Slowly opening your eyes, you hissed at the blinding infirmary lights, taking a sharp shallow breath.
Law was there by the bedside, knocked out from exhaustion. You tried to think about what happened but it only worsened the pounding headache of yours.
Looking at your handsome love, you gently pet his soft hair. He was sleeping so quietly yet he looked worried.
'I wonder what happened... how did i get here?'
You thought as memory failed to serve.
Slowly getting up and heading to the washroom, holding onto the walls for balance, you were abruptly picked up by a pair of strong tanned arms.
"Where you goin?"
Law breathed into your hair, snuggling his face into your neck.
"I need a shower..." you gently rubbed his head.
"You got me worried... you just passed out. I ran some tests on you but fortunately you're in perfect health. What happened my love?"
He cooed.
"I don't remember... when i try to remember i get a headache and my heart starts pounding..."
He frowned and carried you to the bathroom.
"Let's give you a bath for now" he kissed your temple gently. He was so caring, so sweet...
You watched as he gently set you down to prepare your bath for you, deciding wether to put in bubblegum bubble gel in it or if he should put in the vanilla honey.
"Vanilla please!" You giggled and he nodded with a small blush.

Bubble baths were your favorite. The water was the perfect temperature and the fact that law was washing your hair and massaging your head made it so much better. You felt so loved and spoiled.
"Thank you" you thanked him, closing your eyes, a peaceful smile on your face.
"Anything for you. Keep your eyes closed." Law's heart melted as he slowly rinsed your hair.
He looked so cold and tough, but he was a tender sensitive soul.
You got a nice massage and bath from him and now, wearing his soft hoodie, you were seated on the bed as he dried your hair.
"My hair is getting so long..."
"It's beautiful, " he kissed your hair "but if it bothers you we'll get you a haircut."
"I'll decide later" you hummed as he braided your hair.
"When did you learn to braid hair?" You asked curiously.
"I used to braid my sisters hair for her." He smiled.
Everything was so peaceful. Yawning you patted the bed;
"Cuddles?" You asked with puppy eyes.
"Of course love" he lied down with you and cuddled you.
"Are you worried about Wano?"
"Yeah.." he admitted with a sigh.
"Everything will be okay"
"I just to lose you..."
"We will live."
You reassured, placing a soft kiss on his lips.

"Captain we're stopping at this autumn island to shop for things we need"
Shachi popped in, immediately leaving after to catch up to Penguin and Bepo.
"Mmmmm autumn island~~~" you chimed, glowing.
"Wanna go for a walk?" Law kissed your hand. You nodded and immediately called dibs on his xoat by wearing it.
"Look at me! Am doctor! Room room! Shamble jamble!" You giggled, imitating him. He chuckled and wore another coat and held your hand as you walked off the sub. It was a refreshing chill. Yellow and orange leaves bringing a stillness and calm over the whole island.
"Ah i love autumn islands" Law stretched and you poked his sides.
"Hey! No!" He groaned.
"Hmm i wonder if Zoro's hair changes color in different seasons..." you hummed, holding a leaf.
"You know what? I've wondered that for so long!" Law laughed.
"Captaaaiinnn!!!" Bepo ran to you.
"What's wrong Bepo?" Law frowned.
"The submarine needs repairs, we're gonna be here for a while. I'm sorry"
"It's okay Bepo thank you for letting me know."
And with that, Bepo was gone to find everyone else.
"Shall we go find a place to stay at?"
You nodded and hugged his arm as you began walking into town.

The town was ghastly as if struck by a plague. The people all looked so lifeless. As if they're looking not at you, but something behind you. It made you uncomfortable and you hugged onto Law's arm tighter.
"Look there's actually a motel!" He chimed.
"Good good lets go in!"
You pushed him into the building to escape the piercing eyes of the townsfolk.
The lady behind the receptionist desk was beautiful. Her long silky hair covering half of her face, giving her an elegant meek look. You admired her long lashes and red lips as Law got you a room.
"Hey? Let's go to our room?" He jingled the keys.
You snapped out of your thoughts and blinked. Nodding slowly as he lead you to the top floor of the place.
"Feels nice to be on land once in a while." He plopped on the creaky bed.
"Something about this whole place seems off..." You muttered, looking around the room. It felt as if you were still being watched.
Law held your hands and gently pulled you into his lap, holding you close.
"You still feel unwell. I think you need to rest." He played with your hair.
Feeling quite lightheaded, you leaned into him and closed your eyes.

