Kai's POV

It was the evening of the next day and I sat outside with Teito on the fountain. He was staring at a purple flower. "Did Labrador give you that to you?" I asked him and he nods.

"Kai, I want to see Mikage." He tells me.

"I don't know what's going to happen to him now." I say looking down at the ground. I wasn't going to tell him about my past, until everything that had happened to me is revealed. "I want to see him to."

He stands up. "Kai! I'm going to leave this place! We have to save Mikage!"

"But Teito..." I say and felt a heavy feeling in my chest. "What if he's.."

"Don't say that!" He yells at me and determination filled his eyes. "We won't know until we find him!"

"You're right." I say and stand up beside him. The bell rings from the inside of the church and we walk towards the exit with the rest of the people.

"Please hurry along!" The guard yells. "It's time for the gate to close!"

"Wait!" A voice yells and Frau grabs our heads with his hand. "Where do you think you're going, ya little brats?"

We narrow our eyes and glare at him. Simultaneously we rip his hand off our head and step back.

"Hey, let go!" We scream. "We're not stupid brats!"

"My name is..." Teito yells.

"What?" Frau asks looking down at him.

"You haven't even touched the food the sisters made for you, have you?" He asked us.

"The gate's closing!" The guard yells and we look back and make a run for it.

"Hey! Hold it!" Frau yells and grabs our arms, the door closes soon after. "Jeez!"

"Why can't you just leave us alone?!" I scream at him and he narrows his eyes and pulls onto my wrist.

"Because it's my job to take care of you, brat."

"No it's not!" I scream and puts me on his back and I start screaming. "Let go of me!" With one hand he picks up Teito who screams in the process.

"What?!" He yells and starts moving his arms everywhere but can't because of the chains. "Put us down! We're not hungry!" At that moment Teito's stomach growls.

"If you miss your chance now, you won't get anything to eat until tomorrow." Frau says smirking up at Teito.

"I'm not hungry!" I yell and he rolls his eyes and puts us in his arms. "Let go!"

"And it'd be annoying if you passed out on us again." Frau says.

"It looks like you're finally loosening up." Castor says and picks up the flower that Teito dropped. "This flower will lose it's meaning in life if you don't wear it." He puts it on Teito's head and he glares at him. Castors puts his hands out and motions to Frau. Frau gives me to Castor and Teito and I continue to scream as we walk inside.

"Put us down!" We yell. "We said put us down!"

"Looks like we made it in time." Frau says and Castor stops.

"Put us down, you-" We yell and they give us our request and puts us on the ground. Well, Frau throws Teito on the ground while Castor gently puts me on the ground. We look around and see sisters and bishops all eating and drinking together. They were smiling happily to each other and talking to one another.

Teito stands up. "Everyone who lives here at the church serves God." Castor says.and we look over to him.

Sister Athena comes twirling towards us. "It's our lost lambs led to us by heaven!" She says happily and puts a cloth around our neck. "Come, it's time for supper!"

"It's nothing fancy, but please help yourself." Sister Libelle says.

"It'll help you regain your strength!" Sister Rosalie says as Sister Athena leads us over and we sit down.

"R-Right..." We stutter.

"Today's menu features eye stew." Sister Libelle says and lifts up the hood. There in water were fish that looked like a human eyeball but about 5 times larger. I stare at it in horror and Frau takes a seat near Teito.

"We're getting a real feast tonight!" He says happily and takes a fork and an eyefish and eats it. I feel myself turn green and look down at my hands.

"Just today we received these precious eyefish for tonight's stew." Sister Athena says.

"We can't eat meat, so we are truly grateful." Sister Libelle explains.

"I love it!" Sister Rosalie says happily and the other women smile at her. Teito and I look around for something else to eat besides eyefish. There didn't seem to be anything else until Castor takes a plant and eats into it, smiling.

"You're not going to eat it?" Castor says sitting in between Teito and I. Frau's face turns devilish and lifts his fork and takes one of Teito's.

"I'll take it if you're not gonna eat it." He says that and just as he does Teito stuffs the eyefish in his mouth and Frau laughs victoriously. "You're pretty enthusiastic about trying it out!"

Teito chews it and says it's delicious. "Those who serve the church are only allowed to eat basic dishes consisting of shellfish, vegetables, and fish. District 7 is famous for it's eyefish and edible flowers." Castor explains lifting up a tank of eyefish.

"What are you used to eating?" Frau asked eating the edible fruit and I do the same.

"More normal food along with protein pills and vitamins." Teito explains and eats another eyefish.

"That sounds gross." Frau says.

"You get used to eating a small amount of food after a while." I explain and Frau touches our heads with his hands. "So that's why you're so short." He starts rubbing our heads. "You should eat more natural foods!"

Teito narrows his eyes and starts eating more of the eyefish at a terrifying speed. "I'm gonna grow big!"

"There's no need to rush. There's plenty of food." Explains Sister Athena and eats an eyefish in absolute delight.

"Come to think of it, we still don't know what your name is." Sister Libelle says.

"She's right! I'd love to hear it!" Sister Rosalie says happily and we stop eating and they look at us. I already told Labrador my name, but I still didn't trust them. He did get the chains off me, even though Teito's was still on.

"It's okay, little lambs." Sister Athena says. "The church holds out open arms to everyone."

