Hello dear readers, I am Zahon, the Scribe of Adornia. This will be one of many language and phrases dictionaries. I want to give a better understanding of what some of the words and phrases in the preview chapter mean. As well as a little backstory.

Adornia is a vast place, that unlike Earth, is ever-growing. It is filled with many different creatures some known on Earth, others specific to the world itself. As such there are many different languages and dialects of certain languages. Because of this the more populated kingdom and those kingdoms that have a lot of transactions with other kingdoms will brand their tongues and the tongues of young ones. The brand allows communication over multiple languages.

But as the Scribe, you will sometimes read words that aren't in any human language. Here I will place and describe the meaning of each word and phrase.

The story of Crescent takes place in the high north west of Adornia, in the mountainous regions called Hamop, which literally means Stones or Stony. The region speaks many languages but the one used widely is a northern dialect of old Adornish. Adornish is spoken in literally every kingdom, village or city. Some words change though depending on the place.

Some words never change a few of them are.

Korma = Brother/ Derived from old western Adornish, literally meaning son of my mother.

N'nuku = Why/ Derived from sea maidens, It is written in a form which means. Why do you? It's asking a single person why.

N'nu = Why/ Derived from sea maidens, It's a general version, directed at multiple people.

Ro = Female =She = Her / Derived from old Adorian, Meaning any of the above three depending on the subject use. The word can be added to others to mean Woman, Women, Girl or Girls.

Ora = Male = He = Him / Derived from old Adorian, Meaning any of the above three depending on the subject use. The word can be added to others to mean Man, Men, Boy or Boys.

Some phrases are specific to certain kingdoms. Take Og la for example... Og is derived from the old language of the north mountain trolls. Crescent wolves eradicated the tribe and adopted some of their speech during the process.

Og la = Derived from the Logista North Mountain trolls, Means talk or speech, la is a filler that makes Og change from speech to speaking or from talk, to talking. If you add the word nimo behind Og la, it becomes a question Nimo means exchanging words when used for example like Og la nimo, it translates to Why do you speak, follow with no na hamen, which means strange words or literally foreigners words, and you get...

Og la nimo'no na hamen = Why do you speak in strange tongues/ Why are you talking like that/ Why are you speaking in that language. It's all in translation.

{Some Places, Things, And People}

Adornia = Bountiful Land/ Derived from an ancient Adorian language called Liplo. The world inside the world, Adornia was born in the beginning some hundred years after the fall of man, before the great flood.

Adoria = Beautiful Land/ Derived from Liplo. The Great City, once home to the great human king Ha-nim.

Momuc = Crescent/ Derived from old Logista trolls. The kingdom of the north western wolves. Home to fearsome Alphas and the Beast of Eine.

Logista = A race of mountain Trolls that once roamed the mountains to the east and west of the crescent kingdom.

Ha-nim = Wise Warrior/ Derived from the first language, the language of the three One-Gods. The one true king, legend says one day he will return and raise Adornia to its glory again.

The Three One-Gods = The Mother, Father and Son, creators of all that is, was and will be.

Ha-glom = Wise Moon / Derived from old Elvish the Nisk tribes. The middle moon, the mother of the three moon goddesses, mother of R'aron and daughter of Yopus.

R'aron = Pure heart-Purity / Derived from old Elvish the Nisk tribes. The left moon, the youngest and most loving of the goddesses, the daughter of Ha-glom, grandaughter of Yopus.

Yopus = Powerful-Worthy of fear/ Derived from old Elvish the Nisk tribes. The right moon, one of the oldest goddesses in all of Adornia, created by the three One-Gods.

Wallow = A species of tree found in the high north west and south of Adornian/ The alcohol made from the fruit of the tree is called wollow.

Ba'sia = Fertile land / Derived from the human tribe, Ha-nim'os, meaning children of Ha-nim. Ba'sia is farming lands where most of Crescents food comes from, the breeding farms are also in Ba'sia. The kingdom was surrendered to the Alpha king Avif and his men, (circa 3820) (S) the nation's rise in the Crescent timeline.

Lomoma = Something rare-Something beautiful / Derived from the Logista trolls.

Avif = Warrior-Chosen Warrior / The name given to the king of the Crescent werewolves.

Caros = Wise king / Derived from old Adornish.

Eucalus = Sturdy one / Derived from the unbeatable faerie's of the kingdom's Far East of Crescent a place called Ion-Mors.

Bara = Stern-Mean Botaurus-Cow/ Derived from old Adorian, a name given to babies with a unhappy personality.

Doram = A pretty flower/ Derived from the name given to the allusive winter flower found in the southwest of Adornia, the name is given to children both male and female.

Sari = Silent child / Derived from the unbeatable faerie's of the kingdom's Far East of Crescent a place called Ion-Mors.

Boo = Gentle / Derived from the Ba'sian dialect of Adornish / literally meaning soft.
