19• Our blinded love
A REPORT ON NOEL VON PARSCHEL.
Noel Von Parschel is a soft-spoken and logical perfectionist. A people pleaser who dislikes physical contact with strangers and coffee. He also has a good memory and appeared good at ball dancing. Oh, Noel likes spicy wings, sweets, herbal tea and pineapple flavoured food. At first, he seemed like an entitled spoiled, rich brat, but his stubbornness compliments the passive dominance.
Noel is an excellent pianist. Although, I heard that he got his first piano instructor after he began speaking at the age of eight. That must have been hard for him because of his father's death and the terrible relationship with his mother. Actually, Noel was born with a weak body — I overheard about him being a hybrid.
It's an idea; I think that his father's experiment might have had something to do with it. After all, he accepted that he had experienced pheromone imbalances when young. Apparently, house Li and house Chester helped in the experiment. Oh, Evangeline and Noel's future engagement is fake — confirmed information. Evangeline seemed to be dating Chantel.
I have some doubts about this, but it appears that Noel isn't the real heir to house parschel. With the lack of verification, I have no further information to provide. If the information isn't to your satisfaction, please leave my father out of it and enquire with me. I'm willing to provide more in future.

"I have only a day left." Ever since last night, I felt the warmth that lingered throughout the house. Although, finishing the preparation for school, my attention was on the piece of paper on the desk. The report on Noel, which I forced myself to prepare before classes commenced.
My fingers traced the thin-layered envelope until I felt the sharp pain on my skin, which caused me to curse. "The words are already leaving a scar on my hand." I quickly sealed it, then wrapped the document; thereafter, throwing it into my bag. Even though the words were roughly written on paper, my mind seemed to have memorized everything.
The final departing siren echoed in the classroom when my classmates hurriedly packed their bags and rushed out of the room. Of course, with the tiresome activities of the day being over, numerous teens began preparations for the weekend. As the noise began louder, others started recording their vlogs whilst the sports players went to the courtrooms. I was about to pack my books when my phone buzzed.
"Hey." I whispered, a little excited that Noel called me, although, absent for classes. "I thought you might be busy."
"Hm. I'm not very occupied, my fitting ended an hour ago." He paused, then sighed. "How was the family gathering?"
"It went well, and my parents appear to be building a healthier relationship." I giggled.
"That's great. I missed you." My fingers curled the page of the open book, then traced the cover. I could feel the heat in my cheeks when I hummed softly to his tired voice.
"I missed you, m— more." Suddenly, my gaze was fixed on Linyu walking toward my desk. For a moment, the smile that I had was replaced by a cold frown and an ache in my throat. Clearing my throat, I forced the brightest tone that I could master. "I'll call after an hour."
"I might be busy by then." Noel clicked his tongue before whispering, "should I visit in the evening?"
"What? No!"
"Great, I'll be home at six o'clock."
"I said n— damn, he ended the call." I smacked the phone on the book. When my attention was off Noel, I slowly took the envelope out of the bag and placed it in front of Linyu, who seemed dazed. As though doubtful, he pulled the chair from the front desk before sitting beside me.
"You've finally prepared it." Linyu smiled after fanning himself with the envelope. I could feel the mockery and sarcasm in his tone when he placed it on the table. "I hope the information will be useful."
"I tried my best." No, I didn't, but I wouldn't admit it. Thereafter, my thumbs rubbed and for a second, my gaze shifted to Noel's desk. He had informed me earlier that we would be meeting tonight, yet I couldn't feel the excitement anymore — was it because of the report?
"It doesn't matter, after all, you would've been a temporary girl in his life." My eyes widened when Linyu placed his cold hands on my shoulder. Momentarily, I shifted in my seat, then looked at the books on the table. "It would be a shame, but that's how spoiled brats are."
"No, Noel isn't such a person." I mumbled.
"You are so naive." Suddenly, the quiet room was filled with laughter, which caused me to shiver. Thereafter, a cocky smirk replaced his expressionless face before his fingers traced the back of my neck. "Anyways, good job." I uncomfortably shivered when his hand rubbed my curls before placing his lips on my forehead.
"Don't touch me!" Pushing him away, I quickly picked up the books, then rushed out of class with my bag barely hanging on my shoulders. Luckily, classes were over, and I had no intention of attending extracurricular activities.
I pressed the music player before the song played as I cleared up my room. Every single beat making my body move recklessly when a bright smile spread across my face. In no time, the lyrics were on the tip of my tongue as bright lights highlighted my face. Singing along to the song and clearing the fan arts of Noel made me feel free from public idolization. Yet, a part of me wished that I kept them stuck on the walls.
Several hours later, I got dressed up and waited whilst staring at the stars with a cup of coffee in between my palms. Eventually, the phone buzzed when a message popped on the screen. Meet me outside. It read.
