Anxiety

Heyy, I'm back!

Recently at school, we had to write a debate, about whatever we wanted, and as my group's leader (i swear it's because they all want me to do everything because they actually believe in me aww) I decided to write about anxiety.
Technically the motion was "life is better with no anxiety at all"

And i feel like this is worth sharing, I'm honestly proud of what i wrote so i want to share it and hopefully make a difference.

I'll post both sides of the debate because after all, everything has pros and cons, and we need to acknowledge both sides.

But that's not all, I'd like to add some more words.

"when people say anxiety, our minds immediately go to thinking of all the bad things it causes, because that's what we're told. Therapists try to get rid of someone's anxiety, and i believe that's wrong. Everyone says that anxiety is a mental illness, but it's not. Because anxiety is there with us since day one, and it'll never leave! Therapists want to remove the anxiety from you, they even give you meds for it, but does it really affect you? Anxiety will be there nonetheless if you get meds or not. Instead of trying to rid us of anxiety, they should teach us how to cope with it, how to control it, so rather than being depressed and afraid our whole lives, we'll be happier and more safe. They make us fear anxiety, they make it to be the villain of our lives, but they tend to forget just how important anxiety is in our lives! I mean, anxiety comes in many shapes and colors, and let me tell you, without anxiety, we wouldn't have a moral compass, because then we wouldn't care if we did the wrong thing, anxiety is guilt, and without it, we'll just take the wrong path and keep making mistakes and we won't even care. Anxiety is the push we need in life, without it we'd be careless, and we won't plan ahead, we'd destroy our own future. But anxiety is what builds our future, it's the base of our lives!
We shouldn't think of anxiety as a mental illness, more like a guide, harsh at times, but only wants what's best for us. we need anxiety despite what your therapist says. Anxiety is and always will be a part of us, we can't get rid of it, so why fear it? Just learn how to control it and you'll live your life the way you want"

Hope this makes a difference, and i can't thank Thomas sanders enough for shining the light on this subject. I genuinely owe a lot of who i am to him. He taught me a lot, so if you have any troubles, Thomas is your guy.
