Distantly related to endermen. Live in packs and lack weapons so they prey on tired creatures. They can sense fatigue. Their bites cause hallucinations and have bacteria that can kill it later if the hunt fails. They have sharp teeth but lack a powerful bite. They also have powerful claws used for climbing on both their feet and on their wings. The ones on their feet are also used for delivering a final blow to their prey. When a phantom reaches maturity, they search for mates, and join a pack or start a new one. They live in mountainous caves that are hard to reach on foot.

Young phantoms are covered in fur to make them look more threatening and to also protect them by cushioning their fall when they make a bad decision. They follow adults everywhere and constantly mimic their behavior.

Phantoms usually have to move locations because of prey becoming more aware of them and thus, sleeping more often, making things harder for them. But they will rarely leave if there are young phantoms to take care of. This causes them to prey on much smaller things and when their young are old enough, they'll move.

There is an alpha male and female, the mating and leading pair. Some phantoms choose to stay with the pack when they're old enough to leave or they search for mates. When they choose to stay, they're rank is decided on experience.

Phantoms originally came from the end. They prayed a lot on endermites but they were so successful they ran out of room in the end, endermites became scarce, and they turned against each other. They eventually left to the overworld where food was and still remains plentiful. In the end, elytras made from phantom wings.