"Finally." Placing the cold cup on the study table, I rushed toward the door, then down the stairs. Although I had been anxious lately about meeting him, the message brought back my excitement and my eyes beamed as my racing heartbeat made me bite my lips with anticipation.
Taking a deep breath, I pulled the door and watched Noel walk inside — already used to the house, I guessed. Consciously, my gaze narrowed on the designer clothes that he had on, which seemed like he rushed over after the photo shoots. "I brought some cookies and milk for papa." He placed the carrier bag on the dining table, "he said his insomnia is worsening."
"How did you know that?" I gasped. "I've been making warm, chocolate milk every night."
"You know, I'm good at communicating with people." He playfully smirked, then walked toward the living room. Although, it irritated me when Linyu walked around the house, but for him, I felt satisfied that he could freely move about without restrictions. It seemed that he felt more comfortable after having met my father. "By the way, is your father around?"
"No, off to work."
"Great!" Immediately, Noel rested on the couch, then closed his eyes. "Today was tiresome. Moreover, it was boring and I dislike the brand." The tiredness was evident in his voice, although it was merely a whisper. Subsequently, I walked toward his resting form and knelt beside him — my fingers gently rubbing his hair. "Hm? What are you doing?"
"Massaging your head?" I tilted my head when he chuckled, "isn't it good?"
"Well, depends on what I'm comparing with; your hands are softer and gentler than my beauty therapist." Noel's hands grabbed mine before directing the clockwise rubbing of my thumbs. "But, your technique is generally awful."
"If it's terrible, then teach me how to do it," I paused, then nervously bit my bottom lip. "In the way that pleases you."
Immediately, his eyes were fixed on mine before a smile crossed his face; slowly shifted his body until his face was closer to my collar. "When you say such things, it makes me want to..." His fingers traced the lining of my shoulder 'till the back of my neck, moving my face closer to his before whispering. "Bend you over the couch."
I gasped, then felt the warmth on my face worsen; my gaze shifting to his lips. "Why don't you do it?" I could easily decipher the expression on Noel's face, it was a mental debate. At that moment, his gripping hand tightened on my neck whilst the pheromone concentration in the room increased. Was he really about to do it? My thoughts were stopped after he cleared his throat and stared at the ceiling.
"You naughty girl." He chuckled softly whilst roughly rubbing his forehead. "Don't tease me."
"I wasn't." I mumbled. "My dad isn't home."
"Aurora?" Noel seemed shocked, yet remained calm. Moreover, my gaze was fixed on the tiled floor, though, my thumbs rubbed to relax myself. "Uh? You are serious about this. Did you take your suppressants? Or use a pheromone blocker?" I nodded as his hand slowly caressed my loose curls.
"Mating is a complicated process, and doing it with me might affect your pheromones too." He sighed, "gosh, don't give me that look."
"How?" I frowned.
"I was about to inform you about it earlier, but I couldn't because I was nervous." Noel tapped the seat beside him after sitting upright. "It's a long story."
"But," I pouted, then stood up. "I would rather not listen to a creepy story when all I want is you." Rolling my eyes, I sat across him. "Uh, you win."
The past two weeks were stressful because I had to resolve numerous issues that drained my morale. But, staring at Noel being in a nervous state was a situation I hadn't prepared for; his body was tense as he shifted on the couch. Whatever he had to inform me seemed to silently eat him from within; but, to ease him up, my hand held his cold arm.
"Do you remember what I told you about my father?" The silence was overwhelming, yet, I nodded slowly. "Actually, I was born a hybrid."
"Ah?" My hands clenched the jeans I had on; it seemed that Noel had finally decided to have the discussion. Worse, I knew about it — Sighing, I traced the loose curl behind my ear.
"You always know so much about me." Noel whispered, then smiled. "When did you find out?"
"At Avon, last week on Wednesday." There was silence for a while until I continued, "I wanted to visit your fitting room, but overheard the conversation between you and Mrs Parschel."
He laughed, then cleared his throat. "I should've tightly closed the door, but I'm glad you heard it. That lessens my stressful life — my mother really doesn't admit to disliking me."
"I noticed; Mrs Parschel seems controlling."
"You meant manipulative and demanding." Noel corrected, "It's okay, don't sugarcoat it."
I rolled my eyes before playfully slapping his shoulder. "Don't be rude, she's your mother." Rubbing my cheek, my eyebrows pressed. "Why does she favour your siblings more?"
After I asked that question, it was noticeable that he wouldn't answer it, but went along with the conversation for my sack. "She believes that it's my fault." He paused, "because my father died. It was my fault."
"..."
"My father experimented on himself, even though my mother continuously told him to stop the procedures." His voice was more of a whisper filled with suppressed cries. "Mr Li had informed him that I required a stronger pheromone to neutralize the imbalance, yet there was a lack of actual references for such actions. In truth, the experiments were basic theory, but father wished to save me very much that he held on to the hope of me surviving."
