Everything
Genji's P.O.V.
Angela's slower to react, but get's back on her feet faster after I had lunged at her saving her from a bullet. She brings me back up, pulling my arm up as I say, "They're coming."
My girlfriend flutters her wings, flying up to get a better view. I watch her in awe, what a magnificent angel she was. "You're right, they're coming in from the front."
She lands on the ground next to me, pulling out her staff that was trained on me and her pistol locked and loaded to take out her next victim.
It was a good thing 'take out' in this context meant to kill instead of date. Although maybe after this-
My eyes catch a bullet flying towards me, I brace my blade ready to deflect it at the right moment, but my brother beats me to it.
A blue arrow, intercepting the arrow. Tearing the metal piece into two as the arrow lands to the ground. I unsheathe my sword, looking towards where he was stationed. Nice to see he finally decided to join us.
Before I could catch up with him any more, the gates of the temple burst open, with the last of the troop from my uncle's army. I let my metal fingers trace the blade of my sharp sword, after this I'll be home.
Right?
Uncertainty travels through my vain when I finally see who's leading the troops. Sakura, her dark black hair spilling onto her black suit, like oil that seeped into her clothes.
Somewhere in that army, Sonna, Riku and Rin was there as well.
Unless, they weren't?
God dammit!! Not now!! The demon's words ringing in my head as I begged from him to stop.
Maybe they were one of those soldiers you killed on your way here!
The monster chuckles with his wicked sense of humor. Stop it! Get out!!
A hand grips my shoulder, the warm fingers pressing against me, calming me down. "Genji, it's alright." Her words giving me encouragement but it was her smile that sent me hope. Her full smile, so warm, reminding me the very definition of what home was.
Her words prompted me to fight, it was my brother who started me off. Setting off the first blow towards the other side, I followed suit. Jumping up to the crowd as I summon not the demon inside of me, but the dragon instead.
"Ryūjin no ken wo kurae!!"
Mercy's P.O.V.
I watch Genji dive towards the crowd. I had to stop myself from grinding my teeth in anger, I thought I had put Sakura down, how is it that she had come back up, now with more of her mindless soldiers.
I fly over the battlefield, focusing my healing towards Genji, healing all the scratches he got, wiping through the crowds at an amazing speed. However, I must've been distracted because of him.
Someone lunges at me, making me fly into the air slamming into an upper platform. My head slams into the wooden floor, making my vision blurry. I could hear three different Genji's calling out my name. What the hell?
I look up to see the person that slammed into me, step onto the platform as they give me a full smile. "Shit..." I say as soon as my vision returns to normal I recognized the two people standing over me immediately.
"Morning babe. . ." Riku says with a wink, while his partner who I think was called Soona looks over me unimpressed.
"Why would Genji chose someone like you? A foreigner too. . ." Soona says in disgust, his personality rotting from the inside.
That was racist.
I let my fingers wander to where my pistol was, but Riku snatches it instantly pointing the gun at me. My own weapon, what a shame. Riku taps at the earpiece that he wore as if he was recieving a command, must've been from Sakura. "Don't worry, he'll forget about you." he smiles, a doubtful smile. "We'll go back to being a happy family again." Riku says locking the gun in place.
The gun cracks, not from the bullet blown, but from an arrow hitting the barrel, making Riku jump back in surprise. My weapon hitting the floor as Riku hisses in pain, from the pistol. I take my chance, not caring how the arrow was fired.
I sweep the red haired male from his feet, picking him up from falling only to put a gun to his head. Riku blinks in surprise under my grip, I look towards Soona who gets up from the floor. "I'll do it, pull anything else and the bullet goes in his head."
I've been used to doing the violent acts, but now that they came out of my mouth. The words of threats sent a chill down my spine. Soona looks at me horrified, it sent a chill down my spine to know that I could do such a thing.
From the shadows, Hanzo steps out behind him, before Riku could warn his fellow companion. Hanzo plunges the electric arrow into Soona's neck, making him burst into electricity. His body going limp as he hit the floor.
Riku sobbed, guilty tears streaming down his face. I force myself to press onto his pressure point, making him pass out. I didn't want anymore blood on the ground. No more souls to collect, only more to save.
I stare at the two, feeling the guilt seep into my head. But Hanzo places his hand on my shoulder, "It's fine.... They aren't dead, they just passed out."
I crouch down so that I could look down at their innocent faces, his hand sliding off of me. "I know... it's just sad... that we have to resort to violence in order to put an end of problems..."
