            "Jonathan Blackwell"

"Jeremiah Maxwell"

"It's nice to meet you Jeremiah."

"Likewise. How can I help you?"

"I don't need your help. On the contrary I'm here to help miss Jennifer if she would let me"

"She doesn't need help with anything and if she did that's why I'm here. So thank you for your offer" Jeremiah dismissed him then turned to Jennifer "Let's go back inside. I came bearing gifts"

"How's your girlfriend" Jonathan asked making them both freeze.

"You have five seconds to leave this property before I break your face" Jeremiah spit out venomously

"I would like to see you try but I respect Jennifer a lot so I'll leave on my own." he handed Jenna a card which had his name and business number on it. She hesitated but eventually she took it. "Call me if you're interested in my proposal" he said then left.

"Jennifer" Jeremiah started but she cut him short.

"Let's go back inside. I need to make sure the kids have eaten"

"I was going to tell you"

"It's fine"

"Jennifer would you stop and listen to me"

"I said its fine" she snapped turning around to face him. "It's okay."

"Then why are you snapping at me?"

"I'm not..... " she stopped then sighed. "Sorry. That guy whoever he is just got to me."

"Are you sure it's just that or is there something else?"

"No, there is nothing else. I'm really sorry"

"Okay. Come here" she walked in to his outstretched arms and breathed him in. She'd missed how nice he smelled. Like Chloe this was the first time she'd seen him ever since their divorce. They talked on the phone and he sent presents and letters with Zoe but he'd never visited her until that day. As always in his arms she felt safe. Just because they were divorced didn't mean her feelings had gone away. That was not how love worked. You didn't stop loving someone when you left them. Admittedly she was a little hurt that he'd moved on so quick but then again he was a free man who could date whoever he wanted.

But was one year enough to forget someone you vowed to love for the rest of your life? How much time did one take to get over the love of your life? Did you ever get over them? Those were the questions that plagued Jenna. Every time she met a man who was interested in her, she would always took a step back and analyze herself. Was it too soon to date? Or was she just being a coward? Jeremiah tightened his arms around her and she remembered she was still hugging him. She was getting comfortable in his arms when he had a girlfriend back at home. She looked up at him and stepped back. This wasn't right. She wasn't supposed to find comfort in him but then again how was she supposed to act around her ex husband?

"I wanted to tell you myself" he said staring down at her.

"It's fine, really. Let's go check on the kids" she walked away leaving Jeremiah to follow her. If there was one thing he knew was that when a woman said "She was fine" it meant she wasn't fine at all. That stupid Jonathan had beat him to telling Jenna about Daniella and now she was shutting him out. He was hoping to break it to her slowly but now it was out of his hands. He considered breaking up with Daniella because he didn't want Jenna being mad at him. He still loved her. Whatever he did, wherever he went he always thought about her. His body still craved her and the only reason he even tried to move on was because he knew one day she would go back to him. When all the pain, the bad memories were nothing but just that. Memories. Then maybe fate would allow them to be together again and he would do his best to not mess it up again. But now? Now he had to date other people and pretend he was moving on.

"Who washed their hands first?"

"I did." both Harrison and Stella raised their voices.

"Tommy ice cream is waiting for you when you're done"

"How did you know?" Zoe asked looking impressed.

"The only time Tommy doesn't fight for anything he's earned is when Stella is the other person. And Harrison lies shamelessly. I bet he was the last one to wash his hands." Jenna said moving to the kitchen to wash her hands. Jeremiah was right beside her.

"Wow you really know these kids that well?"

"They are really easy to love. And I have to keep up with their antics or they'll burn this house to the ground"

"You don't have to worry about that. You know I'll buy you another one immediately" Jeremiah spoke up making the twins burst into laughter while the kids looked around confused.

"Seriously Jere you're still dishing out lines?" Chloe asked amidst her laugh

"Shut up Chloe." Jenna said then turned to Jeremiah "And I don't need you to take care of me anymore. I'm not your wife" It came out more harshly than she'd intended it to but he needed to stop jumping in and trying to save her whenever he thought she was in trouble.

"Burn" Chloe murmured under her breath but they all ignored her.

"It doesn't matter what you think. I'll always help you even when you claim to not need my help" he said then picked up Magnolia and sitting her on his lap he grabbed a plate filling it with food.

"You smell so nice" Magnolia whispered to him making him smile.

"You would too if you showered everyday" Harrison piped in.

"I do shower everyday" she protested even though she hadn't showered yet that particular day.

"Yeah that's why you smell so nice too" Harrison scoffed earning himself a jab in the rib from Tommy.

"If you're done please go to your rooms and take a bath. You were rolling around in the grass not long ago and I'm sure you're filthy. All of you" Jenna said sitting at the head of the table. She realized that Jeremiah could've sat there but he didn't. Instead he chose to sit on her left side where Magnolia had been sitting. She didn't want to think about it so she concentrated on her food.

"We can share my ice cream" she heard Tommy tell Stella.

"You're the best Tom" Stella squealed hugging a blushing Tommy. It was sweet how he always thought of Stella first before himself. This was young innocent Love that was at its purest. It was also why Jenna wanted to protect them. She wanted to preserve their innocence and their ability to see life in a positive note. Their happiness meant she was doing it right. And that in turn made her feel like she had a purpose in life.

Two days. That's how long Jonathan had waited for a call from Jenna. He'd kept his phone with him all the time, jumping to answer whenever it rang hoping it was her. His colleagues had given him weird looks because of how he was acting. By Saturday he had made up his mind to go seeking her out. Patience wasn't one of his virtues especially when he wanted something. Although deep down he knew Jenna didn't need his help he still chose to pressure her into accepting his offer. He had his reasons and he hoped to God no one ever found out.

