Chapter 8

Maaga kaming umuwi ni Alonzo habang ang mga magulang niya ay nagpaiwan. Alonzo's sleepy made me sign in relief at least makakaalis na ako roon I'm tired sitting there alone. May mga lumalapit mostly lalake pero dahil sa pagod ako wala akong nakausap na maayos.

Monday morning pumasok akong maaga. Pagkapunta ko sa room doon ako nagpahinga.

I can't sleep last night dahil may nag-email sa akin inviting me to a wedding. It was Monica, a friend of mine well that's what she thought but I never been a friend to her.

She isn't even worried na bakasabotahin ko wedding niya. Hays.

"Hi" someone said. I looked at that someone direction and it is Paolo smiling to me. I smiled back.

"Ah hello" at naglakad ako ulit, sumabay naman siya sa akin.

"Naghintay ako sa Canteen noon pero hindi ka natuloy bakit?"

"May emergency lang"

"Anong nangyari? Bakit nagkaemergency?" he sounded worried. Though pati ba naman yun kailangan niyang malaman

"Okay listen, my friend got pregnant and I'm the one who help her during her labor that's the reason kaya hindi ako na ka punta
sana maintindihan mo". he nodded over and over. Psh muka siyang tanga naniwala naman.

"Then, can I see you later in the canteen?" I nodded para matapos na.

Everytime we talk gustong kong mabilis lang maybe I'm not comfortable the way he looked at me.

Pag si Chandler naman gust- wait! Maureen don't compare! No comaparing Maureeeen.

I pouted. Hmmp.

Baliw na siguro ako. Hayss. Look what you've done to my system Prince.

The discussion went well. Nothing special happened in the class today. May nagbuyog-buyogan pero wala namang bago roon, may mga hindi pa nakuntito kay Pennywise at Joker at ginawang amusement park ang mukha nila. May nagsisigawan, may mga masamang tumitingin rin sa akin as if I care.

Hindi ko parin maintindihan ang Classes na ginagawa ng school na ito.

Even I'm in Class A I don't think it benefits me. Kahit sa loob ng classroom halo-halo parin naman may mga Class B, Class C so what's the point?

Well pagkapunta ko sa Canteen, there I saw how this classes benefits me. There are different stool in every Classes.

Aside from that iniba rin ang bilihan ng nasa Class A which the foods there are more healthy and delicious mas marami rin ang pagkain sa Class A compared to other Classes.

I saw Paolo waving at me. He's sitting at the round couch with the other Class A. The table has a name on it which determines the classes. So this is the hierarchy. hmm.

Everyone is now staring at Paolo and then me which is kinda awkward but then again I reminde myself that once a witch always a witch so I didn't mind and go for what I want.

Ngumiti lang ako sa kanya at lumapit na rin doon.

Pagkaupo ko saka kulang nakita si Prince nairitadong tumingin sa akin.

I sat beside a girl who has the biggest smile yung iba kasi plastic yung ngiti.

Though I don't need people like them. I am okay being alone than with this masked folks.

"Hi" ika niya. "I'm Erica Blanca and you are Maureen right? You're really pretty. Kaya hindi na nakakapagtaka na bukang bibig ka ni Paolo now we knew hahaha" tumawa na rin ako para may pakisama naman.

Other laughs some still looking at me with weird looks, some felt disgusted though it was fine but Prince glares made me stiff.

Kahit anong pang saya na makikita mo sa ibang tao ngunit yung taong gusto mo hindi naman masaya para sayo balewala na rin lahat iyun.

B-b-but wait? G-Gusto? Like what the f? noo! It will never be! Ugh!! Kung may gugustuhin man ako hindi si Chandler yun .

Crush lang, crush ko lang si Prince may malaking kaibahan sa dalawang salitang iyun. I can't like someone like him.

I can't afford to lose again.

Paolo sat beside me and I hated that he's clingy, he put his hands at the top of my hand and come closer to me.

I glared to him and I was about to pull my hand when another hand pulled mine away from Paolo. It was Chandler.

He's looking at me intently.

"Excuse us" he said

I'm already standing and we are about to go when Paolo held my other hand and pulled closer to him.

What with this jerks!

Chandler stop and look at Paolo then to my other hand. He's looking with those daggers flying away from his eyes to Paolo.

"Dude, she's mine! I just wanted to talk to her." huh? When did I become yours Paolo?

Hindi siya pinakinggan ni Chandler instead he pulled my hand which Paolo's holding. O-Ouch!

Ngayon ay hawak na niya ang dalawang kamay ko and I'm facing him while Paolo is at my back.

"Aray! Nasasaktan ako" ng marining niya iyun binitawan naman niya ang dalawang kamay ko at tumitig sa akin.

"Sorry. Come on let's eat on the other table" he said softly. I nodded to him.

"But why? Class A seat is here" Paolo said.

"Don't mind Chandler, and let me eat in peace" tumabi ako kay Blanca habang titig pa rin si Chandler sa akin however Paolo sat again next to me and now his hands is in my lap caressing it slowly. I was about to hit his face when Chandler did it first.

"OH MY GOSH!" the girls shouted.

Chandler punched Paolo on his face twice. Paolo was about to hit him also when another guy stop him.

"Lay wag kang makialam dito!" Paolo said to Lay the one who stop him.

"Stop it both of you! Maureen pwede bang sa iba ka nalang kumain?" Lay said habang masamang tumingin sa akin. I nodded to him at nahihiyang umalis.

I heard this from a movie before. "The truth is, some people seem to function to show you what isn't right for you. And others show you exactly what it is." That's what I felt now. Nakakapangliit.

At the first place I should eat at the tree I've spotted before not being here with people who don't want me.

What all those have in common is, they will judge you before knowing what's really and worthy in you.

Maybe this is another reason why I'm always with books. They are more alive and worthy than most people I know. Even people I should have never known.