I hold their killing hands, "I just wished... there was something else we could do..."
Genji's P.O.V.
I stare back at where Angela had landed into, was she okay?! I grunt from the bullets that rained towards me. I was taking a lot of damage and the pain was becoming more distinctive without her healing. I hurl myself through the pain anyways, disappointing myself each time.
My dragon still lingers on, maybe that's how I was still going on through this battle. Convincing me that I had to go on, for the mission, for my brother, for Angela and my family.
Just as I had started to give myself confidence it was then again shut down by my ignorance, a knife whizzes pass my face, knocking my visor onto the cold wooden floor.
My hand flies towards my face, feeling blood come out of the fresh cut. Another scar over the other's. I reach over to grab the visor back up from the floor but then someone puts their foot on top of it, crushing the well made piece of armor into little bits and pieces.
I jumped back from the sudden smash.
To look up from a pair of legs, laced with black fabric for skin tight armor. Sakura stood over me with a menacing look as she released her leg off of my shattered mask and started to walk towards me. Rin puts a hand in front of her, stopping her in her tracks. "Let me," he glowers, shooting me a disgusted look.
Out of all people, my own friend, my ally, my second brother, it felt terrible to be punched in the gut with a bitter feeling of betrayal. "Tell me Genji, who will you save." Drawing his small dagger, the weapon turning into weapons as he flicks his hand so that three to five more daggers appear between his fingers. "Your own family.." He points his weapon to the upper platform. My eyes wander where his weapon was pointed to, only to see that my 'friends' Hanzo and Angela escaping to the door. "Or your new friends."
Leaving without me.
I grit my teeth, "I'm afraid that... my new friends are my enemies now."
The corner of Rin's mouth tugs into a small smile, lowering his weapons as he allows me to stand up. I walk over to his side, him not realizing my fingers still lingered along the handle of my short sword. Once I had gained such a close distance between him, I whispered under my breath, "However, the enemy I'm referring to isn't up there but here with me."
Before he could process my words, the dragon inside of me reels in it's power. As I call it once again, "Ryūjin no ken wo kurae...."
Knocking the daggers out of his hand, into the air and when gravity snapped back to reality, it landed point first onto the wooden floor, but some stabbing through the fabrics of his own armor, red bleeding into the black color.
He grunts, landing onto his knees, taking too many stabs by his own thorns. I stood over him, I could see Sakura few feet away. She could've done something, but she just stopped and watch to see what would happen next. As if she was testing me, had I really changed?
I loomed over him with power and the authority to do whatever I wanted with him, his life in my hand to control. "Angela, Hanzo, Zen... and the rest of Overwatch are what I call my family." Pointing the blade of my sword towards his suffering expression. "And whoever, messes with them, messes with me." The point touching his chin, drawing a bit of blood.
"However.."
I swing it back, drawing it away from Rin. "I made a promise that I would only protect... defend... I don't need anymore blood spilled on the ground. This castle already reeks too much of it."
Rin looks at me with bitter astonishment, "W-Why?"
But he's pushed away, by Sakura behind him. "Move!" she yells, moving towards me.
Her two daggers taking place of his, now attacking forwards to me. I jolt with energy, the weapon catching me by surprise. I block her, blow after blow. Matching her two blades, I pulled out mine as well.
However, because of the unequal length and strength, it proved to be much of a failure.
Sakura manages to knock my shorter sword across the floor as she strikes with both blades, I press harder against her weight. However, it proved only to be a battle of two sides, none faltering to the other.
"Why do you still fight for them?" She says her small legs reaching out to kick me back into the walls. Damn her and her strategic plans.
I grunt as my back hit the wall for the third time of this day. My katana had fallen out of my grip, landing somewhere to the side. There was no use to grab it, I knew that if I didn't want to loose my other arm, I wouldn't risk it with how close she was. I wanted to summon my dragon again, but my energy was low. It was already impossible to summon two in an hour, summoning three proved to be difficult right about now.
I wanted to do something...
Fight tooth and nail, for something. For my family.
Even if my own clan had betrayed me, I still had a family I made back at Overwatch, the memories I had made there held a special place in my heart.
And... she was back home.
She was my home.
Angela....
"They're nothing, she's nothing.." Sakura barks back with disbelief, only then do I realize she had been crying. Her tears overflowing, the clan in ruins because of my team. And yet, she was still concerned over me. Of who I was worthy of, but like in the past, that doesn't matter to me.
So I say my final words, before her blade took my life.
"She's everything.."
