Ch4
A/N: sigh, I feel like since this is my own story I should occasionally write on it. Well, here it is.
----------------------------------------------
I start shivering once our group gets close to the Shadow Lands, where dark and cruel cats stay. Me and Feather fly above, the Runners of course, run below us. What most don't know about the Shadow Cats is that they aren't one kind of cat group. Unlike the Finned, Runners, or Winged, they could be any type. Most are banished from their groups, but some left on their own. Not all Shadow Land cats are bad, I've met a few. Our 'group' rest on the border of the woods, we inspect the damage done by the fire. Burnt bodies are found close by us, already picked on by vultures. Me and Feather ask for volunteers to help us find the survivors.
Cliff, Sandy, and Speedy raise their paw.
I nod at them solemnly and take flight. Feather follows close behind, making sure I know what's ahead of me. I can't fly like I use to. She said I'm not completely blind, my right eye isn't damaged, but what our ancestors called 'fire sight'. I won't go into much detail about it but apparently it's when a ember of fire gets to close to an eye and burns it. The victim recovers, but can either be blind or with a different colored eye. Feather said I got the second option.
Soon, we neared on to the main camp of the Shadow Lands. Smoke filled out lungs and more crisp cats could be seen lying dead on the ground, muzzles open in a silent plea for help.
Clift lays his tail on my back as a sign of comfort. I blink at him gratefully.
We padded around the broken camp, when we could hear pitiful mewls coming from the north side.
I quickly sprung over to where the mews could be heard, and I gasped at the sight.
Cats covered in ash surrounding their dying leader. His broken calls muffled by the blood pooling around his body as he slowly bled to death.
I stood there watching as he twisted agonizingly revealing painful burns that gorged through his fur. After a few painful moments, the leader died, the surviving cats not even bothering to bury him, left the crumbling den.
They all looked the same, but a large tom asked if we could help them. I nodded and led them out of the wreckage. We joined up with our 'group' and directed the Shadow Land cats to a large rain puddle.
I counted how many of them we found.
There were 7 of them, mostly males and some females.
I eventually learned their names once they came out of the water:
Coal- a large grey tom with green eyes, a banished Finned cat
Natalie- a russet colored she-cat with green eyes, a banished Winged
Stripes- pale yellow tabby tom with blue eyes, another banished Winged
Sparks- a blue grey she-cat with cloudy eyes(she was presumably blind), a cast out Runner
Acorn- brown tom with one yellow eye, a banished Finned
Violet- a almost purplish she-cat with hazel eyes
Savanna- a sandy colored tom with blue eyes
I noticed something about Natalie and Stripes though; they were very close and I could tell liked each other very much. But Coal, Natalie's father, didn't like Stripes. I didn't want to pry so I suggested we go find the Finned. Acorn volunteered to show us the way since he was recently banished.

A/N: I gave this story a long chapter, due to me having not written on it for awhile.