Up in cold sweat with no recollection of what nightmare you were having, you gasped for air. It felt as if you're being stabbed by hundreds of pins and needles.
Getting up you went to the small washroom to freshen up. Unconsciously looking over your shoulder in fear. Law was asleep and you didn't have the heart to wake him up.
The water was so cold it felt as if it cuts into your skin. Nonetheless you vigorously washed your face and hands.

Sighing as you closed the bathroom door behind you, you plopped down on the old creaky couch. It was dusty but you were so exhausted you cared not.
Something caught the corner of your eye, hey, at least there was a book here to read!
Flipping through the book, reading it to distract yourself, it was as if the book is a collection of short stories. Some made no sense but you blamed it on exhaustion.
Flipping another page, you were shocked to see it blank. Confused you flipped more pages and they were all empty.
A strong cold wind blew open the window, sending shivers down your spine.
'One of us~'
A whisper called out as the book pages flipped to the first blank page. Words were appearing on the page. They were your words. They were your life, your powers.
"LAW!!!" You screamed for him but he didn't budge. Weird. He was a light sleeper.
Thinking more, he didnt wake up when you jolted awake from your nightmare. He usually wakes up even when you try to turn.
"LAW!!!" Another call, this time full of worry, and no answer once more.
Running to his side you saw his arm was hanging off the bed, with something clinging to it. Leaning in, two bloody eyes shot up at you, with a loud screech following.
"What the FUCK!" You tried using your powers but they wouldn't work.

As the shadow crawled out from under the bed, you shivered upon realizing this was the receptionist lady. Her hair completely pushed back, half of her face rotten. You gagged at the sight but became even more worried about Law. Grabbing the evil book you sntched Law's sword, hitting the lady in the stomach with enough force to send her flying out the door. Immediately barricading you in the room.

Panting through the shock, you went to check on Law. He was pale and unconscious. A big wound on his arm still bleeding.
"I don't know shit about medical stuff Law! You're the doctor you shouldn't fall!!!" You cried as you bandaged him up. You had to get out of there. But he was unconscious and had lost so much blood.

"Think, y.n , think!!!" You panicked. A thought came to your mind. He'd either die from blood loss or blood transfer.
"We're doin it." You took a shaky breath and rummaged through the room, looking for anything helpful. All there was was a straw.
"Guess this'll be the transfer tube i guess."
With much difficulty, you managed to stick the straw into your and his arm, your warm blood going to his cold body.
Your heart sank when there was banging at the door. The lady was back and you knew your barricade wouldn't hold her out.
Fortunately Law's body was warming up. You went through the shitty book for clues of what happened while you waited. Apparently it was a cursed book that would take the powers of those who read it.
"I don't have time for your shit! I WILL burn you!!" You lashed out, throwing it at the wall.
It actually fell on the candle and caught fire.
Were you not in such a crisis you'd laugh. Screams and cries came from the book as it burned, shadows escaping it.
"Y.n?" Law whispered, gaining consciousness.
"You're alive!" You sobbed, hugging him.
"What's going on..."
"This place is cursed I've lost my power and the receptionist lady was drinking your blood and chewing your arm!" You hiccuped between tears.
"Law we gotta go..." you jumped up as the lady finally busted the door open.
Helping him up you looked for an escape route. Law couldn't use his devil fruit because he was so lightheaded.
"We're jumping out" you declared and just jumped with him into the freezing river.

