I just stood there. The fire, growing ever closer, was bright. My mother, inside the scorching flames, screams for me to run. My best friend, Feather, pushing me, calling out to run. But I just stand there, watching my mothers body becoming a charred lump of burning fur. My father is laughing a short distance away, that sicko loves what he is seeing. My siblings, I don't know where they have gone. My clan is running around me, most on fire. "Our leader is dead!" Screamed one of the flaming cats. Me and Feather are probably the only ones untouched by the flames. I cast one more glance at my mothers shriveled body, which was no more than ashes now, turned and run. Feather close behind, ducking burning branches and flaming fur. "I'll come back for you mother! I promise I will" "Scarlet stop screaming and run!" Feather shouts at me and I try to hide the tears that fell. I turn suddenly and feel a pulse of heat. I open my eyes and see something of brown and red. I hear Feather's scream before I black out.
