What They Did Wrong
As the swirls gradually faded away, the Go Jetters found themselves in a dark, dimly-lit room. Where the only light source came from many scattered glowing flakes on the ceiling, making it look like stars in the night sky. For a minute, the Jetters thought that they were dreaming, like everyone has been telling them these past few days, considering their surroundings seemed so unreal. But their theory was proven wrong when Kyan ran into a wall, hoping it would break and he and the others would wake up, yet it actually hurt when he crashed into it.
"Now what?" Foz asked, now knowing that they weren't dreaming.
"Who put us in here?" Kyan demanded, pounding on the wall he just crashed into while rubbing his arm at the same time.
"I did." Came a familiar voice. The group looked behind them to find the Ghost of Christmas Present, his orange eyes looking distant and hazy, "and punching that wall won't help you, Kyan, it'll only make things worse for you."
Kyan huffed, crossing his arms and pouting.
"But for now, just watch what I'm about to show you. And observe the events," said the Ghost. He snapped his fingers, and the scene dissolved slowly...
"Night one..." the Ghost's faint voice whispered.
The room where they were standing suddenly changed entirely. They were no longer standing in a misty room, but they were now standing somewhere dimly familiar...
They were standing in the living room of the very house they were in a few moments ago!!
And just as they were trying to digest the events that had just occurred in that last split second, they were interrupted by a series of shouting voices.
"Everyone knows it's my turn." Said Foz.
"No way, you all know it's my turn." Said Kyan.
"You went last year. It's ladies' turn this time." Xuli interjected.
"Can we just stop before this triggers a fight..?" Lars chirped.
"Shut up, Lars!" The other three snapped.
"O-okay..." Said Lars, cowering in the corner.
They saw themselves, on the very night the events began, when they first started yelling at each other over the star. Lars was in the corner, looking terrified. Xuli, Kyan, and Foz were in the center of the room, yelling their lungs out. Tim and Lily, who looked like outsiders at that very moment, were cowering at the corner, eyes wide with shock and worry. But they didn't stay there long; they had run off two seconds later to get Ubercorn.
The scene dissolved again...
"Night two..." The ghost said.
They were standing in the living room again, this time with Bailey on the couch, holding the cursed book, and themselves on the floor.
"It's okay Bailey, you can continue tomorrow night." Said Ubercorn, them to the Go Jetters he said, "so...what do you think, you four? Does this story sound familiar to you?"
The four teens looked at each other.
"Yeah, Foz, you're the bookworm. Do you know what happened?" Kyan said in a teasy tone.
Foz glared at the gymnast.
"Just because I'm a bookworm doesn't mean I can reference books to real life." He snapped.
And quicker than one can blink, the four got into yet another lion-like fight. The wounds seared and the blood flowed.
The Jetters watched each other fight, now starting to look terrified at the sight of themselves fighting each other like lions. Their eyes grew wide on the sight of how brutally they fought.
"Please!! No more!!" Foz suddenly yelled, curling up into a ball.
The others didn't object. They wanted this to end as desperately as the genius did.
"There is much more," The ghost's voice said again, "but because you want this to end so badly, I will only show you one more."
The scene dissolve once more...
They were in the living room once again, their past selves bruised and battered. Ubercorn stood at the corner of the room, hooves folded, and his face wearing a frown. Next to him stood Kyle --who was carrying little Ace--, Bailey --who was equally tired and confused--, and Tim and Lily --who were bandaging the wounds, though without much success--.
"Thanks, but as I said: What's going on?"
"The Go Jetters are fighting like mad." Said Ubercorn, pointing at the four teens.
"What happened?" Bailey asked them.
"Kyan doesn't wanna share!" Foz said.
"No way! It's Xuli who doesn't wanna share!!!" Kyan snapped.
"Hey!!! You're the greedy one!!" Xuli said sharply.
"Guys, can't we just-?" Lars began.
"SHUT UP LARS!!!!!!!!!" The other three yelled.
"Okay..." said Lars shyly.
"Share what?" Said Bailey, folding her arms.
"THE STAR!!" Shouted the younger three Go Jetters.
"Is it seriously that important?!" Bailey said solemnly.
"Yeah!!" Xuli snapped in return.
Without anyone saying anything, the scene dissolved once again, and they were back in the starlit room the Ghost had taken them to before. They were standing in a circle, everything they had just watched recording over and over in their heads. The Ghost of Christmas present soon appeared in front of them.
"Did you enjoy the show?" He asked them.
There was a joined answer in: "No!" "No way!!" "Not one bit!!" "Never again!!"
"Well, hopefully you've learnt a little something from it," said the Ghost, "so I didn't have to show you this in vain."
It was then that Lars noticed something in the Ghost's arm, hidden between the robes; a raggedy, torn blanket, which appeared to be holding something inside. Something squirming and alive...
The Ghost saw Lars looking at the blanket. "Want to know what's inside?" He asked him.
Lars was taken aback by how quickly the Ghost figured out that he was looking, but quickly got over it as he said, "Yes, please."
The Ghost said nothing but moved his robes, revealing the blanket. The other Jetters eyed it suspiciously as he uncovered the layers.
And what was underneath was an image that the four were never able to get rid of.
A small child lay inside the blanket, its tiny body was just as raggedy as the blanket. But it wasn't its body that made the Jetters cringe, it was the face. It was truly gruesome, with wrinkles and rotten skin all over it, looking like maggots have been working on it for weeks...no, months. It looked like the face of an elderly person was taken off and put on the child for whatever reason.
"I-is that..." Xuli hesitated, " thing...yours..?"
"No," The Ghost answered, "this creature..." he added, looking down at the child, "Represents your greed. He's been battered these past few days by none other than your actions. So beware."
The Jetters were taken aback by the Ghosts' words, but before any of them can say another word, a bright green light emitted from the Ghost, engulfing everyone in light.
For a moment or so, there was nothing but whiteness around them.
When they opened their eyes again, they were back where they were. It seemed like they didn't move an inch, and the echo from the clock chiming didn't fade yet.
This time, the Jetters stayed silent, and went right to sleep. They hoped that the others would believe them...

The potion wore off just as Kyle's feet were trodden on the ground. He looked down in his arms, where Ace lay, now back to normal, then he looked up, where everyone else was looking at him, their smiles wide.
"So?" Bailey asked, her eyes not leaving the door to the teens' room.
"It was amazing," said Kyle, "They really did seem to soak it up," he sighed, "But not as much as I intended..."
Bailey put a hand on his shoulder, grateful that she could feel it again, and said, "It's alright. I didn't expect them to soak it all up in just a couple of nights. Besides, we're not out of the game yet...
I still have to do my part."