The cold water hit you like a truck, pushing out every bit of oxygen in your lungs. You struggled and swam up together, only to be greeted by a swarm of people.
You were so naiive to think the rest of the town were humans.
"We're dead we're so fucking dead" you wheezed through your freezing lips.
"I can't use my powers..." Law whispered.
"Me neither but i refuse to let us die here. I'll bite their heads off if i have to!! We WILL live!" You screamed out and the shadows that escaped the book appeared around you, circling you before going down your throat through your mouth and nose.
"Y.n!!!!!!" Law called out to you as the sounds were fading away.

It felt as if you're swallowing lava. Every cell in your body hurt. This is it, this is how i die, you thought.
'Freed from the curse
Time goes in reverse
Just hide deep in the shadows'
The voices sang. Something was changing, you could feel it.
Coming back to your senses it was as if hours had passed but it was just a second. Your instincts knew what to do.
"Law hold on!" You grabbed his hand and with newfound strength, you ran for it, dragging him behind. The whole crowd was chasing you as you two ran for your life.
"There's no exit here!" Law panted as you reached a deadend.
"Trust me." You pulled him into the shadows as you two simply sank in them. The crowd got there s minute after you but they found no trace of you. You could see and hear them, but they couldn't see you.

With a sigh you both plopped down within the shadow world.
"What's this?" Law asked.
"A gift from the souls freed from the cursed book i guess?"
He gave you the most confused look.
"You were unconscious, I'll tell you later."
He simply nodded and checked on his wounds.
"Thank you for bandaging me"
"It's nothing... I'm glad you didn't die when i gave you of my blood"
"You WHAT?"
"LISTEN you were dying i know from medicine and doctor stuff as much as a chicken does!" You defended.
He laughed and carefully hugged you.
"You may be a shitty doctor but no one can act as well as you do under pressure and in crisis." He kissed your forehead and you blushed.

"The crowd is gone... maybe we can make a run for it for the ship? I'm scared about the crew..." you hummed.
"Good idea, let's go..."
And just like that, you ran. There were some clutch moments of almost getting captured but you managed to escape. Law had treated both of your wounds so you were both doing better.
Eventually reaching the submarine, you saw your favorite trio on the deck, worried as hell.
"Captain! Y.n!!!!" Bepo cried out.
"Bepo!!!!" You sobbed and hugged the bear. So glad he was okay.

"We were almost killed and chased through the woods but we made it back... it was scary" Shachi spoke.
"Fortunately they lost us in the wood or we'd be fucked" Penguin added.
"Why were they like that?" You questioned.
"Throughout my adventures at sea, i had heard of a cursed island only appearing in random, at different locations. The people on the island are said to be cursed cannibals. Almost like vampires. The sun makes them rot so they wear human like masks and cover their bodies to look normal to trap travelers." Jean Bart spoke.
"Wait wait Law was bit by one of them is he gonna be okay???" You gasped.
"My wounds been feeling a bit itchy..." Law hummed, unwrapping the bandage. The wound looked absolutely disgusting. Blackened veins, purple skin, and a pulsing red thing on top.
"What if it's contagious and you turn into one of them...." you panicked.
"I'll be okay tis but a scratch" he patted your head.
"What's this red thing tho?" Bepo asked.
"Those are actually his veins that have been damaged and popped out." Shachi replied.
It was terrifying and broke your heart seeing him like this.
"A few days from now i can turn it back to normal" Law reassured.
"Wait....where is Zoro-san....?" Penguin questioned and your blood ran cold.
After a thorough search he was found in the storage room, sleeping.
He had slept through the whole thing.
Well at least he wasn't lost on the island right now....

"Well, was gonna celebrate Halloween but lived through the horrors. Costume party is still on tho!" Law declared and everyone cheered. You needed this after all that horror.
Dressing up as a hot vampire to match with Law was fun. There was much food and beverages prepared. As zoro slept the trio painted his hair orange with hair spray and stapled orange leaves made from old jumpers to his hair. When he woke up he was mad but forgot about it when he saw the booze.
Even tho it was a terrifying day the day before, Halloween with the crew was pretty fun! You had your powers back and had the new ability of hiding in the shadows. Life was good right now.
You were all aware of the rough times ahead in Wano, but that was future problems for future you. There was only this moment, only right now, your lover, your friends, the crew.
