Hiccup point of view

This is Berk life here is amazing or at least it was... Until it got really boring It's been three years since the war with the berserkers and since our village has been at peace for three years and it's been great fantastic best years we've ever had the problem is... There's nothing left here for the Dragon riders to do

I mean, don't get me wrong we still are needed to protect the village from any while dragons that find their way here, but other than that, the Dragon riders are kind of broken up we still get along for the most part it's just we've all kind of gone our separate ways snotloud has become gobbler apprentice he's been named official weapons tester... Considering how many injuries he gets I think he should ask for a raise

The twins surprising absolutely no one have dedicated their lives to Loki the God of pranks lucky us fish legs has really found his calling. He's teaching the next generation of the village, how to be the next generation of Dragon riders as well as history lessons and how do identify dragons

Astrid is still with me and the two of us go out nearly every day searching for something new but we've searched everywhere that we know 1000 times and there's nothing new no new dragons no new things to discover there is just us which I guess isn't too bad of a thing

About two years ago, me and Astrid got together romantically. We've been keeping it a secret from everyone else partly because we know how my dad would react and we're not ready for that kind of reaction just yet so in the meantime we've hit our relationship which hasn't been too bad honestly it's been kind of thrilling in a way but usually our searches end with us landing on an island and... Well making out not that I'm complaining I love spending time with her especially when it's just the two of us well excluding storm fly and toothless but I just wish that there was something else out there

I suppose that's how it all started me asking the question to myself. Was there more out there and it turns out I was right so much more more than I could ever hoped for and this is the beginning of the story about how I found so much adventure so much love beyond the horizon

It all started when me and Astrid were finishing with our rounds of the islands... Okay fine we were making out on a small island that was pretty much for ourselves

Narrators point of view

The two Viking teenagers were enjoying the Sun gaze upon them as they looked at each other kissing over a cliff as their dragons played in the background

However, Astrid could tell that something was bothering her secret boyfriend: hiccup what's the matter? You've got that look in your eye again?

Hiccup knew that trying to hide it from her pointless so with a heavy sigh, he explained how he was feeling: honestly Astrid... I'm not doing so great I mean I love spending time together with just the two of us but I kind of miss when you know the dragon riders was a team and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really do kind of miss the bickering of the twins and snotout and believe me, I'm as surprised to say that as you are as surprise for me to say it

Astrid nodded she was surprised but truthfully, she had felt the same way too: yeah I mean don't get me wrong. I love that it's now just the two of us and we can be as lovey-dovey as we want without anyone knowing but I do kind of miss the time when we were a team but hiccup you've gotta understand that everyone's gone their separate ways. They have their own lives now and while some are... More impressive/important than others. It's their choice besides we're still going our own way trying to find new dragons aren't we?

Hiccup: I know it's just it's been three years Astrid three straight years since we found anything new and we've been over all the islands 1000 times over we know all of them like the back of our hand if there was anything new around here I think we would've found it by now. It just feels like... What we're doing doesn't really have any purpose anymore.

Astrid was slightly hurt by what her boyfriend had said, but she couldn't deny it. She was feeling bored with the status quo as it was she also hung for something new something unexplored and in a certain way something dangerous: I know how you feel hiccup but what can we do? We can't exactly just make it a adventure and what are you saying? Don't you want to go out flying anymore?

Hiccup rubbed at the back of his head: that's not what I'm saying, I do want to keep flying around with you exploring it's just I wish there was something new to explore something beyond the horizon but there's not

The female Viking was getting concerned now: hiccup what are you saying?

The one legged dragon rider rubbed the back his head as he stood up: I don't know Astrid maybe it's time that we... Think about... what comes next for us?

Astrid: what do you mean? What's next for us?... Do you want people to know that we're dating?

Hiccups shook his head: no I know that you're not ready for that and neither am I. I just think that maybe the two of us are... well not wasting our time but we could be doing something else. I don't know. It just feels like our exploring days are over. Maybe we should find something else to do.

Astrid nodded. Sadly she didn't want to stop exploring and she could tell it neither did hiccup but he was right on some level. He didn't seem like there was anything left to discover nothing left to explore and the days will be becoming dollar the only good part of their day was when they were alone together, but she missed that thrill of new discovery

Hiccup called toothless over as he climbed up onto his saddle: i'm not saying let's make a decision today. I'm just saying that maybe we need to think about other... possibilities for us.

The female warrior noted as she got on board her dragon and the two then flight off back home on the way they were having a midflight conversation about possible options for the two of them

Astrid: we could join the defence fleet

Hiccup shook his head: not really an option considering that we've been at peace for nearly 3 years... I mean do you think anyone's going to attack us now?

Astrid rest extended the suggestion but she still hold true: well maybe not from around here but who knows? Maybe someone will come from beyond the horizon and attack us.

Hiccup: I guess you're right, but if I had choose, maybe I would go back to being gobbler's apprentice again I have a few inventions. I've been meaning to build maybe that could be something.

Astrid nodded. She knew how creative her boyfriend was: and maybe we could test them... Out on snot loud that would be a good laugh

The two chuckled, even the dragons joined in on the laughter and when it died, the two lovers looked at each other hiccup and Astrid both said at the same time: I love you

The two smiled at each other as they continued flying back home in blissful romantic bliss however their romantic reunion was cut short when Astrid spotted something out on the water. It was Trader Johan and he looked like he had been shipped wrecked mostly because the only thing that seemed to be keeping him afloat was a single block of wood

Hiccup and Astrid came to his rescue picking him up and placing him on the nearest island where they were hoping to get an explanation on why he was out there in the first place: Johan, what happened?

Johan scared stiff grabbed hold of the boys shoulders: it's dagger master hiccup he's out and he's more deranged and crazier than ever and if I remember correctly what he said you are the first on his revenge list

Hiccup got his wish there was a new adventure about to be unfold unfortunately no one ever told him be careful what you wish for
