VERSION II - PART 2
"Rockstar Manohar?" she said in disbelieve.
"That's me," he said, reducing the distance between them to almost a couple of feet. His gaze never left hers even for a second.
Her eye spoke so much that he wanted to know about them. He wanted to listen to them, listen to her... sweet voice. To know her and much more, the intense feeling was somewhat silly at the same time he felt it deep. He felt it was important and he needed to know her but the time was an enemy for them at the moment.
"Will you wait for me till I get back?" Manohar asked with hesitation, the guts he had when he brought her to the backstage flew away in mere second as she looked at him with no expression.
He feared she might leave the room and run away immediately. He didn't want her to say no, he waited but the constant pounding on the door was forcing him to leave her without him knowing her answer.
Anuradha stood there, perplexed as thousands of emotions running in her. She couldn't bring herself to say a single word, her whole being turned numb. Anuradha simply stared at him.
He sighed, "I hope to see you when I come back," with that said he ran out closing the door behind.
Anuradha's rapid heartbeat wasn't letting her to even speak, she had not moved even an inch since he left the room. Nothing brought her out of her trance, not that sound vibration from the loud music outside nor the constant ringing of her phone.
She stood there stupefied.
Announcing a sudden change of plan in the concert after five songs, Manohar left the stage leaving behind his disappointed fans. For the first time, he did not care about breaking his fans heart for he didn't want his break to be broken when he finds her not there. Nevertheless, he got himself prepared to see an empty room.
"Hey! What's wrong?" Manoj managed to ask him a quickie.
"I think I found someone I might have an interest. I should get to her before she leaves," was his answer.
Rushing back to the room, he waited for a second taking a deep breath his hand held the cold steel door knob. Slowly, he pushed the lever down, cracking open the door. There she sat on the couch fidgeting with her fingers. Anuradha stood up the moment he entered the room.
"Hey!" His greeting came out as mere whisper as his heart did a skip.
"I thought you left" he said softly.
"I couldn't" was the only word she said without breaking their eye contact.
"You know what, maybe we should get out of here?" he said.
Was it the fact that she finally gets to leave the small room or going out with her favourite Rockstar, she didn't know but his words excited her?
Her excitement was evident visible in her eyes, he did not wait for her to answer instead he took out his jacket, kept it safely in its case and grabbed his hoody. They headed out of the concert arena through the back door.
Anuradha couldn't believe her fate today, she was supposed to be enjoying the concert with her two friends instead she was with her most favourite Rockstar in his car going where? She didn't care.
In the car ride, Manohar stole glances from her at every passing traffic signals. Though she noticed it, Anuradha ignored it. There were weird feelings in her, like butterflies in her tummy, her heart doing somersaults and her lips were doing excessive stretch exercise.
Though she did not care, Anuradha was curious to where he was bringing her to.
Finally, the drive came to stop in front of an ice cream parlour. "This is my favourite place. The last time I came here was before the success of the Wings first album. Since, then it became almost impossible to get here without someone tailing me." He said with a laugh. "And now that those knew me are there at the concert, I'm free to come here and wanted to bring you here."
Anuradha stared at the fancy ice-cream parlour. The bright colourful light twinkled in her eyes.
"Like ice cream?" he asked as they stood before a variety of ice-cream flavours.
"Love them" she gave a contented smile while eyeing the ice creams.
"Do you always do this?" she asked once they were settled at one of the empty tables.
"Do what?"
"Bringing random fans out like this."
"Do I look like that?"
She shrugged, "I don't know."
"Okay, tell me, what you like about Manohar from the Wings?" He turned curious to know what she thinks about him. Suddenly, his impression on her mattered.
"I think he is very genuine, he loves his fans, talented, humble..." list of what she thinks of him kept growing till she almost forgot to whom she was talking to and Manohar wasn't getting tired of her never-ending list. He was listening to her as if she was telling him a story. His story, precisely.
"And I love him for who he is," she said smiling and almost regretting for saying that when her eyes met a pair of unrelenting stare, their held their gaze for some time before Anuradha averted.
A moment of silence passed as each were trying to bring up something to talk about after her awkward fan moment. She thought about the jacket he wore, "thanks for wearing the jacket. I was worried if it reached you," she said, breaking the silence.
