandwich again and taking a bite from it, "but don't make it obvious that you're flirting, try small baby steps."

"Mr. Stark I have no idea how to flirt." Peter interrupted, "I think that would turn out bad and be awkward  and-"

"You can practice on me." Tony told the boy, "in your head right now think about the girl and talk to me like you'd talk to her." He noticed Peter's blank stare and added, "tell me what you'd tell her if you were flirting."

"Oh ok." Peter nodded clearing his throat. "Uh...I..mr. Stark I don't know what to say."

"Just throw out a compliment, most girls love that." Tony said.

Peter nodded, "I uh...admire..the smartness in your brain?"

Tony couldn't even hide his cringing. "Ok try again with less..whatever that was."

"I...like the way...uh you talk?" Peter tried.

Tony shook his head, "try saying something about her eyes or how pretty she looks."

"Your eyes remind me of crayons."

"Ok..." tony said slowly, "how about just forget about the flirting...buy her some flowers or chocolates and just tell her how you feel."

"But what if I mess up?" Peter asked sighing, "Mr. Stark I really like this girl and I've never felt this way before...I just want things to work out, I've been wanting to tell her for weeks but I'm too afraid I'll ruin everything, how do I know I'm not gonna mess everything up?"

"You won't know." Tony explained "its a leap of faith Pete, that's all it is. You just have to go for it, otherwise you're gonna live your life regretting not telling her and wondering what would've happened if you did."

Peter sat for a moment contemplating everything he just heard, "ok Mr. Stark, thank you."

"No problem, but whatever you do don't try flirting."

•time skip•

The next day at school all Peter kept doing was staring at the clock, waiting desperately for when the bell would ring to signal the end of the day and Peter could talk to y/n in private, without the disturbances of hallway noise or Ned's new awkward attempt to talk to y/n. In fact Peter was so distracted at the beginning of lunch, he didn't even notice Ned was repeating the same story about a video game for the third time that day. "Peter are you paying attention?" Ned asked finally pulling Peter back to reality.

"huh?" He asked.

"I sai-"

"Hey guys!" A voice interrupted, and both Peter and Ned instantly perked up forgetting everything. "Oh my god today keeps dragging on." Y/n complained, sliding into a seat in front of them as she tossed her backpack next to it.

"Yeah..." Ned agreed seeming to be in a trance.

"So are we still on for a movie tonight?" Y/n asked the boys, "no spidering around tonight?" Y/n asked staring at Peter with raised eyebrows.

"No spidering around." Peter confirmed.

"Cool because last week it was just Ned and me and we couldn't watch empire strikes back because somebody.." She eyed peter "didn't show up with the movie." The girl laughed and Peter noticed, Ned forced a laugh staring dreamily at y/n with his head resting in his hand. Peter looked from Ned to y/n with a confused look. Wait a second.

"I'll be right back" y/n said looking down to her lunch, "I forgot a fork." And she stood, walking away leaving Ned goggling at her disappearing figure.

"Dude!" Peter whisper yelled right when the girl was out of earshot.

"What?" Ned asked snapping back to reality.

"What was that?"

"What was what?"

"That!" Peter said gesturing to where the girl went, "you were totally just drooling over her." Ned looked back at his lunch, pretending he didn't understand what peter was talking about. "What do you like her?" Peter asked, not dropping the topic.

"Well yeah what's not to like." Ned mumbled, "last week when you didn't show up y/n and me ended up just hanging out and I realized how funny and pretty she is." Ned daydreamed, "she's amazing. I think I'm in love. I wanna ask her to be my girlfriend."

Peter sighed looking down at his lunch tray, and all his excitement seemed to drain from his body, how was he supposed to date the girl his best friend liked? That would be betrayal. "Well..just so you know I like her too."

Ned literally choked on his drink, "you what?" He asked. Peer only nodded. "Well then in that case..just so it's fair we should make a vow that none of us get to date her."

Peter sighed looking at his hopeful friend, "ok."

"Ok I'm back." Y/n announced sitting down. "Did I miss anything?"

"No." Peter sighed and Ned shook his head way too hard. The rest of the lunch period was just Ned and y/n conversing and laughing while Peter watched the two, wishing he had confessed his feelings earlier.

Wow lately I'm actually getting ideas for this book.