"Is it yummy? How do you like it?" Sister Rosalie says and looks over to me. "Little lamb, you haven't eaten the eyefish."

"I.. I think I'm okay with the plants. They're good."

"Y-Yeah, it's great." Teito says and chews another eyefish.

"So, what's with the new appearance?" Frau asks.

"I want to look like this."

"What are you in that form, 5?"

"No, 8." I say. "I don't feel like being older yet."

Frau smirks and lifts me off the ground on his shoulders. "Let me go!" I yell and someone takes me off his shoulders. I look over and see Labrador. "Thank you." he puts me back on the seat and sits beside me.

"Here~" He says and gives me a blue flower. Blue flowers are the symbol of love, prosperity and immortality.

"Thank you."

After we finish eating they dispersed and we walk back to our room. Inside there were Christmas decorations over our room.

"Come! Please rest!" Sister Athena says happily.

"What's this?" We ask sweat dropping.

"Oh, no! You don't like it?" Sister Athena asked.

"I suppose we got a little carried away. You're not a little..." Sister Libelle looks over to me. "Child."

"I'm sorry! We were trying to cheer you up, but we'll clean it up right away!" Sister Rosalie says sadly.

"Thanks.." We say and 10 minutes passed and all of the Christmas decorations disappeared.

"We have some chores that we need to take care of." Sister Athena says and lifts up a mop.

"Can we..." We ask and she stops us.

"You don't need to help! You're injured, after all!"

"We don't want to be a burden to everyone..." We say and they move over to us and smile.

"You're such good boys!" They say happily and they give us a mop and we separate. I couldn't help but think of my parents and Mikage during this time. I wondered about what my life could have been.

Flashback~

I saw being bullied by a bunch of students and one of them had lift up the collar of my shirt and was about to punch me in the face.

"Hey!" A voice yells and a zaiphon goes around a few of their necks and the others were hit with rocks. The person drops me on the ground and I look over. I wasn't allowed to hurt any of the students or else I would be punished, my food would be taken away, I would be moved to the basement and forced to be there for weeks.

"I need to leave." I tell myself and finish my chores and head to the exit to see Frau and Teito by each other. Someone takes my shoulder and pushes me beside them out of the view of Frau and Teito. I look up and see Castor and Labrador. Castor puts his finger to his mouth and motions me to be quiet.

"I'm going to leave now!" Teito yells. "I can't continue being a burden to everyone here!" Castor moves in front of me and walk behind Teito.

"I believe that it was fate that brought you here." Castor says. "Those who serve God will never forsake those who seek salvation, nor will we betray them."

"I never asked for that! I never said I wanted you to help me!" He yells. "I'm doing this for Kai and Mikage!"

"Hmph." Frau says. "What could you do it you left here the way you are?"

"I can do anything?" I watch in the corner as Teito unleashes his Zaiphon. "Don't get in my way!" He yells and jumps in the air and aims it at Frau, who dodges it easily. Teito lands back on his feet again.

Labrador takes my arm and leads me out. "Castor! Would you like some tea?"

"Thank you very much." He says and I look at Labrador confused only to get a smile from him. "Oh, my! It's chamomile tea, isn't it?"

"God has bestowed the gift to transform and manipulate the source of all life energy to a selected few. It's called Zaiphon." He explains to no one. "The power is manipulated by the user's emotions and form into words surrounding the caster's hands." Teito activates his Zaiphon once again. "You can see how angry he is just by looking at his hands."

Once again Teito aims his Zaiphon at Frau, be he continues to dodge. They jump into the air.

"But he's really quite impressive. He's a great playmate for Frau. I'd say he's pretty powerful, don't you?"

"Yes, indeed." Castor says and we continue to watch Frau and Teito fight. "They seem to be playing together quite nicely."

"What's keeping ya? You can't defeat me like this!" Teito runs forward and attacks furiously against Frau who was smirking throughout the entire encounter, while Teito was out of breath.

"That won't work!" Frau says. "You can't do a damn thing the way you are now. Quit being so cocky, ya stupid brat!"

"Hey! I'm not a stupid brat!" He yells and runs forward. "I'm Teito Klein!" His Zaiphon circles around his body and a large explosion erupts from the battlefield. As the smoke clears, Frau appears behind Teito and he looks back.

"A Zaiphon alone's not enough to defeat me, Teito." Frau says and punches him in the stomach.

"Hey!" I yell and run forward and grabs onto Teito. "Don't touch him!"

"What are you going to do about it, brat?" He asks glaring at me and I return it tenfold. But I didn't do anything at Frau takes Teito from me and Labrador and Castor move over to us. Frau tosses Teito over to Labrador and grabs my arm.

"The poor dear.." Labrador says, holding Teito up.

"You overdid it, Frau!" Castor scolds.

"But after all this, I bet he won't try leaving again." He says and looks down at me as I continues to glare at him. "I bet you can use Zaiphon too."

"Of course I can!" I spat and wince as he squeezes my arm. "Let go of me!"

"Calm down." Castor says as he grabs me away from Frau and looks over to me. "Your friend told us his name, will you tell us yours?"

"Kai..."

"What a cute name." Castor says and his smile disappears. "Sorry, Kai-kun." I felt something hit my neck and my senses go black and I drift into unconsciousness.