"How can I not wear it? It's a beautiful gift from my fan. From you." He smiled widely as her eyes widened in surprise.
"How did you know it was me?" she asked.
Manohar only smiled remembering a note that came with it. This gift was supposed to be anonymous. But we decided to hide the name of the sender which is our dear friend but sending you a picture of her with us. She will be very happy if you share about the gift in your social media. From friends of your huge fan, Cam & Chris.
"I just guessed... and because you randomly thanked me for wearing it" he grinned.
"Funny," she pouted and looked away wondering how the hell did he knew it was she who sent the jacket. Anuradha knew she did not mention about her in the parcel, then how?
Manohar cleared his throat and asked, "So, what's your name?"
"Why don't you make a guess? You guess the gift was from me. I'm sure you could do this too," she answered dancing her brows.
"Woah... Okay, this is going to be a tough one," he muttered.
"Just try. If you guess it correct, then...?" she paused for a second thinking for a reward but he beat her speed.
"You go out with me for a second time," he snapped his finger and pointed at her with a brow arched.
"Fine." She agreed thinking he wouldn't get it right.
"hmm..." Manohar took his time trying to get a name. He looked around to find an inspiration for her name. Then he remembered his mother who had left him and her loved once a year ago.
"My mother was an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna,"
"Ahha..., so, that's why she named you Manohar, the enchanter," she commented, wiggling her fingers as if drawing magic in the air.
"Absolutely!
So, she an adherent Sri Krishna bakth, she used to pray for my protection from the evil's eyes. You are no devil's angel, I presume," she frowned with a smile.
"Well, I feel nervous. I want you to go out with me for the second time and I need to get this right," his mumbles made her laugh out loud.
"Shall I help you out? Don't bother about the reward, I'll definitely will go with you,"
"No! I took the challenge. Wait, this is going to sound silly.
If I am Manohar, you must be... Radha?" he said partially doubtful with his guess.
Anuradha's fell completely silent, dumb struck. She simply stared at him as if he was wrong which he wasn't.
Is he a magician? she thought.
The loud ringtone from her mobile pulled her out of her stupor state.
"Hello" she answered pressing the phone on her cheeks which accidentally got the speakers turned on. She jumped out of her skin as the phone fell from her hand when the person on the other side of the line shouted.
"ANURADHA! Where the hell are you?" She tried to catch the phone as though it was just taken out from the oven. Quickly, she turned the speaker off and answered the call.
Should he thank the caller because this confirmation was way more exciting and any kind of confirmation could ever do.
Manohar couldn't get hold of his excitement any longer, he smiled ear to ear as he had guessed her name at the first attempt. 'She is probably the angel mom has sent for me' he thought looking out the sky thanking his mom.
Anuradha gave a sheepish smile as soon as ending the call.
"Well..., that's was a smart guess. You actually guessed it right. Are you some kind of sorcerer?" she asked, amused over the trick he had pulled twice.
"I think I just turned to a sorcerer" he replied as he watched her blush.
"Radha." Her being called by him suddenly sounded sweeter than it already was, she smiled as a respond.
Though he knew this is too soon to make a decision for something big in his life, Manohar felt maybe she could be the one and he did not want to miss her. "Radha, this may sound carzy but will your list of what you think of singer Manohar and the love for him be the same for me?"' he asked, a complex yet a simple question.
"But both are the same person, right?" she wasn't able to comprehend.
"That Manohar is Rockstar Manohar. I wish to be Radha's Manohar but only if Radha agrees to spend more time knowing this Manohar," he said, his gaze fixate on her, not eyes but her soul. The glow he saw in her wasn't just any glow, she was an angel sent by his mother. For him.
Radha. The new light to his life.
There wasn't any need to exchange words when the soul had found its other half. Though it knew its soulmate, there were a lot of exploration and learning to do along the way to carve a beautiful path.
The random act she did had taken a turn in her life which she never asked for though have always dreamt about it. To consider she was lucky was underrated, she could have merely pulled anyone and it would have ended up with a sorry but this, did not happen that way.
Nevertheless, she was happy to meet him in person and she will get a chance to know him personally, now.
People say good things happens at the right time, Manohar and Anuradha were no exception to that. A random act, a random person among thousands of people and they were destined to be met that way.
Love blooms even in the middle of a music festival.
