🎄4/4
Marinette sighed as she walked into her room and closed the door. "My work is done in the bakery." She said, collapsing into her desk chair. "I can't believe someone stole all that money from the box, but I sacrificed my hard earned to replace it."
"This means you don't have anything to make for Adrien." Tikki said, poking her head up. "And, well, your sewing machine is busted too."
"What are you talking about?" Marinette asked. She tried to turn the knob on the side to see if the needle would still move. I had gotten stuck in the up position. She turned on the flash light on her phone and tried to find the problem. "Thread?"
"You might want to check the bobbin." Tikki advised.
Marinette pulled out part of the sewing machine to access the place the bobbin was being held. She pulled down the tiny door and noticed thread tangled around a small silver piece. Using her nails, she unlatched the bobbin holder but was unsuccessful trying to pull it out. Using the flashlight again, she found more tangled thread and tiny pieces of fabric. "Are you kidding me?! This will only break the machine if I even try to untangle and more thread will get stuck in it."
"Either take it to a shop or buy a new one." Tikki advised.
"I don't have money for the repair service or buy a brand new one." She sighed and put her head down on the desk. "I had this machine as long as I can remember. I worked on so many projects with this...well, I guess it's time to find a new one." She said.
Tikki nodded a bit. "I'm sorry, Marinette."
The blue haired girl began putting the parts back in the machine and looked around for the machine cover. She heard her name being called and looked towards the door. "Yeah?"
"Adrien is here!" Tom shouted to her. "I know you must be tired, but he has a Christmas present for you!"
Adrien...has a present...for me?!
"C-Coming!!"she yelled to her father, nearly tripping on a leg of her chair while standing up.
Adrien waited anxiously in the living room for Marinette. I hope she likes her gift, he thought. As soon as he saw the blue haired girl walk down the stairs, he smiled and greeted her. "Hey, Marinette!"
Marinette blushed and waved "H-Hey, Adrien!" She smiled. "I wasn't expecting company tonight."
"Well, I wanted to give you your Christmas gift!" Adrien smiled back at her and held up the present.
Marinette's face turned redder as she tried to comprehend what is going on. "Thank you. Would you like to enjoy some croissants and hot chocolate in the bakery?"
"I would love that!" Adrien chuckled. "I haven't eaten much of anything all day because of work."
"Oh, you had a photoshoot today?" she asked.
He nodded and walks to the front door to open it for her. "I will talk about more of my day once we go down to the bakery. After you, my lady." he said, stepping to the side.
She quickly glanced at her parents, who seemed excited for the two friends talking over croissants and hot chocolate...alone. After a short glare at them, Marinette took a deep breath and lead the way down to the bakery with her crush.
"So after my father heard how bad this photographer's behavior is and how he was talking to me, he took the photographer's camera and took out the SD card so I don't get blackmailed or anything." Adrien had told Marinette the whole story while waving around a croissant in one hand. "I still have no idea why he went through the trouble of hiring the guy."
"Sounds like you had a rough day." She said, setting down two more cups of hot chocolate with marshmallows.
He nodded his head and took another bite of his croissant. He looked around the bakery and noticed the box was gone. "Wasn't there something there before?" he asked, then heard a sigh come from the blue haired girl.
"Someone...stole the box while I was working in the bakery today." She said sadly, sitting down across from him. "I tried running after him and we didn't hear back from the police, so I gave all the money I earned to the donation box we replaced on the Ladybug and Chat Noir cut outs." She looked down at her hot chocolate with a sad expression. "Then my sewing machine is broken, and I don't have the funds to repair or buy another one at the moment. So I can't work on anything for a while."
"That sticks." Adrien frowned. "Well, I think I know what will make you feel better, Mari." He chimed and picked up the gift that had been sitting on the floor beside his foot.
Her blue eyes grew wide. "Y-You didn't have to buy me anything, Adrien."
"This is a gift for being my best friend this year." He smiled. "Open it! I'm excited to see your face!"
She laughed and rolled her eyes. She untied the bow on top and started tearing the wrapping paper. She looked around for a knife to open the tapped sides of the gift box, picking up a clean one from the counter. She threw the packaging peanuts on the floor until she noticed a silver box with the Agreste logo on the top. She glanced at the blonde, who was happily sipping his hot chocolate. "What did you get me from your father's company."
"Take it out of the box." He said slyly.
She nodded a bit and attempted to pick up the gift. It wasn't too heavy, it just had a lot of supplies in it. "Is this...a sewing box?"
Adrien nodded with a smile. "One of a kind sewing box. Packed with nearly every essential a designer need at the sewing table. The pin cushion is a one of a kind too." His eyes met hers, which made him smile more with a blush. "This is the last one in production too. For someone who is becoming a designer, I think you will love this box very much."
Marinette was speechless. The boy she had a crush on all year had given her brand new sewing tools to work with. Even though it wasn't a brand new sewing machine, a one of a kind Agreste brand sewing box blew her mind. "I...I don't know what to say, Adrien."
Adrien reached across the table to hold her hand. "I wish your day working at the bakery wasn't so stressful for you, my lady. I'm sadden to hear what an awful day you had the days before Christmas. Please, accept my gift and create something wonderful with it. I can't wait to see one of your designs come to life, Marinette." The blonde thought he saw tears forming in those blue eyes he was staring into. "Mari?"
Marinette put her head down, trying not to cry. "This is beautiful Adrien, it really is. I love it, and will create something wonderful with it...for you."
Adrien smiled and tilted his head to the side. "Merry Christmas, Marinette."
"Merry Christmas, Adrien."