"Going somewhere?"

"Mind your own business Lukas"

"Why boss man, you almost sound defensive" Lukas retorted eyeing him.

"And it's like you're looking to have all your teeth knocked out boy" Jonathan said feeling irritated. He hated that Lukas had caught his defensiveness. He didn't want to raise alarms but he also didn't want anyone finding out about Jenna.

"Nah. Forget it man I really like my face so I'm going to go stalk someone else"

"Good choice. And Lukas?" he called out to the boy who was already walking away. "You didn't see me leave" he nodded then left. Jonathan was not someone he wanted to cross so if he said something, you scrambled to fulfill his wishes. If he wanted to be invisible, then no one saw him. Even if he was right in front of your face.

Standing outside the small restaurant Jonathan looked at his surroundings making sure he wasn't followed then walked inside. "Fancy seeing you here" he said to the woman in front of him.

Jenna turned around and rolled her eyes "Are you stalking me now?"

"I'm offended you would think that about me"

"Cut the crap Jonathan. What do you want?"

"We're on first name basis now. I like that Jennifer" leaning against the counter he raked his eyes all over her body. Jenna took a step back not liking the way he was looking at her. More so she didn't like how it made her feel.

"What do you want?"

"I want to help you."

"I don't need your help."

"Don't be so quick to discard my help. I grew up in the streets and I wish there was a place I could have taken refuge. Your house is giving kids on the streets hope. There is talk going around about how nice you are and willing to take anyone in. I didn't have that but now that I have money I would like to help. Besides in my experience you can never have enough money."

"Why do you want to help me so much?" His speech was good but Jenna was sure he had an ulterior motive.

"I just told you why" Jonathan replied feigning ignorance.

"That's all?" he shrugged. "I don't believe you. I think you're after something and sooner or later I'll find out what it is"

She was sharp. He had to give her that. "Alright you caught me. I just want to get to know you" pushing off the counter he buttoned his suit jacket. From the corner of his eye he saw Jeremiah approaching them and since he was trying to fly under the radar he decided to leave before they made a scene. "Call me or I'll just hope to bump into you some other place" and with that he left.

"What did he want?" Jeremiah growled beside Jenna who's eyes were still glued on Jonathan's retreating back.

"Nothing." she said walking over to their table.

"Are you sure he wasn't bothering you?"

"No Jeremy. And I'm not a damsel in distress that needs saving every time a guy approaches me."

"I know that....." he started but she cut him off

"Then stop hovering over me all the time." she snapped at him. Jeremiah stopped wondering why she was mad all of a sudden. Before she reached their table, he grabbed her elbow and led her to a corner in the back. "Jeremy"

"You're mad at me" it wasn't a question. Just an observation.

"Why would I be mad at you?" Jenna asked hugging her stomach.

"I don't know. Is this about Daniella?"

"Who?"

"Stop acting dumb. We both know you know who Daniella is. Is that why you're mad? Because I didn't tell you about her?"

"No. We're divorced now and I don't expect anything from you."

He groaned feeling frustrated "That doesn't mean I don't care about you. You know I'll always love you Jennifer. Just because we aren't together doesn't mean I stopped caring" he said tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

Jenna sighed for the millionth time that day. Jeremiah was right. She was mad at him when she had no reason to be. She'd told him to move on with his life and now that he had she was snapping at him for no reason at all. "I'm sorry." she said looking at down at her shoes.

"It's fine. Unlike you I don't know how to be mad at you" he joked caressing her face. They smiled at each other then went back to the table where Gracie was concluding her speech on why greens were a healthy choice. Judging from the eyes rolling around the table, no one appreciated that bit of information.

"You're back. Wes wants to see you" Pasquale told Jonathan who raised his eyebrows.

"Why?"

"You ask me like I'd actually know why. Come on Jon half the time I don't know what you guys talk about."

"Okay. Is the new shipment here yet?"

"Coming in at midnight."

"Good. Get ready to transfer it to the warehouse. I don't want a repeat of last time"

"You got it boss" saluting him Pasquale left.

"You asked for me?" Jonathan asked entering the office after knocking once. He was the only one who did that.

"Wolf. Take a seat. How have you been?" Wes leaned back in his chair studying him. His gaze was unnerving but Jonathan was used to hiding his feelings. In their line of work they couldn't afford to display any type of emotion even if it was in front of colleagues.

"I don't believe you're asking me that because you care so get to the point Wes"

"No beating around the bush. That's why you're the face of this organization Wolf. Who's this woman you've been seeing?"

"Now you're having me followed?" Jonathan asked carelessly as if he didn't care but inside he was fuming

"Ah. I see" Wes said even though he really didn't see anything. "Is she that important?"

"No. She runs a few houses that helps children who need a place to stay and I offered her my assistance because I know what it's like to live in the streets. Besides its good for us to associate ourselves with a charitable organization"

"Okay" Wes replied dismissing him. But when Jonathan was at the door he added "There is a reason you've survived this long Wolf. Our enemies know you don't have anything to lose, therefore, fear you more. Don't change that for anything or anyone" opening the door, he left.

He, more than anyone, knew what had happened for people to fear him that way. He had nightmares because of it. After all he didn't gain the name Lone Wolf for nothing. He'd paid a price for it and now if he wasn't careful the past was going to repeat itself.

Uh so yeah. There you have it. Hit me people.  I don't mean literally, I wanna hear what you guys think. Do we want more of Jeremiah or Jonathan? A Good Person was all about Jenna. Here she's in the middle of it but it's not about her.
