That's a good question, Fade! Because to be 100% honest, I don't quite remember myself! Quite a bit of the specific details are fuzzy in my mind, cuz this story has been in development for such a long time xD

But I can give a basic idea of how this occurred. I can sort of think as far back as about 2 years ago, on the HermitCraft Amino, a little community on the Amino app that I founded and help manage. Lots of us on there like to do roleplays (especially ones about HC), so I came up with a little idea to have the campaign be from the perspective of the villains! It was a very bare bones sort of thing; barely any lore, I only had a small amount of ideas, it didn't even have a plot. We only ever did one session, but for what I did have, I wanted to extend it further in my free time. I wanted to make a story with villain protagonists, something I had never seen in HermitCraft fanfiction and stories.

And so over about the next year, that's what I did. I used my passion for computer science and programming (the kind of career I wanna pursue in life) to help a lot with the lore and plot, such as hacks, malware, firewalls. Almost all of the lore I have has some sort relation to the computer and tech world.

To test out the storyline, I also started up a new campaign on the HermitCraft Amino with a few close friends. In addition, I got a lot of help from another close friend of mine, Phantasia314. She's an amazing writer, and even though she doesn't know a lot about HermitCraft, she's really invested in the story! So, Phantasia, if you're reading this, thank you so much for helping me for this long! :D

Finally, we're here in the present time. Back in September, I finally finished the plot and lore and characters, got the first chapter written, and published it! And I'm so happy with how well it's been recieved so far, evem though the story's barely even begun!

...so yeah, that's my answer to your question, Fade. Every single paragraph of it xD
