Seven.

Aerith was falling to their doom. The air was speeding past them, and the ground rapidly approaching. They channeled their energy, and focused on Chaff. Purple ribbons fluttered and they set their feet on solid ground. They wobbled and opened their eyes to a 16 made of stars in front of them. They were in some kind of astral plane, surrounded by someone else's timeline. They looked at one fragment of time. A teenage girl, laughing with a group of people, in a coffee shop. The girl was wearing an outfit similar to that of Aerith's own superhero get up, except pink rather than blue. Aerith recognized the girl's mask, but couldn't place a name. Aerith ran through the timeline, this coffee shop a recurring place.  Aerith stopped at a scene, sometime in May. The girl was drawing in a notebook with a glitter pen. Glitter. Pink. Pieces were starting to fall into place.
"Chaff. This is her timeline? How did I get here?" They mumbled as they stepped into one of the scenes around them.
"Thanks for the coffee. It's how much exactly?" The girl asked the barista, holding a ten dollar bill.
"No worries. Count this one as free, friend." He grinned, waving his hand at her offering.
"Are you sure? This is a business after all. I was joking about free coffee earlier." She spun slightly on the stool. The barista laughed.
"No, I just volunteer for the owner, so it's not my issue if the coffee is free or not. It's a favor," he paused, and raised an eyebrow. "You can pay me back for it some time in the future."
"Maybe I'll save your life some time with my badass superhero shit." She grinned. "I'm going to be an awesome hero bitch."
"Little do you know kid, little do you know." Aerith grumbled, shaking their head.
"Yeah. Maybe you will." The barista had a smile like a proud older sibling as he ruffled Chaff's hair. Aerith stepped out of the time slot and strolled down the pathway into the part of the timeline that read 17. The coffee shop had seemed to become a nearly daily thing. Aerith came to a point where the path forked into two possible timelines, one brightly lit, one shadowy and dark. There was a memory right at the split. They stepped in, the crunch of snow under their boots. They were surrounded by what appeared to be the charred remains of the coffee shop. Chaff stood, staring, at the remains, holding a note.
"She wanted me. Virus wanted me, and Wicker, the shop, they're gone. I told him I was going to save his life and I failed him. I failed him!" Her shoulders shook with her sobs. Aerith set their hand on her shoulder. She whipped away and looked them up and down. "Who are you? You look insanely familiar, but I can't place my finger on it. I mean you're clearly a hero, but why didn't you save him?"
"You don't know me. And you said you were going to save him and you didn't. You clearly aren't fit to be a hero with your lack of morals Chaff." Aerith found themselves snarling at the girl. Something broke within Chaff at that moment. Aerith was sucked out of the memory and back into the timeline. "She has no morals. Good thing she left the superhero life."
The next thing Aerith knew, they were in the moment as Chaff threw them off the roof, standing behind her.
"Whoops!" Chaff said, grinning maniacally. "There goes Allegro!" She turned, and came face to face with Aerith. Her jaw dropped. "Wha-I jus-I just threw you off of the building!"
"Time travel, you immoral bitch." Aerith sneered.