"The cure was made?" I asked.
"It was unsuccessful until he died. But, after his death, the Chester scientists began the research on his corpse — it was when the pheromone secreting glands were obtained that the experiment was successfully recognized. One of my glands functions as a prime alpha and is more dominant compared to the hybrid glands. Hence, my pheromones are a quarter of omega and the majority of secretion is alpha pheromones. In most cases, the adopted gland caused my pheromone scanning to be prime alpha."
"That clears up a lot." Noel forcefully smiled, then stared at me. "Wait, does your family have a scandal with house Li?"
He frowned. "Not anything that I'm aware of, but my mother stopped the sponsorship of the Li health organization several years ago. As the current head of the Parschel company, it seemed to have caused a rift between the two houses. Worse, because my father promised house Li a lifetime partnership after my medication. Which didn't happen because it withdrew upon my father's death, but house Chester proceeded."
"He promised them many benefits?" Maybe that could be the reason behind Linyu's interest in house Parschel. Could he have been sent by his family to analyze Noel's health after the past situations? Or could they be in need of the secrets to curing hybrids? After all, it was publicly known that house Chester was renowned for its research.
"According to the information I know, Li health organization took part in the surgeries, that ended after my father's death. It had shares in our company that my mother bought upon privately, succeeding my father. But, since the Chester organization found the cure, it remained a benefactor since then. Actually, that's the reason for the future engagement between Evangeline and I. Exceptional scientists are needed in our tech company, and Chester needs advanced technology too. It's a win deal."
"Right." I mumbled, then stared at the couch. "Then, I must be temporary."
"What?"
"Since you will be engaged to Evangeline for business, our relationship is just for fun." I clicked my tongue and stood up before Noel pulled me back toward him.
"We don't intend to do what our family wants us to do." He pulled me onto his lap, then poked my cheek. "Evangeline and Chantel have been together for a year. Moreover, I... My father's legal will has Arthur and Leticia as his only children. I'm temporarily standing in as the heir for my younger brother to avoid other family members from aiming for his property since his young."
"Why would your father do that?" I whispered, "he really experimented on himself and left your name out of the documents?"
"Aurora, my father died when I was eight years old; before the experiment was a success, and I was sickly. Moreover, I couldn't talk, had a weak system, and it was believed that I'd die later on." Noel smiled, "I'm not concerned with the properties. I'm thankful that he tried to save me, no, that he saved me at the cost of his life. That's why I will understand my mother's hate and at least live for him."
"Your father was a great man." He nodded. "I'm certain that he's so proud of you."
"I hope so." Noel pulled me closer and kissed my cheek. "Now, stop thinking that I'm temporary keeping you around. Evangeline knows about this, and it's fortunate that her family decided to feed off the rumours until Arthur got older. Well, I wouldn't let her marry my little brother, hence her family using me is enough for now." He laughed. "Does that clear up the misunderstandings?"
"Yes, apart from one." I traced his lips.
"Which is?"
"Today is the last day of our two-week subscription, so what do we do afterward?" Noel smiled, then moved forward. Immediately, his lips crashed against mine as we rhythmically moved at the same pace. I could feel his hot breath on mine; hands exploring my waist when I shifted in his laps. But, when his warm hand moved upwards, Noel paused and pulled away.
"Aurora, you must be one unlucky girl to have such an extraordinary guy as your boyfriend." He whispered softly before biting on my earlobe.
"It's quite luck— wait." My eyes widened as I felt his smile on my neck. "Oh my gosh. Hold on..." My hands slowly pushed him away before our eyes met; causing me to cover my mouth before staring at the door. "I have a famous boyfriend, scratch that, my boyfriend is attractive. Ah!"
I heard Noel laugh underneath me. "We can make it public tomorrow."
"Wait, shouldn't you ask me if I want to be your girlfriend? It's ideal." I playfully teased.
"Really?" He pulled me closer, then perked my heated cheeks, neck, and forehead; which made me giggle. "I love you, Aurora."
Those were the words that I wished to have heard from him since two years ago. No matter how excited I was when he said it, my mind flashed the image of the report which I'd given Linyu. If I waited for the day to end, I would've made a better choice. Moreover, knowing the truth made me anxious about what Linyu would do with the little information I provided.
My head fell onto his neck when tears slowly ran down my cheeks, then through his neck. Noel sighed and held me closer in his warm embrace. "I love you, Aurora." I wished to express my affection openly, yet the guilt left my words locked up in my mind. "I'll wait for your response, please take your time; we seem to have a lifetime."
"Hm?" I nodded.
"Aurora, will you be my girlfriend?"
"Y-yes, Von, will you be my boyfriend?"
There, wrapped in his arms, Noel gently caressed my back. It was slow and reminded me of the days that we had spent together; although it was less than a term, I felt closer to him than before. "I'd love to, sweetheart."
