#4 Surprise.
Small creaking of the wheels from a wheelchair drowned on Izuku's ears as he was getting pushed along by his friend who had been insistent about pushing him forward and just followed the doctor. The young boy had looked from side to side, seeing nurses whispering around him and even hearing another doctor, "I can't believe he came out almost unscathed." he had ignored it as Katsuki seemingly sent a glare towards anyone who had said such a thing.
As they walked he tried to think of more horned creatures, and only a few came to mind. A Rhino, some Lizards, and something exceedingly random like a narwhal. He couldn't think of anything else, tho some old times mythical creatures did pop into his head... he just couldn't quite think of them besides a dragon. He had a sudden small headache as he thought of them all and the moving didn't entirely help his expense.
When they had gotten to the room the doctor flicked the light, His name tag finally catching a glimpse he saw the last name Hikari. "Hikari-san... What exactly is a... quirk test?" Izuku's voice came out curious and shy but the doctor looked down at the boy with a small smile, "Well a quirk test is fairly simple my boy, we will just tell you to try things to see if anything happens. Most quirks have similar feelings, of reaching out like a sixth sense and grabbing ahold of it and just bringing it forth. It sounds a little daunting but we will try a couple of things."
Izuku nodded his head understanding the idea behind it... he had seen Katsuki holding out his hand one day and saying smash but when he did instead of a huge burst of strength like the famous All might he instead had the small pops that came forth. I suppose he had done it many times too, trying to search for whatever type of power he may or may not have, he didn't know exactly what he was looking or even feeling for.
They had wheeled him into a fairly crushed room, many sprinklers dotted the ceiling and some even on the walls, a place had Izuku fairly concerned as there was quirk suppression cuffs that were on the wall, he had assumed that if a quirk was too powerful they had to cuff the patient to stop it if they couldn't themselves. Katsuki looked around in surprise as well, there was even a table with some mundane things, blocks, and other household objects.
"In all honesty, if your mother doesn't know why you would have a horn it is possible that your quirk mutated, it's rare but it happens," Hikari stated making Izuku look up from his chair as Katsuki pushed him towards the table. "Nevertheless, we should start from your parents to see if it's similar." He nodded his head as Hikari waved towards Katsuki to come over to the wall. Grunting in annoyance he did as he was told.
Izuku looked at the table in curiosity as he grabbed a block and studied it. "First is your dad, fire breath... try to cough and clear your throat before trying to focus on your chest." Doing as he was told he tried to reach for anything that he could feel and tried to exhale anything... but all that came out was air. Frowning to himself he tried a few more times but just slumped into his chair in sadness. "Okay, nothing to worry about Midoriya, let's try your mothers."
Holding out his hands he tried to mimic what his mother does when she grabs at random things in the house and focused on the block, he kept trying the same motion before he sighed, crumpling in his chair... Hikari had frowned at the expression and as he was about to walk over there Katsuki beat him to it and he had waved his hand slightly for Izuku to scooch over in the wheelchair, as it was an adult-sized one and not small at all, he managed to sit next to him.
"Maybe it's not fully there?" Katsuki hummed as he looked at the small little bump on his head making Izuku slowly look up at him and at the doctor who hummed at the thought. "That's a very good point Bakugo-san." Hikari smiled at him making the little boy roll his eyes, he was just speaking out the possible truth... "We can try one last thing, Izuku, can you try to focus on the little bump on your forehead and try to, pull from it? It may be a form of telepathy quirk or even a transformation quirk." He had said, some words flew over both of the kid's heads but he had an idea of what he should do...
Closing his eyes he felt his eyes moving inside his head as he tried to figure out how he could 'reach' the bump. but as he was reaching around in his mind something clicked, like a light switch that was turned off and there was suddenly a small glow seemingly brightening his closed eyes, opening them to see what was happening. When he did he couldn't help but go agape as everything in the room was floating. The wheelchair he and Katsuki was on and Katsuki seemingly had to hold onto both him and the chair from not flying away.
He looked over towards his mom and Hikari to see they were also floating, although one of them as trying to wiggle their way free, the doctor seemingly upside down was still taking notes quickly. "Alright, Midoriya! That's it!" The doctor smiled at him, still upside down before Izuku gulped as he tried to will everything to go down in the room, it did but because he was so new to it, all the furniture dropped, his control breaking from that as he tried to slowly push him and Katsuki back to stable ground.
Thankfully without a bumpy landing, he did just that. Calming his nerves he looked up from his spot to see his mother smiling brightly and the doctor was writing some more down stuff down but he had saw the smile on his face as well, however, surprisingly both of the looks didn't compare to the bright grin on the blonds face. "That's so cool Izu! It's like we were in Zero gravity!" He was so jittery it made the chair bounce briefly but then Izuku winced slightly and placed his hand on his head.
"Ah, are you okay Izu?" Katsuki's voice became excited to worried in such a split second it surprised the green-haired boy. "I just got a headache is all." The doctor hearing this hummed briefly, "So the drawbacks to your quirk is headaches, I'd assume on the grand scheme of things when you try more than this you would get a migraine." Putting it down into his notes before placing the board on the table. "So it seems like a mutated version of your telekinesis, Midoriya-san." He looked over towards Inko who walked over to the boys.
"However I have a feeling that there is more to your quirk than just that, the horn being the key to activating it seems to be correct, perhaps it gets stronger the bigger the horn is?" He shook his head from the thought. "Anyways, if you find anything else out I will need it for your full quirk registration." Izuku nodded his head numbly, his head was still pounding but he could ignore it for now. "So, I can go home?" He asked making the doctor smile and nod, "Yes, you may go home. Though I think you should have some migraine medicine just in case if they get too bad."
Inko nodded her head at that, "Yes please, I wouldn't want him to have those headaches." Katsuki jumped off the chair briefly making Izuku frown briefly but then felt the chair moving slowly as he did, looking behind he saw Katsuki grabbing the handles from the chair and started to move him towards the exit of the room. He saw his mom and the doctor following after them as Katsuki smiled to himself... Katsuki caught his eyes and grinned brightly as he leaned forward. "Now we can be the best heroes! I beat them up with explosions and you save everyone!"
The words that flowed out of his mouth made him feel bubbly inside, he knew they always talked about it but... this felt different. smiling to himself as he looked forward, Katsuki unaware as he said. "The best, just like All Might..." He had heard it and they started to laugh together in happiness.
